It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 95
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,
8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,
as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested me;
they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’”
Remembering D and I with Kare this morning, may God be glorified in them as He reveals His Truth.

Praying for our children and grandchildren to gain a heart of wisdom–first for the fear of God and then how to live a godly life. Second, to not believe the 20 second soundbites, but to really think things through by renewing their minds with God’s word and through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Thinking of all those memes coming through about women having control over ‘their’ bodies etc.

My prayer for this turn of events is that parishioners would be able to minister to those who would hate them, when they come to “visit.”
It’s only Jesus’ love that will be touch their ravaged hearts.

I think of the scene in Friendly Persuasion when the band of Confederate soldiers swept onto the Indiana Quaker ranch, behaving threateningly — and they were met with offers of water and food.
(Though the woman of the house did take after them, pounding them with a broom, when they tried to catch, with malevolent intentions, the pet goose. But she threw down the broom and repented sincerely afterward.)

Prayer for my neighbors who will learn today what the plan is for surgery to repair husband’s aortic aneurysm. They have a lot on their plate right now.

Sitting here in tears. I screwed up with my last two piano students tonight. They — siblings — were supposed to each have 45-minute lessons instead of their usual 30 minutes, both this week and next week, to make up the time for the week I canceled when I had covid.
I wrote it in my business calendar and then forgot to refer to it today and didn’t remember that that was how I’d arranged that family’s reschedule. So I dismissed them at their normal times tonight. Their mom usually picks them up, but tonight it was their dad, and he’d been told by the mom that the boys would each have longer lessons, so he was confused when the first boy came out to the car after 30 minutes instead of 45, and then the second boy 30 minutes after his brother.
Mom sent me an email tonight with an angry-face emoji about the confusion.
NOT the way I wanted to end the week. 😦 😦
I am overreacting, but I feel pretty close to the end of my rope.

Also, if you could pray as Monday approaches, the day 5th Arrow has the last of his testing. It’s a 3-hour appointment, and then we find out the results of all his testing on May 16.
One of the reasons I didn’t want to be teaching that week — I feel like I’m going to need processing time between the May 16th appt. and 3rd Arrow’s May 21st wedding.
This month is so overwhelming already, less than a week in. We really need prayers here.
