Last Sunday after the worship service we held a baby shower for our Pastorβs family who are expecting their first girl, already having two sons. I was the the instigator and thus the project leader so hand-picked an awesome team of four others. We pulled off a classy brunch with fun games, beautiful decorations, and onesie decorating. It felt especially wonderful because it was our first real event coming out of the pandemic. Since our Pastor has a wonderful sense of humor, I made him a βburp stoleβ out of baby flannel with a cross on each end and a descending dove on the peak in the back. He loved it. Included in the box with it, I inserted a little card that read, βweβve been trying to reach you about your car warranty,β which really cracked him up.
Such wonderful raves! π The shower sounds like a lot of fun.
π¦ Ukraine.
π¦ Our own government. π¦
π¦ The lack of civil discussion going on in institutions and society in general.
π Brave and generous people meeting the needs of so many.
π¦ The young man who was taken by the Russians off a bus while trying to flee Ukraine. Prayers for him, his wife, children and the family here in MN. Prayers, too for the man who was born in a small town near us, who lost his life in Ukraine. Just so many displaced and killed. I am glad it all does not rest on my shoulders and that God does know and care.
Our extended family (when we used to still get together) had a brunch to celebrate our California cousin/nephew/son/etc. visiting his east coast relatives for the first time in several years, and also it was my uncle’s birthday.
I had a selection of generic but cute cards, and gave one of them to my uncle. He embarrassed me by making a snarky remark about it being that kind of card. π¦ (Sadly, he was the kind of guy to do that sort of thing, and I shouldn’t have been surprised nor embarrassed.)
π Dear friends of my aunt delivered their baby safely in the hospital in Zaporizhzhya a few days ago. They were able to take an ambulance to the hospital and delivered safely. Baby is now home and they need to find a spot for her in their bomb shelter.
π¦ Head colds and missing church YET again.
Kizzie, I like generic cards because my husband is way more eloquent than the store bought comments.
π We’re having a nice long stretch of above freezing weather – so wonderful to be outside and feel the warmth of the sun.
Hope you get it, mumsee, in time. We spent all day at home after getting a phone message about a Fed Ex package being delivered today instead of on Monday when we expected it. Except it never came, so I suspect it will come on Monday after all. It needs to be signed for, so we do need to be here. Not sure why the mix up.
π I have Monday off but it will be busy with picking up dog meds, getting my home office chair fixed & getting to the Credit Union.
π We got a little bit of rain overnight. But our mega drought continues and we can expect getting charged for using too much water this spring and summer.
Splendid day with friends-old and new.
We hiked down a dry river bed, saw petroglyphs, talked, admired dry dry scenario and talking, talking, talking.
Spent the afternoon sharing music with her friends and ended with terrific Mexican food.
And now flying home for an Adorable birthday party.
Thank you all for joining me in my shaking prayers three years ago.
God is good. I am thankful.

Confession is good for the soul, right?
I just bought the birthday present at the airport gift shop. Sigh.

I was able to like the first two comments, but not yours, Kathaleena. Wonder what’s going on.

Yes, well now all that degrading myself and buying the gift in the gift shop is lost–along with the luggage! LOL
Party is tomorrow, so there’s still time . . .

DJ – Could you get those things done early so that you have the rest of the day to rest and relax?
