Prayer Requests 3-2-23

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget Jo and the folks in PNG.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see what the Lord has done,
    the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
    to the ends of the earth.
   He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.

  1. Two 16-year-old students barged into an art class at my Adorable 15’s SCHOOL yesterday at 11:00 to pick a fight with a 15- year-old student DURING class.

    The two came at the younger kid—before the rest of the class and teacher— with taunts and fists.

    The 15 y-o pulled our a knife and stabbed one in the chest 3 times and slashed the other’s hand before fleeing.

    Chaos.

    He fled, school locked down, kid stabbed in chest— despite immediate care—died at the hospital. Other kid okay.

    They found the younger one six blocks away hiding in a creek bed.

    Our school district cancelled having a police officer at the high schools just before COVID claiming their presence made “some “ kids “ feel uncomfortable.”

    Community is in an uproar.

    My Adorable didn’t see any of this.

    Please pray as you will.

    Thanks.

  2. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for keeping this situation from escalating into something even worse. All the violence in our world is horrific for both those who witness it and those who imagine it. The evil one has charge at such times and it is in stark contrast to Your peace. I pray that You might turn this situation to good by opening eyes and hearts to see Jesus as the remedy for such disease that allows evil to spread like cancer. Please give protection and forgetfulness from recurring visions of the time of terror for the witnesses and those who are in the school. Please give comfort to the grieving families of the murdered and the perpetrator, to the friends and acquaintances, and to the whole community. I pray for wise decision-making on the part of school and law enforcement. Please bring Your peace to reign over this vicinity in ways unknown before. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Praying for Jo to have an enjoyable visit with her house guests. Thankful God has provided well for them all and given opportunity to bond. May they delight in each other so much, Lord, that they want to make it an annual event. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  4. Nightingale is again working a double, so please pray for safe travel home late tonight when she will be very tired.

    She has decided to pick up this extra shift, after her regular Thursday shift, every other week (the week before her alternating weekend off). Just so ya know, I will be asking for prayer for her travel home every other Thursday. 🙂

  5. Praying for level heads to prevail while grieving the loss of one so young 🙁

    What a horrific trauma inflicted upon so many due to the choices of some….
