Prayer Requests 10-29-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

  1. My foster baby is in town…she is 29. We were supposed to get together yesterday but I have had this sinusitis for the past week and didn’t want to expose her if I had something catching. I still have a little stuffiness but feel fine.
She told me last night that she and her husband spent the day in ER with their 5 month old baby girl who tested positive for Covid. Praying for a complete recovery for baby girl and rest in the knowing our Lord is watching over them. She had asked for prayer covering. They were supposed to return to New York tomorrow but that may not happen.

And husband is on his way home. Praying for safety and protection as he makes his way.

  2. Still so much Covid.
Praying for the 5 month old and the 92 y/o friend here who has it and others. It has no respect for age!❤

Praising God for what seems like good news on all my tests.

I did find out I have a subacute fracture of a rib (meaning a fracture is healing). I hurt myself not long ago by stretching from the driver’s side of the Accord to try and grab the door handle on the passenger side which was ajar while I was stopped in traffic. Not a wise move. I had delivered a big pot of mums to my friend whose sister was dying and not completely closed the door. “No good deed . . .”
It was proof it was my bone scan, indeed😀

  3. Please pray that Boy will soon come to know God as his Heavenly Father, and that He can be trusted.

X was supposed to pick up Boy at 10 this morning. Not only did he not show up, but Boy’s calls went to voicemail. He was very upset about that. Around noon, Boy’s Grandma picked him up to drive him to X’s house. (It’s about 25 – 30 minutes away. She shouldn’t have to do that.)

Nightingale told me that no matter what X does, Boy ends up believing his excuses and forgiving him. I said that at this stage in his life, he will continue believing and forgiving, until one day, it will be too much, and he won’t. I hope and pray that by the time that happens, Boy will be saved, and will still forgive his dad, but will not believe his excuses, and will be wiser about trusting him.

Even better would be if they both get saved and X shapes up as a father!

  4. Oh Kare has the due date passed? Praying for safe entry and soon!

Janice isn’t it interesting they can detect past breaks? That must have hurt at the time and I pray your healing is quick and complete

Kizzie i am saddened for boy. How frustrating and confusing it must be for him. Praying he will some day soon know the Father who is always there and never disappoints…as this has been your prayer and that of his grandfather….may it come to pass quickly, bringing peace and the solid foundation on which to build his life. ♥️

  5. Janice, it’s sounding good so far.

Sorry about the rib, how weird but I’m sure it’s not uncommon.

And praying also for the Boy, he’s at an important stage in his young life, changes ahead. Praying he has a good visit despite the disappointing start. Thankful for other grandmother, too, who’s trying to do the right thing in a tough circumstance.

Praying for Kare’s new grand baby, that arrival is soon if it hasn’t already happened.

And for M’s friend who’s facing such an unbelievable life-and-death challenge at such a young age and with her baby’s birth imminent. Overwhelming circumstances, for sure. Lord, be with them.

  6. I thought I’d pulled a muscle on the rib. It was still while I was healing from surgery so it was not my main focus of where I was hurt and seemed minor in comparison. It takes about six weeks for a rib to heal and they don’t really treat it so no need to have it checked out unless the broken rib is poking into the lung and could cause a puncture. This did not cause that much distress.

  7. DJ – Knowing the situation between X and his mom, I wouldn’t be surprised if he browbeat her into driving Boy out there. He is awful to her. But she still will make excuses for him. 😦

So, since she has been brought up here, please pray for salvation for Boy’s Grandma and Grampa.

  8. Janice – What you said about not paying much attention to the rib because of the other pain reminds me of something my dad would say. If I said that something hurt, he would offer to stomp on my foot to distract me from the other pain. 🙂

  9. Boy texted Nightingale to ask her to pick him up (at the end time of the visitation – 6pm) from his great-grandmother’s home in the town X also lives in because X is too tired to drive him home. So X didn’t pick him up and won’t bring him home.

Nightingale agreed, but also told Boy to tell X that she may not always be available to do that, and if he wants her to, he should ask ahead of time.

