Prayer Requests 3-13-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 55

A maskil of David.

Listen to my prayer, O God,
    do not ignore my plea;
    hear me and answer me.
   My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught
because of what my enemy is saying,
    because of the threats of the wicked;
   for they bring down suffering on me
    and assail me in their anger.

My heart is in anguish within me;
    the terrors of death have fallen on me.
Fear and trembling have beset me;
    horror has overwhelmed me.
I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!
    I would fly away and be at rest.
I would flee far away
    and stay in the desert;
I would hurry to my place of shelter,
    far from the tempest and storm.”

Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words,
    for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 Day and night they prowl about on its walls;
    malice and abuse are within it.
11 Destructive forces are at work in the city;
    threats and lies never leave its streets.

12 If an enemy were insulting me,
    I could endure it;
   if a foe were rising against me,
    I could hide.
13 But it is you, a man like myself,
    my companion, my close friend,
14 with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship
    at the house of God,
   as we walked about
    among the worshipers.

15 Let death take my enemies by surprise;
    let them go down alive to the realm of the dead,
    for evil finds lodging among them.

16 As for me, I call to God,
    and the Lord saves me.
17 Evening, morning and noon
    I cry out in distress,
    and he hears my voice.
18 He rescues me unharmed
    from the battle waged against me,
    even though many oppose me.
19 God, who is enthroned from of old,
    who does not change—
   he will hear them and humble them,
    because they have no fear of God.

20 My companion attacks his friends;
    he violates his covenant.
21 His talk is smooth as butter,
    yet war is in his heart;
   his words are more soothing than oil,
    yet they are drawn swords.

22 Cast your cares on the Lord
    and he will sustain you;
   he will never let
    the righteous be shaken.
23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked
    into the pit of decay;
   the bloodthirsty and deceitful
    will not live out half their days.

   But as for me, I trust in you.

  1. Prayer here. Husband is beginning the full extent of what he offered to do. He offered and was accepted to care for the grandchildren so daughter could sleep as she has lost all of her attempts at attaining child care on her own. (she is not easy to get along with right now). Anyway, he now realizes some of the costs he skipped over before: he does things and this will put an end to it. For example: he stays with my dad so I can do my half hour of exercise and won’t be able to do that while child caring. Highway commission, VFW, taking eggs to people, speech therapy…..I suspect he just always thinks of me as the fall back who will cover for him but now I have to decide how much to back off on dad care and home school to provide child care.

  2. Well, it is obvious that God put Mumsee on my mind so that we cross-posted. Raising the needs to God who knows before we even ask.
    Praying for Jessica’s desperate situation, too.

    God must have made Mike an ‘in the moment’ guy as He seems to have made my husband. Their desire to help those in need before them clouds their view of the overall effect of their decisions on others.

  3. Update on Jessica. She had surgery yesterday morning to relieve the intercranial pressure. It is within normal limits right now. He pelvis is broken in several places and she has a tibial fracture which she should have another surgery on to replace bone with a rod. Her left side is currently paralyzed, but she does have sensation. She was in and out of consciousness yesterday, and did respond purposefully by squeezing hands. She is 17 years old. Thank you for your prayers. She has a long road ahead. Please continue to pray for healing and restoration of body and relationships.

  4. Michelle, on delivering eggs. For husband, delivering eggs means sitting down with a cup of coffee for an hour of man talk, or sitting with an elderly couple to find out what is broken then going to the store to buy the parts and fix it, or taking a couple grocery shopping that could not find their way home again if the wife with dementia falls asleep leaving the blind driver to find his way. The three and four year old would not work well in that situation.
