Prayer Requests 4-7-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 71

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
    let me never be put to shame.
In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
    turn your ear to me and save me.
Be my rock of refuge,
    to which I can always go;
   give the command to save me,
    for you are my rock and my fortress.
Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
    from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.

For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,
    my confidence since my youth.
From birth I have relied on you;
    you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
    I will ever praise you.
I have become a sign to many;
    you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise,
    declaring your splendor all day long.

Do not cast me away when I am old;
    do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
10 For my enemies speak against me;
    those who wait to kill me conspire together.
11 They say, “God has forsaken him;
    pursue him and seize him,
    for no one will rescue him.”
12 Do not be far from me, my God;
    come quickly, God, to help me.
13 May my accusers perish in shame;
    may those who want to harm me
    be covered with scorn and disgrace.

14 As for me, I will always have hope;
    I will praise you more and more.

15 My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds,
    of your saving acts all day long—
    though I know not how to relate them all.
16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord;
    I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.
17 Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
    and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18 Even when I am old and gray,
    do not forsake me, my God,
   till I declare your power to the next generation,
    your mighty acts to all who are to come.

19 Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens,
    you who have done great things.
    Who is like you, God?
20 Though you have made me see troubles,
    many and bitter,
    you will restore my life again;
   from the depths of the earth
    you will again bring me up.
21 You will increase my honor
    and comfort me once more.

22 I will praise you with the harp
    for your faithfulness, my God;
   I will sing praise to you with the lyre,
    Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will shout for joy
    when I sing praise to you—
    I whom you have delivered.
24 My tongue will tell of your righteous acts
    all day long,
   for those who wanted to harm me
    have been put to shame and confusion.

  1. Everything went well and he is out walking..not running. They biopsy a lot of tissue!!
    The results should be back in a week and doctor will call. He has the first available appt with doc the first week of May. We just wait upon the Lord and thank you all for covering us in prayer.

  2. Please say a prayer for Brenda. She is the listing agent on a property and I wrote an offer on it for someone Tuesday night.
    She has been scatterbrained and I was getting frustrated with her until she told me she was in the surgeons office to talk about having cancer removed from her face. She started crying when I asked if I could have you pray for her.

  3. Covering Brenda in prayer and thankful the Lord has you there for her. Thank you Kim for bringing her to us so that we could pray ❤️ I am so often in awe knowing He gathers together those who He will for such a time as this.

  4. Well I’m back to freaking out again.

    The surgery center had a cancelation tomorrow, so now they are scheduling me then instead of the end of the month. They will put me under, biopsy it and remove what they can, and check my kidneys too. If necessary, I may need a catheter for a few days afterward. Hopefully I won’t, we’ll see. My anxiety level is pretty high right now.

  5. Heavenly Father,
    I lift up Brenda today who has a great burden. You know her fears, Lord. You know the cause. Please give her Your peace and comfort that passes understanding. Please help her overcome whatever the results will be. May she feel well loved by family and friends through it all. I ask that You would take away feelings of despair and replace them with bravery, courage, and a grabbing on to You with all she’s got so she sees only You and not her fears. You are bigger, mightier, and our powerful changer of what seems bad to good. May Brenda know Your ever abiding presense today and every day of her life. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. Please pray for Art. He stayed at the office last night. Bad weather hit and knocked out power from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. when he would have gotten a lot done. He sounded discouraged when we talked on the phone this a.m. Thanks for praying.

  7. The Real, this is a praise. Rather than spending a month worrying, it will be done. And they think it important enough to get to it. And you will be under. All good. The recovery will be trying but that is later. For now, rest in Him. We are praying for you that you will receive His peace. He loves you and He loves Cheryl and daughter. A Father gives good gifts.

  8. Praying for Brenda and Art. Recall, daughter just went through the same with her facial mole. A relief to get it done, but a stress of not knowing.

  9. Praying, this is quite the list these days.

    AJ, yikes again, but mumsee makes a good point about just getting it over with sooner rather than later. Praying for you, brother.

    My elder had asked for an update from me several days ago so I just sent him a rather long text (which is how we initially connect, then phone after that when needed and/or connecting in person after church).

    Tomorrow I take both dogs in to the vet, which will be a logistical challenge to begin with, Real Estate Guy will help me with getting them into the Jeep, but not sure how early or late we’ll be on the road, depends on successfully getting Cowboy rousted from the dog bed and ready to go. It may also be the day I will have to say goodbye to him 😦

    Just a very stressful time overall right now for me.

    I’m getting up from the desk frequently just to walk out onto the front porch to stretch, breathe and pray.

    Continue to pray for my neighbors as well — all quiet on the drug-problem side, adult son is back but seems to be under control, playing his music in the garage but not overly loud and seems to be only in spurts, with breaks in between, not ongoing all day long at loud volumes (he has a court date coming up on the 12th, I believe).

    Other neighbors continue to grapple with what’s ahead for them as Rhyan will be going in for the aorta surgery asap, but no date yet. They’re trying to figure out in home care for Shirley will need someone with her, but I’m thinking that between the family (one son & his wife was over last night) and their other part-time caregiver they might work it out, though I’ve indicated I’m available for whatever might be needed. I’ve offered to deal with the trash cans, taking them down and back up, as long as needed — I’m quite sure Rhyan will be told not to exert himself for some time after the surgery.

    Meanwhile, Shirley’s very stressed over all of this (she stresses out easily), she’s very worried about her husband and is still dealing the prospect that she may be wheelchair bound going forward. Not something she wanted to hear from her doctor, of course.

    For me, also pray for opportunities to quietly and gently share the gospel in the days, weeks and months ahead and to find opportunities to serve and love my neighbors.

  10. I was given my appt. time. I’m to be at the hospital at noon tomorrow, no food or liquids after midnight. 😦

    I can live with the not eating until around 4 tomorrow, it’s the no liquids part that stinks. I’ve grown accustomed to 7 bottles of water a day, and now I can’t have any for that 16 hours. Oh well.

  11. Dear Aj we cover you in prayer asking our Lord to calm the nerves and anxious feelings. I am believing it is by His Hand that this will be done quickly and I am trusting for a good report. I am thinking perhaps while you are out you will have an IV which will hydrate your body and the thirst sensation won’t be an issue…praying to that end….we love you brother

    Praying for you too Dj…finding myself weeping with you at the possibility….

    Praying for Art…what a stressful night!

  12. Oh, I just found out about AJ’s procedure tomorrow. I posted about Art before I looked back to see other posts.

    Heavenly Father,
    Thank You for making a clear path through what AJ is facing tomorrow. Thank You for being with him and his family as they prepare to go through this. I ask that You will give him a boost in his faith in You and how You will carry him through being his buffer against nagging fears and imaginings of worst case scenarios which bother people during this time of waiting. I pray for all the team to be well and feeling good as they each do their assigned duties. May it be a quick and easy procedure. You know how to make a smooth path to wellness, Lord. Please let this be an easy path so AJ can feel upbeat about it all in a couple of days if not sooner. I pray that he will not get nausea from anesthsia. May the level of meds given be just the right level. Thank You that he has loved ones standing by and being supportive of him. May he feel covered by our prayers and lifted continuously as we wake from sleep and pray at night and off and on during the day. We are a mighty praying force. I know You hear our fervent prayers and because of Jesus we are each counted as righteous. We await Your good news about AJ’s recovery and that things are not as bad as he anticipates. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
