Good night all. I am tired. I just sent out another newsletter. Michelle’s group still will not go, so it will get sent one by one tomorrow.
I got the quote from the travel agent. It is just way too much flying with not enough breaks. So i am trying to see what else I can do.
The trouble is, I need to make sure they have an agreement with Air Niugini so I can check my bags through. So many details….
So I am looking at an 8 hour flight with at least a six hour layover. Then another almost 8 hour flight with a 2 hour layover, yikes, then a sixteen hour flight then a 1 1/2 hour flight. I need a break. So thinking of trying to come direct to California from Singapore. rather then go through Qatar.
It is quite complicated
Good morning, Sleepy Wanderers, and Early Risers (who did not have time to post yet because duty called).
I have Bible study with the ladies by Zoom this a.m. The leader travels a good bit so maybe that is why it is by Zoom, but also, since the church facility is so small, sometimes the one room with the screen is not available. We need the screen to use for those who Zoom in to Bible study group from home.
Good morning, all, except goodnight, Jo, though it is nearly Wednesday there. Halfway through the week already. If only those long flights could go so quickly!
Morning all! It will be warming up around here and all of the 1/2 inch of snow that was on the ground yesterday morning is all but a memory…. 😞
Praying the Lord will work out all of the details for you Jo…good night
Breaking it up would be a great option, if you can afford a vacation.
(Tickets to Israel for us this fall are so high I’m afraid to purchase them–even though they may go higher. Jerusalem is 1500 miles due south of Odessa. That’s a problem for me, too).
This morning, before we had to leave for my appointment with my audiologist and ear doctor (two people, one office), Nightingale made breakfast. She had started it a little later than she should have so we had to scramble to get out the door on time, and were still almost five minutes late.
When we arrived and I was about to get out of the car, I looked down and realized that I was still wearing my slippers! Had a good laugh about that! They are LL Bean slippers, which some people do wear in public, so it wasn’t too embarrassing, but embarrassing nonetheless. And I did mention it to my audiologist, who was amused.
I once almost wore sheep (rather than bunny) slippers to work. Looked down as I was heading down the front steps and laughed out loud. They were very cute, wool with one half of a sheep on one foot and continuing with the other half of the sheep on the other foot.
I would not have noticed. I take great consolation in that. There are others out there who do not care what I wear so when I forget and wear my slippers (and I have) it is okay. Maybe that is why I no longer wear slippers.
Sheep slippers padding around the port complex with all that heavy equipment would probably also be a little risky.
I think I got those about 10-12 years ago. Strange to think those were the days when the dogs were young and I was leaving to actually go somewhere to work, down the front steps no less, with a more functioning left knee.
Sigh.
Of course, on the plus side, working from home allows you to wear slippers all day if you’re so inclined (I usually am not). I feel much more producing taking an early shower and getting dressed — even if it’s in sweats or a T-shirt and jeans with my trusty New Balance shoes — on work days.
I guess I pretty much look the same on non-work days though.
If I need to actually go out in to the field to cover something I will dress a little nicer.
I found Jo’s newsletter in my junk mail, moved it, and read it. Very nice! Prayers for you, Jo, as you make this journey into a new life. My frirnd, retired from work in the Philippines, is still adjusting three years into retirement. Of course Covid was a great hindrance to forming new routines. Hopefully you won’t be so restricted like that.
It’s chilly out. I had to put on my hoodie. It was 84 yesterday afternoon, and it is 62 now. Wacky weather this year! I wanted to mow, but we got rain earlier so I prefer to let things dry out.
My old phone did not have auto-correct, but my new phone does. I was frustrated the other day trying to send a text to Chickadee. Years ago, I came up with a silly expression – “I love you many muches” – and was trying to text that, but the phone absolutely would not let me, even when I tried changing its “correction”. 😦
up and at em and time to email the travel agent. Got a nice email from michelle, but can’t figure it out as she was in the group that it said did not send?????
Oh sheep slippers!! 😊 🐑
I got out of the house and mailed a couple cards, stopped in at the bank to change my middle name on the account, then headed into town to DSW and Nordstrom Rack. I found a couple cute summery tops, a dress and a sweater. Then at DSW I found a pair of Bob’s sneakers that have dog faces all over them…really cute and comfortable. Transitioning from winter to summer around here…..
While I was gone Pip got into trouble. She pulled all the moss from the base of a plant in the corner making a huge mess….someone’s owner was not supervising very well! Then husband told me that the plants I have in the corner were bone dry so he watered them….they are fake plants!!! 😂
Law and Order is on, and I need to fix dinner for Art. He just got home. My brother calls about now as it gets dark and he can’t work outside any longer. This was last day of classes for Wesley.
I’ve named this fish Jane. She is very plain. Although she wears that sparkly makeup on her cheeks, with the matching eyeshadow. Lights up her big old eyes. It’s quite lovely really, for a plain fish. 🙂
I wore my shirt inside out once to a store. I noticed when I went to try on a jacket. I was near the fitting room, so it was easy to change.
We may break a low record for cold tomorrow. Worse are the cloudy days. Everyone is so ready for decent weather, but it seems it will be slow in coming.
The police have caught the person responsible for the death of the ten-year-old girl. Sadly, it is a juvenile. No other details are out because of that. I am sure the whole community is relieved.
Fishing opener is supposed to be in two weeks. The news just showed that there is still two feet thick ice on one of the big lakes here. I think getting a boat out might be a problem. 😉

Sleep well. 🙂

Good night, Jo. God IS in the details, all the way home♡ Be patient and wait upon the Lord to work it all out in His timing and ways.
Have you considered a short vacay along the way home, maybe at a retreat center?

I don’t envy you, jo, when it comes to those long flights.

It may be your last time to fly around the world.
Is that good or bad?

Can you fly into Australia and home from there?

That sounds tiring and complicated, Jo.
I received my newsletter, read it this morning before I even got out of bed.

At least they weren’t bunny slippers. 😀

My hearing has decreased somewhat. I will be getting new hearing aids, which will be programmed accordingly to my new hearing level.

I hate spell check or auto ‘correct’ or whatever they’re calling it these days.

I got it. I asked about your new email address–did I miss it in your email, Jo? (Do NOT post it here!)

Jo, I didn’t get your email this time. I don’t know if that’s helpful or not in figuring out what’s gone out or not.
Sunny day here, but oh, so windy. Hoping it’s helping the snow disappear.
It took over 2 hours but I was finally able to cancel a credit card we hadn’t used for several years.
NancyJill, I’d like to find some cute shoes with puppies on them, but it seems like here I go from rubber boots straight to flip flops.

I once got to the school before discovering that my shirt was inside out. It was early enough there were no students there yet.

Elizabeth’s is being picked up by Cheryl and I late Friday morning. 🙂
Everyone is excited to have her home. 🙂
She needs to get a job.🙄
We will share the health related news with her after we get home. 😦

Nightingale once came home from being out and about, and as she was relaxing on my couch, she looked down and realized that her top was on backwards.

Next up Thurs will be the caiman.
Be very afraid…… 😨😱🐊🐊
Or not.
OK, probably not, since it’s only about 2 feet long…. 🙂
But when he’s in the middle of a zoomed in shot, he looks much scarier. Terrifying even…. 🦖
OK, OK, again, not really….. more like…. 🦎
