  1. 🙂 Nightingale and I had one of our mornings of hanging around in the kitchen/dining room area, drinking coffee and chatting about this and that. It has been quite a while since the last time we did that, and it was so nice.

Then she made banana muffins and cheesy scrambled eggs for brunch. Yummy!

  2. 🙂 Neighbors invited me over to sit and enjoy their air-conditioning for a couple hours.

🙂 Someone else is bringing over a portable A/C thing I can borrow for the time being.

    😦 It’s 91 in my house.

  3. So one contractor a month ago said they could do my work in October or November. I thought ok, but I never answered him.

Then my friend said he needs you to respond, he says he never heard from you. actually his email wasn’t very good and didn’t ask for a response. So I finally responded and said yes, I want you to do the work.

😦 Then I heard nothing from him. Not sure what the deal is.
Then I get some responses from this younger guy who lives near here. Met his wife at church last week. Turns out some folks that I know are telling him about me. He called this week, but I was waiting to hear from the first guy.

I emailed the younger guy and said that sounds good, but I am also talking to someone else. Wondering how do I do this and feeling stressed.

Okay, I prayed and knew I had to do it right. So I emailed the older guy and told him I was talking to the younger guy.

🙂 finally heard from the older guy and he says he has me down for 2023 so go ahead if the younger guy can do it.

🙂 🙂 So I quickly emailed the younger guy and told him that and that I would really appreciate it if he could do the work.
    WHEW!!

We will see, I am learning.

  4. Me with the portable a/c — cools only a pretty small area but such a relief, so grateful for the ‘loaner. ‘

Real Estste Guy who had it is moving (one of these days) to Belize and he’d picked it up on a flash sale a year ago or more thinking he’d use it in the house there — it was still in the box and he figured I could use it to get me through this heat spell — my house eventually got up to 95 today, I was feeling almost sick.

  6. 😦 “Rebound” Covid. Just as I was starting to feel almost normal, Saturday I felt a little off again like I did when it was just starting, and sure enough I tested positive again.

Apparently that’s not unusual with the current strains of Covid. It’s been observed a lot after the course of Paxlovid anti-viral medicine I took, but apparently it occurs also with untreated cases, just not studied as much. Usually it’s milder than the original case, and indeed I have no fever and feel better today than I did yesterday, but it’s disappointing to be back in isolation.

Meanwhile KJ turned 30 yesterday and got to celebrate her full recovery by running to the pharmacy for things Mrs B and I needed. Not the birthday we planned for her, but we’ll have a belated celebration later.

Mrs B also seems to be doing well. She came out of strict isolation yesterday just as I went back in, and has been taking care of meals again. It’s “take care of each other” tag.

  7. I just canceled Bible study on Tuesday— 3 ladies have COVID, another is unvaccinated, several are unnerved, heat is terrible, and since it’s the first lesson in Acts, I figured another week wouldn’t hurt.

    Crazy times.
