Prayer Requests 4-15-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 84

A psalm.

How lovely is your dwelling place,
    Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;
   my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may have her young—
   a place near your altar,
    Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
    they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;
    the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength,
    till each appears before God in Zion.

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
Look on our shield, O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
   I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
   no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you.

  1. Please pray for me as I continue preaching from the Elijah series tomorrow morning, this time “The Lord, He is God” (I Kings 18:1-39).

  2. Praying.

    And prayer here as I have initiated a first meeting between son in law and daughter in hope of addressing some concerns and coming to a better understanding of all. Civil conversation, maybe relit spark. Truth comes out. Peace and reconciliation. Not much really. Wisdom.

  3. Feeling like this: “Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.” Psalm 41:9.

    😦

    I really didn’t need this right now. I’m basically thinking like Nehemiah: “I am doing a good work. I cannot come down.”

    Slept 11 hours last night. Two major projects to complete today. (Job study . . ., of course, is the big one. )

    And then, the email. (Maybe it’s a mercy AOL seems down today? That means I’m only 57 behind in my other account.)

  4. Prayers for the preaching tomorrow, T, that it will all be guided by the Holy Spitit and spoken with boldness, clarity, and an effective call to action. May all be attentive and give positive feedback.

    Prayers, Munsee, for things to be reconciled and that God’s truth will prevail as the foundation to move forward on. May there be new found peace, harmony, and dedication to do the right thing though it may be harder than trying to live in a fantasy of one’s own selfish kingdom making. Please, Lord, ground them in truth and bond them through Your love into a single cord.

    Lord, please help M with all she hinted at such as a possible broken friendship. Please help her with the big projects before her. Thank You for giving her good rest to replace the insomnia shr used to have.

    Please bless AJ with a good weekend, keeping him well and thinking on Your realm where people walk by faith and not by sight. I pray for a positive outlook to carry him through this week.

    I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Well, the meeting is over and they all want to meet again so that is a plus. Can’t say we came to any agreements but that was not the aim. The aim was to have a civil discussion. Check. Thanks for praying. Pray for the next meeting.
