It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 138
Of David.
1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
2 I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.
3 When I called, you answered me;
you greatly emboldened me.
4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
when they hear what you have decreed.
5 May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
for the glory of the Lord is great.
6 Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
though lofty, he sees them from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
with your right hand you save me.
8 The Lord will vindicate me;
your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
East Coast sister and family started their drive to the Midwest today and will head back on the 7th. Prayers for their safe travels both ways are appreciated. Thanks.

Please pray for our English Camp which starts tomorrow evening. We will have seven Ukrainians mixed in with the Czechs, and having a third language (as well as commuters for the first time) will bring new challenges. However, God knows about it all… pray that He would do a wonderful, transformative work in people’s hearts during this next week!

Prayers 6 for your extended family’s travels and for so many more traveling for the holiday and beyond. Lord, Please give pathways of safety for the traveling masses this week. Please keep angels watching over roadways, airways, and the waterways. May many near accidents be recognized as Your hand of provision keeping people safe. May You protect from adverse weather events as people travel. Thank You for the many good times people will have without experiencing the trauma and delays caused by accidents. Please let that horrid number of traffic fatalities over a holiday period be exceptionally low this year. I pray in Jesus’ precious name, Amen P.S. Still thanking You, God, for how You allowed Art to walk away uninjured from that crash not long ago.

Tychicus, prayers for your group’s wonderful outreach. May it go according to plans and give unexpected divine connections. May everyone involved receive blessings greater than could have been thought or imagined. I pray for a bonding of hearts drawn to love and care through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen

My good friend K and family take off on the 4th of July — already being dubbed the travel “armageddon” in headlines about the coming collision of canceled flights, lost luggage and airport standings — for their long-awaited vacation in Boston and Niagara Falls.
Pray that they somehow slip through without a hiccup, get to their destination on time and make it home also without issues.

This morning 18 flights were already cancelled for today at ATL. I asked Art how many would have been on each plane. If a hundred on each then that would be 1,800. Feeling badly for them all.

Wasn’t sure if I should put this here or on the daily thread, but since it is about praying, I thought it could go here.
A little preface: Knowing that we are to be natural in our prayers, that we don’t have to try to sound fancy or like a psalm in the King James Version, I sometimes wonder if I am “trying to be fancy” with some of my wording because I often pray kind of poetically, with various metaphors and figures of speech. But then I realized that those words come naturally to me in prayer, and that I am not trying to sound like something I’m not.
So anyway, this morning I was praying for God to help Chickadee to break out of having to think like the McK sisters and others with bad influence over her, and to be able to think for herself, but of course, with the Holy Spirit’s leading. As I was praying this, the words that popped into my mind (instead of what I just wrote) were lyrics from the refrain of Cass Elliot’s song “Make Your Own Kind of Music”. 🙂
I prayed that He would help her to “make her own kind of music, sing her own special song”. 🙂
So, if you will, please pray something similar for Chickadee. The influence that the McK sisters and some others (particularly online) has a cult-like grip on her, and I pray for her to be freed from that. Most of all, for her to come to salvation in Christ. (And the same for Nightingale and Boy, and the other unbelieving children of us Wanderers.)
(Note: My use of “cult-like” is not an exaggeration. I’ve been doing some reading from a couple of de-transitioners, and they have written that the online groups that these young people are drawn to are indeed just like a cult, using various methods to influence the thinking of their readers/commenters, including shaming them for daring to think differently.)

Here is the song, for those who may not be familiar with it:

I was praying about Chickadee earlier and also Twenty.
How is Twenty, Mumsee?
Prayers for Chickadee in agreement with all you wrote, Kizzie.
I was thinking earlier how I had probably prayed more for Chickadee and Twenty than maybe anyone else here . . . maybe BG, too.

I very much appreciate your prayers, Janice, and those of others who pray.

Twenty is doing well. She calls husband several times a day, leaving messages, until he finds time to call her back. Some days she is bright and cheery, others, she is unhappy with living there. She was unhappy here as well. But she is not making holes in walls or breaking windows or screens there, or throwing rocks or dead mice at the housemates or staff so I call it good!

It encourages me so much to hear answers to long term prayers!
I am praying today with my Bible study group for someone a few of us in that group know who is rebellious toward Jesus/Father God/Holy Spirit to have an undeniable encounter with God to know He is real and that He loves her. Her name starts with a C. Please pray, if you feel led, with me, and we can expand it to the unsaved children of believers here.

Kizzie, in praying, I think it can be very effective to use God’s very word to pray from. God knows the heart of a person praying whether sincere or for show. No need to worry about how formal your prayers may sound to Him. It sounds like it is between you and Him and not before others anyways so He knows.

Janice – I do that, too, especially when I come across certain scriptures in my Bible reading.

Maybe not as often as I could, though.
I am just thankful that God knows our hearts and is pleased to hear from us in whatever way we can communicate. (Not that it isn’t good to learn and grow in that communication, though, because of course it is.) It is also comforting to know that the Holy Spirit translates, so to speak, our feeble attempts.
