Prayer Requests 4-27-22

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 86

A prayer of David.

Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
    for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
    save your servant who trusts in you.
   You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
    for I call to you all day long.
Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
    for I put my trust in you.

You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
    abounding in love to all who call to you.
Hear my prayer, Lord;
    listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you,
    because you answer me.

Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;
    no deeds can compare with yours.
All the nations you have made
    will come and worship before you, Lord;
    they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
    you alone are God.

11 Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
   give me an undivided heart,
    that I may fear your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
    I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
    you have delivered me from the depths,
    from the realm of the dead.

14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
    ruthless people are trying to kill meβ€”
    they have no regard for you.
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
    slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
16 Turn to me and have mercy on me;
    show your strength in behalf of your servant;
   save me, because I serve you
    just as my mother did.
17 Give me a sign of your goodness,
    that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
    for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

  1. Praise: I got a full night’s uninterrupted sleep! That happens rarely — once every couple, few years or so. What a perfect time for deep rest, when recovering from covid. Thank you, Lord!

    Strange, though, to wake up at 5:15am and realize I’d slept straight through since 9pm. Then I got myself a drink of water, went back to bed, and promptly fell asleep until 7:30!

    I feel whole again. πŸ™‚

  2. Just about as close to heaven as I can imagine. πŸ™‚

    The one piano lesson today went well. First time zooming with that student. It’s so much fun to meet family pets on zoom — one cat jumped right onto the girl’s lap during her lesson. I was introduced to the other cat, too.

    The best, though, was meeting little 4-year-old brother at the end of the lesson. He wanted to show me his monster trucks and tell me their names. πŸ˜‰ I heard this crash-bang-boom in the background before he appeared on camera. Big sis / piano student told me that was the sound of him carting his stuff down the stairway to the piano room. πŸ™‚

    Oh, what fun!

  3. Forgot to mention this earlier!

    Tomorrow is a court date for Nightingale and X. He has petitioned the court (I guess that’s the correct phrase) to end the need for his visits with Boy to be supervised, and for more time with him. There may have been something else, but I don’t remember.

    Please pray that things will go in Nightingale’s favor, which would be for the visits to continue to be supervised, as she does not trust X. But most of all, for God’s will to be done – in this custody case, and in Boy’s life, Nightingale’s life, and X’s life. Thank you.

    (I will post this again on tomorrow’s prayer thread.)
