Prayer Requests 2-21-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 38

A psalm of David. A petition.

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
    or discipline me in your wrath.
Your arrows have pierced me,
    and your hand has come down on me.
Because of your wrath there is no health in my body;
    there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin.
My guilt has overwhelmed me
    like a burden too heavy to bear.

My wounds fester and are loathsome
    because of my sinful folly.
I am bowed down and brought very low;
    all day long I go about mourning.
My back is filled with searing pain;
    there is no health in my body.
I am feeble and utterly crushed;
    I groan in anguish of heart.

All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
    my sighing is not hidden from you.
10 My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
    even the light has gone from my eyes.
11 My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds;
    my neighbors stay far away.
12 Those who want to kill me set their traps,
    those who would harm me talk of my ruin;
    all day long they scheme and lie.

13 I am like the deaf, who cannot hear,
    like the mute, who cannot speak;
14 I have become like one who does not hear,
    whose mouth can offer no reply.
15 Lord, I wait for you;
    you will answer, Lord my God.
16 For I said, “Do not let them gloat
    or exalt themselves over me when my feet slip.”

17 For I am about to fall,
    and my pain is ever with me.
18 I confess my iniquity;
    I am troubled by my sin.
19 Many have become my enemies without cause;
    those who hate me without reason are numerous.
20 Those who repay my good with evil
    lodge accusations against me,
    though I seek only to do what is good.

21 Lord, do not forsake me;
    do not be far from me, my God.
22 Come quickly to help me,
    my Lord and my Savior.

  1. Having a visit with Chickadee today. in a little while. Please pray that my two daughters will grow in their sisterly bond. (As it is now, they love each other, and generally get along well, but each can get annoyed at the other for their differences in temperament and whatnot. Although they don’t let on to each other about that, they each privately mention to me what annoyed them about the other.)

    Also, please pray for the Holy Spirit to work in each one of us, and that when she is here, Chickadee will feel at home, and feel more like the young woman that she really is. Thank you.

  4. Good to hear the surgery went well.

    Kizzie, praying you have a joyous and sweet time together as a family today.

    And that there will be cake.

    My neighbor with one knee, one old still very painful and weak old knee, may come home on Thursday, her husband told me last night. She’s been in rehab all this time since the surgery. She’s expecting to see her surgeon (finally) tomorrow or on Wednesday. Recovery has been very slow and painful.

    Pray for a quicker pace on that front — for a good plan for PT once she’s home, whether she’ll have to travel to that or they’ll come to her if needed. And prayers, too, for her husband, who has said to me more than once that once she’s home (as happy and wonderful as that will be), his work will begin.

  5. Aw praying for you and the girls this day. That Chickadee will sense a sweetness in her childhood home, we knowing full well it is that He is in your midst. Oh that they would be drawn to Him through the Holy Spirit, making all things new again ❤️

    Oh so thankful for the successful surgery Kare!! To God be the Glory!!

    Praying for Mumsee as she and family continue to minister to Grandpa especially on this his Happy 93rd completion of life and moving into 94! May he be drawn close to our Lord as he is being ministered to by His Hands and Feet upon this earth.

    Keeping Aj, Janice and Art covered in prayer this day as well! And Jo as she figures out life in the states and how to navigate new responsibilities and bills! Oy’!

  6. Before going to pick up Chickadee, Nightingale had gone to the gym. While there, she had a protein shake. Unfortunately, it turned out to be made with some of the same stuff as a previous protein shake from there, which had made her quite ill. So now she is feeling pretty awful.

    Since she had forgotten about Chickadee’s visit today until I mentioned it yesterday afternoon, she did not have anything planned, and since she was feeling sick on the way home (she picked Chickadee up after leaving the gym), she did not pick up anything for lunch.

    So I ordered pizza to be delivered for us. Nightingale has been keeping mostly to herself, but Chickadee, Boy, and I have been having a nice time together.

    No cake, DJ, but they just went out to buy donuts. Close enough!
