Prayer Requests 4-11-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 80

Of Asaph. A psalm.

Hear us, Shepherd of Israel,
    you who lead Joseph like a flock.
   You who sit enthroned between the cherubim,
    shine forth before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh.
   Awaken your might;
    come and save us.

Restore us, O God;
    make your face shine on us,
    that we may be saved.

How long, Lord God Almighty,
    will your anger smolder
    against the prayers of your people?
You have fed them with the bread of tears;
    you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.
You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors,
    and our enemies mock us.

Restore us, God Almighty;
    make your face shine on us,
    that we may be saved.

You transplanted a vine from Egypt;
    you drove out the nations and planted it.
You cleared the ground for it,
    and it took root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade,
    the mighty cedars with its branches.
11 Its branches reached as far as the Sea,
    its shoots as far as the River.

12 Why have you broken down its walls
    so that all who pass by pick its grapes?
13 Boars from the forest ravage it,
    and insects from the fields feed on it.
14 Return to us, God Almighty!
    Look down from heaven and see!
   Watch over this vine,
15  the root your right hand has planted,
    the son you have raised up for yourself.

16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire;
    at your rebuke your people perish.
17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand,
    the son of man you have raised up for yourself.
18 Then we will not turn away from you;
    revive us, and we will call on your name.

19 Restore us, Lord God Almighty;
    make your face shine on us,
    that we may be saved.

  1. Praying for next year’s election, for God’s will to be done in whomever is elected, and even now, for that person to be saved.

    And not only for the election itself, but for this campaign season. May we believers not get so caught up in politics that we forget Who we belong to (and Who this nation belongs to), and how we as Christians are supposed to comport ourselves – especially online these days. May our first allegiance be to our God, and our highest priority be doing His will, and being good witnesses of His love and truth to those around us, including online.

  2. Prayer here as we just learned the other primary caregiver for the children is down with strep. May have to be hospitalized as it is rather severe. She is a daughter in law.

  3. Thank You, Father God, for the antibiotics that can quickly rid a body of strep. Please let the med be super effective to quickly clear this bout. I also ask for Your help in confinuing to open the eyes and hearts of the parents to the truth and reality of who is ultimately responsible for the children. I ask for a good outcome in all that will affect the children for their lifetimes. Please put solid Christians all along their paths to fill any gaps. Thank You for what all Mumsee and Mike have already done to help. Please continue to bless the Nest with Your fruit overflowing in abundance. I pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen

  4. Son in law requests prayer today as he meets with a lawyer for the first time. He thought this was all going to be amicable but it is not looking so at this point. He is quite crushed by the whole thing, understandably. And he is fighting bitterness which he does not want to jump into but it is there, a gaping chasm. He turns continually to Christ.

  5. Please pray, too, for a young woman, Bailey. She is not a believer as far as I know, but I don’t know her well. I know she is in a difficult situation and needs the Lord.

  6. We also need to pray that believers are not so ‘nice’ that others misunderstand or do not hear the truth God has given us to share. How we need the Holy Spirit to help us!

  7. For two weeks in a row both of my Tues. Bible studies have been cancelled due to death and near death in the families of the leaders. I am so much missing my Tues. groups, but it has freed up more time for prayer here.

  8. And that we always seek and speak with grace — which is not “being nice,” permissive or passive or unwilling to deal with tough issues. God’s grace never calls wrong right.

    But — it does provide for a radically different way of dealing with wrong and with difficult issues. It requires humility and a trust in the power of God.

  9. I also join in praying for this difficult season our nation finds itself in, that we can light a candle in the darkness, have clarity of spirit and thought, be quick to hear-slow to speak-and slow to anger, that we would never be disrespectful in our discourse (and when we are, because it happens, that we’d be quick to repent); that believers would seek humility, grace and truth in our words and behavior.

    I’ve never personally witnessed a period in our nation quite like this. đŸ˜¦ They are difficult times, mildly put, and require extra vigilance.

  10. I just noticed that I accidentally “liked” my own prayer request. Well, I guess that just shows that I am indeed praying for it. đŸ™‚

    Praying for my church elder who is expecting lymph node biopsy results sometime this week following his colon cancer surgery last week.

    I somehow missed spotting him at church (it was crowded), but he made it there, amazingly, was able to sit in one of the new recliner-type chairs they’ve put in at the end of some of the back rows as we have a few folks struggling with some serious conditions right now.

  12. The latest update I can see on Facebook is from yesterday. (The reference to her being transferred, I think, is to a rehab facility.)

    “Update for Jessica week 5 Monday. We are working on referrals this morning to get the appointments in place that she needs to be transferred. She also needs another helmet that fits better to get here. It was ordered last week. She also has a mass/lump of her right thigh that has come up and they will ultrasound today. Please be praying over the whole process and that it all comes together quickly and efficiently this morning.”
