Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 52
1 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
Why do you boast all day long,
you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
2 You who practice deceit,
your tongue plots destruction;
it is like a sharpened razor.
3 You love evil rather than good,
falsehood rather than speaking the truth.
4 You love every harmful word,
you deceitful tongue!
5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent;
he will uproot you from the land of the living.
6 The righteous will see and fear;
they will laugh at you, saying,
7 “Here now is the man
who did not make God his stronghold
but trusted in his great wealth
and grew strong by destroying others!”
8 But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.
9 For what you have done I will always praise you
in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name,
for your name is good.
Prayer for oldest daughter as she continues to deal with vertigo and nausea from the procedure.

What is going on with not being able to “like” comments? For the record, I “liked” Kathaleena’s and Mumsee’s comments at the end of yesterday’s prayer thread, and Mumsee’s request above.
You can all assume that whatever prayer request or praise is mentioned on this thread today, I would “like” if I could. 🙂

Pray for my neighbors as they navigate the crisis with the son — and pray especially for their safety, for now it seems to be an ongoing and very dangerous situation.
And prayers for him, the son, that God will move in his soul — and that there would be those who could come alongside to help him to help guide a change in his life direction. Pray that God would restrain any bent for violence and harming others and himself.

Someone shared some info that has yet to be confirmed that if we have proof that the US will allow us to enter unvaccinated, then we can board flights here.

Things are loosening up, Faraway. Keep an eye on it. I have no insight at the moment.

… And God decides maybe we all need a little more humbling …

Part of the good message of the sermon today was about our humbling and being only clay vessels.

God’s grace is truly amazing. Although we are merely clay vessels, we are precious and important to Him as His beloved children.

Humbling? Or repentance? 😦

Our relative who struggles with mental illness was brought by ambulance to the hospital today. My husband did talk with him just before that. Husband did not pick up on the clues that he needed help right away. The relative thinks God is telling him not to take his meds. I am unsure if someone keeps pushing him in this direction or why this is suddenly an issue again. It doesn’t take long off medication for him to have disturbing symptoms. Please pray for him and all involved in the help he needs right now.

The point was about what God fills those vessels with . . . He can use them for good things!

Prayers for him, Kathaleena. It would be good to find out why he keeps thinking he should go off of them.
Heavenly Father, You are aware of what is going on in this man’s life and in his mind. Please guide those who try to get him back on track to know the best course and how to insure he stays on his meds. I pray the proper dosage will make him feel so much better that he will not be tempted to go off them again. Please give monitoring systems and checkpoints that can help him to function as well as possible with his condition. Thank you for loving those who have mental problems and bringing compassionate people into their lives. Please help those who care to have wisdom in how best to help. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

Mental illness: sometimes it is people trying to be helpful telling them to get off,
sometimes it is the voices in their own heads telling them to get off.
Sometimes it is because they are feeling so good, they convince themselves they don’t need them anymore.
They need to get to the point where they know it is the meds keeping them level.
Or, at least, that is my experience. No, not personally, but from what I have seen and read and heard.

Friend I got to know some 20+ years ago when she wanted to get a dog park in town — and I covered those stories — was diagnosed with mental illness maybe 10 years ago and refused to take any meds or accept any other treatment. She became so out of control that her parents eventually had to evict her from the home.
She now lives on the streets. Several of the “dog community” have tried helping out, the counselor and her outreach team handling homelessness in the community have connected with her on several occasions, but she’s consistently refused any assistance, including even temporary shelter.
I was contacted by another long-ago dog park acquaintance just a few weeks ago, he and another dog park friend, an attorney — both were there when the park got started — just found out about her predicament and are trying to help now.
The one person who’s been the closest contact — she stops by and gives her money and once worked in a home for the mentally ill so is very familiar with the condition — said she’s afraid she’ll just die on the streets eventually.
It’s really so sad, but everyone feels quite helpless. Her mom wound up in an Alzheimer’s facility, her dad died last October. There are other family members and I think several have tried to help her — she lived with an aunt for a while — but ultimately … ? Without treatment, which she has to accept, there’s not a lot that can be done.
(She’s also very paranoid — schizophrenia is one of the diagnoses along with bi-polar — so even offers of help are viewed with suspicion.)
