Good morning, all, except good night, Jo, though it is nearly Sunday morning there.
The bird reminds me of the plethora of white pelicans we have down on the Clearwater and other rivers and lakes around here the past few years. Apparently they like salmon and steelhead.
Morning! My immediate thought as well Peter….stealth bird!!
We see those bombers from time to time here. They are amazing to watch…
Warm day around here and they once again put out the “extreme fire danger” warnings. Ugh
It will be a do nothing day for me….this week has been hectic and a breather day is much welcome. Hope ya’ll have a wonderful Saturday….
Good Afternoon Everyone. It has been busy around here this week as you can tell by my absence.
The taxes are done and the checks written. Mr. P will take them Monday and mail priority mail. It made me sick to write them. I guess it is a good problem to have.
Mr. P spent the day in the yard, mowing, edging, and blowing things around. I have been lazy. I somewhat cleaned the kitchen and have lolled about eating bon bons. I may haul myself out to the hammic and lolled some more while I read a book.
I have been entertaining and being entertained by a five year old. We do lots of reading, over and over. I think I have hit one thousand readings on one book, which my fourteen and fifteen are listening to with laughter. They had me read it the first six hundred times.
Oh, I picture Mumsee resting by the creek watching a five year old.
Now introduce her to the tree house!!
a quiet Sunday morning. Looking to do some laundry, wondering if it will rain or allow things to dry.
The tree house will be another year. And when the creek under it is not so full. For now she is happy with the creek across the road and need not know of the other just yet. I like to save things for later.
I had a marvelous day that required getting up at 5:45. Art and I headed north to my day long writer’s retreat. We were there at the start, at 8 a.m. My brother met Art and they headed south driving an hour and a half to the office. Thdy were to retrieve me at 5 p.m. but heavy traffic made it 6 p.m. Then we took my brother to Cracker Barrel for a birthday dinner and the opening of presents. Then Art and I drove 45 minutes to get home. We are tired. Miss Bosley is happy we are home.
The retreat was at a member’s lovely home about twenty minutes from where my brother lives. We played a few games, had time for writing, had a morning and afternoon speaker, and had meals together. There were only about ten or less of us so we had a good chance to chat in depth. This is the group I serve by getting out emails and taking care of the Facebook page. I am gnerously known as Publicist for this group.
Shallow, often willful misunderstandings about God and theology are so readily accepted by unbelievers who think their arguments end the discussion. Which brings us back to the fact that until God regenerates and softens the heart, the understanding and willingness to go deeper won’t be there.
Seen on Twitter tonight:
~ Lots of Christians saying that women with ectopic pregnancies should just die because that’s god’s will is the best explanation as to why I left religion. For most people, faith is a comfort blanket. For many, though, it’s a fantasy world that actively harms others. ~
And we believers need to have our ears open to actually hear what the other side is saying. That is one of the areas where it is so important to be listening to the Spirit He knows the hearts and what the real need is.
Happy Mother’s Day, all. Where would we be if not for our mother’s? Well, I suppose like so many who have perished due to abortion, but even they had mothers.
And, yes, fathers but it is mother’s day, not father’s day. Though it would be impossible to be a mother without the help of a father. Todays’ not politically correct statement of the day.
Yes, I was accused by my sister of wanting my niece to die because of an ectopic pregnancy. She was screaming in a restaurant and there was no response that would be received. There still is not. She and her family (and others I know) believe pro-lifers do nothing for anyone after birth and that we want all other pregnant women to suffer and die. Prayers for ears to hear and hearts to understand is about all you can do. I no longer talk in circles to these people. I just pray for them.
Happy Mother’s Day to all. Friday Little Miss gave me flowers, a MiMi keychain, and a lovely card. Either she or Papa gave me a necklace or one or the other gave me the earrings to match with another card from her and one from him. Then yesterday he could Nathan’s it no longer and gave me a summery top to wear casually. It it lavender with tiny white daisies.
This morning he is making popovers and bacon with orange juice. I should probably keep them both.
BG has been texting me. I have encouraged her to spend time with her Nana today and come over later for hamburgers.
Nana will be 84 in June and is starting to slow down. None of us are going to know what to do when we lose her. Hopefully she has several more years.
May Gray has descended here; overcast and 60 degrees, I’m running the heater for the first time in weeks. I’ve been under the weather for a few days, so I’m live streaming the service today.
Morning…or afternoon.
Windy windy windy around here! A gust of wind almost knocked me over as we were walking into church…husband caught my arm to steady me…whew!
The message was exhorting, encouraging and downright refreshing. After service little Abigail, our Pastor’s 5 year old, handed the ladies a long stemmed red rose. What a joy is she! One young woman who is not married told Abby that she was not a mother but Abby said “oh that’s ok….you need this rose”! ♥️
a quiet day for me, but now I have the singles van to use this week until I find someone to give me a jump start.
So happy that California is getting some rain and snow.
I keep doing little chores around here for packing.
I was going to give away the winter squash that I had, but discovered it was rotten so threw it down into the pit. Now I have to clean off the shelf it was on.
Also I opened a tote that i had in the entryway. It was my earthquake preparedness tote. Interesting to see what was in it. Since the 7.2 quake we had several years ago was in the middle of the night, I had some clothes in there and a flashlight, etc. Discovered two tops that I had no idea were there. And it was well sealed as there was not even any dust inside.
That sounds wonderful, Mumsee. Every single day should be Mother’s Day for you!
I got a text and call from son. At church the mothers were mentioned along with recognition of how it is a difficult day for some. There were no gifts handed out which was fine by me.
Today’s sermon was on the Holy Spirit (first in a series). I did buy a $10.00 workbook for Secret Church which is for a 6 hour study on identity in Christ. I look forward to working through that.
Just listened a second time to Jordan Peterson give the Hillsdale commencement address. I wanted the children to hear it. They actually got some things out of it.
The shape and color of that bird reminds me of the B-2 Stealth bombers we used to see when we lived near Whiteman Air Force Base east of Kansas City.

Little girl has discovered the joys of the creek. She had not noticed it in her many excursions so I brought it to her attention. Hours of enjoyment.

Another afternoon in the creek. Between snow storms. She did very well in church this morning, we don’t have anything special for children.