There is a part of her that would like to stand her ground and refuse, since it is X’s responsibility. But she doesn’t want her son caught in the middle of this any more than he has to be, and they have plans this evening, so she wants to be sure he is home on time.

  10. As she was texting Boy back, Nightingale said to me, “I hate this.” Please pray that her frustration and anxiety over this ongoing situation will draw her into the arms of our Savior.

  11. Dj, copy and paste from Monmouth University:
“The poll also finds that Libertarian candidate, Chase Oliver, is unknown to the vast majority of voters, with just 1% saying they will definitely support him in this election and another 9% lending their probable support. Among voters who have already cast their ballots, Oliver is backed by 4%. If he maintains that level of support in the final vote count, a runoff election would be likely given how close the two major party candidates’ vote shares are currently.”

  12. NancyJill – Nightingale screenshots these things and sends them to her lawyer. You may remember that I mentioned that on the very first day of this new visitation situation, X was already texting me, stirring up some trouble. I remember reading his texts and then saying to myself, “Here we go again.”

  13. Thank you all for prayer covering . Paul arrived home safely last night and this morning I heard from baby girl and her baby girl slept through the night. And she had a smile on her sweet face to greet her mama❣️ She still has symptoms but is recovering! Thank you again for joining with us in prayer❣️

  14. My friend, Florence, spent the night in ICU. I am waiting for an update on her Covid, UTI, and possible heart issue. She is such a dear lady and encouragement to my Bible study group. She has been physically strong and even mentally alert enough to memorize Scripture at age 92. Please pray she can quickly get better. Thank you.

  15. praying for Florence. Such a sweet witness she has been to you and your group Janice…a willing heart and encourager…may He hold her close and bring to her body healing and strength. ♥️

  16. Creepy situation here.

Yesterday, I found a pretty stone left in Nightingale’s mailbox. She told me that it was not just a pretty stone, but lapis lazuli in the rough. I guess another stone was found recently in her mailbox, too, but we didn’t know who put them there.

Today, a neighbor recognized X putting something in Nightingale’s mailbox. He left a bag with a couple or so donuts, a book, a Beanie Boo (cute, small stuffed animal), and a small bouquet of flowers in the mailbox.

Nightingale called the police, because that kind of thing breaches the order of protection. Then she went outside to wait for them to arrive.

At some point (I am fuzzy on when this happened – maybe when she was inside making the call), X had parked in our driveway (most definitely breaching the order of protection). The police arrived, and X appeared coming around the side of our house. Nightingale immediately made sure the officer was between her and X, and then ran over to the yard across the lane. X was arrested and handcuffed.

Nightingale is going to take tomorrow off, and she is going to file an emergency something-or-other (I forget the term) for sole custody. As you may imagine, her anxiety level is through the roof. She is going for a run with our across-the-lane neighbor, Gabby’s-Mom.

As if that isn’t enough, Boy was in the midst of this. They had just returned from taking a walk when they saw the stuff in the mailbox and then X’s car in the driveway. He saw his dad arrested, and is very angry at Nightingale for calling the police on him. He was acting out his anger by punching on a car (not sure which one – maybe hers?), and the officer actually threatened to cuff him and take him in if he didn’t calm down. Instead, Nightingale asked if she could have his other grandparents come and get them. (They also came to pick up X’s car and the dog in the car.)

Please pray for all of them, including X’s parents.

  17. Oops. Got a little detail wrong. When Nightingale went outside to wait for the police, X’s car wasn’t there yet. (As she said to me, if it had been, she wouldn’t have gone outside to wait.) It was when she had come inside briefly to use the bathroom. When she went back out, his car was there, and the police arrived at that time as well.

And she is going for a hike, not a run, with Gabby’s-Mom.

  18. Praying, Kizzie, that sounds very upsetting — but good timing with the arrival of the police.

And good for Nightingale for filing for emergency sole custody.

The mail box thing is very creepy.

  19. Lord, You have seen the whole scenario play out and know all the effects experienced by each person involved. You always know best and want to give good gifts to Your believing children. Please make a pathway of blessing through this storm for Kizzie and her loved ones. I pray that any wedge intentionally planted through X’s actions with be removed by You in a loving way. Please bring Nightingale and Boy to a better understanding of who You are in their lives. Please, may they be drawn to full surrender to You and never look back, but look forward to better days. Thank You for processing in all the situations we can’t understand. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  20. Boy is back home now, but still quite upset with his mom. Knowing X as she does, Nightingale is convinced that X has tried to poison Boy’s mind about her over the years. Even when he was a baby, Nightingale would sometimes hear X saying bad things about her to Boy when he was mad at her.

X had sent a friend request for Snapchat to Nightingale. Before blocking him, she looked at the messages he sent her. The messages were about how he loved her and they were meant to be together (or similar words).

I took a look at his Facebook page. (She has him blocked so cannot access it. Although he and I are not FB friends, I can see the things he posts on the Public setting.) Three days ago, he posted a long rant against his parents, making some accusations against them, and claiming that on one day, his mom had kidnapped Boy and would not let him see him. (That’s not what happened, and he ended up with Boy for his visit anyway.) Then he put their full names, the companies they work for (his step-dad owns his own business), their home address, and their phone numbers in his post.

Seeing things escalating with X, and knowing this is a long-term situation, Nightingale is going to be getting Ring cameras installed, and she is going to take a class to get her pistol permit.

  21. Nightingale was quite annoyed with the officer who responded. After she told him that the protective order has been in place for several years, he said something like:

“So you’ve been seeing him on and off throughout all that time, and only now you’re deciding to report him?”

She firmly told him that no, she has not been seeing him, and that there was another time she reported him for violating the protective order, but the police said it wasn’t bad enough to do anything about. (But it was a violation.)

  22. Kizzie you have had quite a disturbing day. I pray that Boy will be able to see what his Dad is doing and reject that type of treatment. I know he is young to process so much of this but may his affection lie with his Mom who is actually taking care of all his needs.
That officer should know better than to make those sorts of accusatory statements…unprofessional to speak to N in that manner…a bit sexist too if I do say so myself!
Praying for you all and trusting the Lord to make a way….

  23. Boy is having a fit up there, crying that he can’t go to school tomorrow. He is traumatized by this afternoon’s experience, and overtired. Please pray for God’s peace to reign upstairs, and downstairs as well.

  24. Nightingale and Boy had two evenings with fun events on Friday and Saturday. They were having a great weekend. Then this had to happen.

Boy is at the age where he complains about his mom, and thinks she’s too tough, and that she never does anything fun with him (which, in reality, they do quite often). They were having such a nice time together this weekend, and now he is mad at her again. She’s the bad guy in his eyes right now.

I feel sorry for both of them. 😦

  25. Kizzie— if you haven’t done it yet, walk the house, praying protection and the Holy Spirit in every room and around the house outside. I’d walk to the road as well, praying that hedge of protection everywhere that comes to mind.

If it were me, I’d take a look in Boy’s room (you own the house), and see if there’s anything suspicious there. Pray hard in his room and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that seems “off.”

You are the spiritual authority in your home. You need to spiritually protect him. His mom probably is blinded in the spiritual realm.

I’m so sorry for what has happened. I grieve for all three of you.

But you, Kizzie, have a strong and mighty God to empower you, give you wisdom, and strengthen what has been made so very weak.

You can do this. You serve a mighty God who IS strong and who CAN and WILL do exploits.

He particularly loves the single mom, the semi-orphaned children, and widows.

He see, knows, and loves YOU.

Father God we pray from afar for a spiritual hedge of protection about Kizzie’s household. We pray for physical protection and for authorities to see through the lies, obfuscations, and mischief being thrown at Kizzie’s household and family.

Let the truth be revealed and provide Kizzie with the spiritual wisdom and fortitude she needs to fight for her family. Give her wisdom and keen spiritual insight. Provide the words she needs to speak— your Word promises that— fill her with insight and the steps you have made for her to take.

We love you, Lord, and that little family.

Call your pastor and his wife. You need someone to comfort you.
