  1. Think of the children, right Dems?

    “School District Sends Letter Saying They’ll Label Unmasked Students a ‘Clear and Present Danger’ and Prosecute Parents for Truancy”

    https://redstate.com/jenvanlaar/2022/02/04/school-district-sends-letter-saying-theyll-label-unmasked-students-a-clear-and-present-danger-and-prosecute-parents-for-truancy-n517561

    “It’s as if Kamala Harris is still the Attorney General in California.

    Facing a wave of students peacefully protesting mask mandates by simply showing up to school unmasked, administrators all over the country are doubling down – leaving elementary school students outside with no coats on a cold day, unsupervised; attempting to barricade high school students in an unheated gymnasium; making them sit on the curb without desks, a teacher, or work; denying them access to the school; and labeling them a “clear and present danger to the life, safety, or health of a pupil or school personnel” in order to legally exclude them from campus.

    A school district outside Stockton, California, in the state’s Central Valley, is proactively warning parents about what will happen if their children show up to school unmasked (possibly in support of the students in neighboring Oakdale). In a letter distributed Thursday, Ripon Unified School District told parents to “remove your students from campus unless they wear a face covering,” and that failure to do so “would force the District to consider taking other potential actions which the District would rather avoid, if possible, including”:

    Labeling the presence of their child a “clear and present danger to the life, safety, or health of a pupil or school personnel,”
    Contacting county Child Protective Services without even contacting the parents first “as they have been abandoned on campus by you,”
    Identifying the children as truants and refer them to a School Attendance Review Board “which could result in criminal charges against” parents,
    Dis-enrolling the children from school,
    Filing for a restraining order in Superior Court which would prohibit children from attending District schools unless they wear a mask indoors on campus.
    I’d like to say we’ve reached peak insanity, but I don’t want to tempt fate.”

  2. It’s for the kids…..

    Just not these kids….

    “CA Middle School Forces Unmasked Students to Sit On Curb, Unsupervised”

    https://redstate.com/jenvanlaar/2022/02/04/ca-middle-school-forces-unmasked-students-to-sit-on-curb-unsupervised-n517394

    “Students across California aren’t taking it anymore, and administrators are becoming increasingly evil and dangerous in their retaliation. Friday morning a group of students in the San Juan Unified School District showed up unmasked to protest mask mandates that they’re forced to endure while the man who instituted them gallivants around the state flashing his unmasked pearly whites, and they were kicked to the curb.

    Actually, they were sent to the curb, to sit on a street corner outside school grounds, unsupervised. Given the trajectory of school administrator abuse in this country, a literal “kicking” to the curb isn’t out of the realm of possibility.”

    Because this is an idiotic violation of the law by school officials. You don’t barricade doors/exits you idiots.

    “High School Claims They Didn’t Barricade Unmasked Students in Gym; Tables Were Just Accidentally Placed in Front of Each Exit”

    “As we reported Thursday night, a high school in Oakdale, California barricaded students who came to school without a mask in the school gym and wouldn’t turn the heat on. Eventually police were called to the scene to turn on the heat, but we’ve now learned that by that time many of the students had moved the barricades – which were folding tables strategically placed in front of all of the exits – and marched up to the district office, where they joined a group of parents already protesting mask mandates.”

  4. Maybe it’s time to “give kids back their childhood”…..

    ““You may personally think this ad is BS or whatever,” tweeted Tim Miller to his left-leaning followers about the N2 America spot embedded below. “But as a political matter, giving your opponents the ability to run an ad like this is a big self-own. And clock is ticking on fixing it.”

    This is the message that’s going to turn a good midterm cycle for Republicans into a great one:”

  5. Don’t forget what the Covid scolds have wrought.

    “Never Forgive or Forget the Enablers of the Destructive Covid Panic”

    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/01/never_forgive_or_forget_the_enablers_of_the_destructive_covid_panic.html

    “After nearly two years of America pursuing politically motivated policies to “eradicate” an unstoppable respiratory virus, an increasing number of liberal politicians, commentators, and publications have begun to speak out about the failures and human cost of lockdowns and the vaccine/mask mandates. They, along with many on the right, are applauding those who now claim that government Covid policy was a “catastrophic moral crime.”

    Who are these charlatans that are embarking on a campaign to exonerate themselves from their complicity in a “catastrophic moral crime”? Many of them were at the forefront of spreading ideologically motivated lies. The bureaucrats, the politicians, and the Democrat party mouthpieces in the corporate media lied about the virus because they believed that honesty would not generate sufficient fear and trepidation in the overall population to justify the institution of a quasi-police state and the unconstitutional revamping of election law in key states.

    These are the people who 22 months ago chose to ignore statistics from Italy and other countries, as well as the writings of world-renowned scientists that refuted the fictitious justification for mass societal lockdowns. Instead, they reflexively regurgitated any and all government-sponsored falsehoods. Further, they mindlessly continued to do so during the entirety of the pandemic.

    Regardless of the actual data or the human cost, they marched in lockstep to whatever the leftist-dominated federal medical bureaucracy and the self-serving Democrat party hierarchy declared as being indisputable.

    These are the people who vociferously condemned, ostracized, and demanded censorship of those medical professionals and conservative journalists that knew not to trust the media and the medical bureaucracy and who shouted from the rooftops that the nation had embarked on a calamitous course. The social media oligarchs, soon to disavow their part in the “catastrophic moral crime,” played their role in making certain that dissenting voices, particularly in the medical community, were irrevocably silenced. ”

    Had 2020 not been a presidential election year and Donald Trump not been the incumbent, the lies, the lockdowns, the unwarranted closure of schools, the suppression of existing therapeutics, the deliberate obfuscation of deaths due to Covid-19, the premeditated erosion of individual liberties, the unending decrees and the near-criminal mandates for a one-size-fits-all experimental vaccine with unknown long-term side effects would not have happened.

    The underlying motivation of the unhinged reaction to Covid-19 was the fanatical determination by the ruling elites to defeat at any cost, including historically unprecedented lockdowns and massive election fraud, Donald Trump, and his populist movement. A movement that represented an existential threat to their quest for political hegemony. The potential damage spawned by this obsession and any resultant catastrophic carnage to the nation and the lower and middle classes was never considered.

    Unthinkingly succumbing to the never-ending fear-mongering, far too many on the right and the Republican Party, by default, also aided and abetted this endgame.”

    “The end-product of the calculated politicization and exploitation of a respiratory virus is the nearly endless litany of damage done to the American people and this nation.

    Among them are:

    The permanent closure of nearly 40% of all small businesses in the United States;
    The 50% increase in attempted suicides by teens;
    The record-setting rise in drug overdose deaths;
    The inconceivable long-term toll on children’s mental health and learning;
    The dramatic increase in the total national debt which stood at $22.7 Trillion at the end of 2019, is currently $29.8 Trillion (a 27% increase);
    The death of untold thousands due to being unable to access medical services and screening during the lockdowns as well as an ongoing dramatic and unexplained increase in excess mortality not due to Covid;
    The unchecked inflation rate hitting a 40-year high and empty store shelves rampant throughout the country as the supply chain has been deliberately fractured with vaccine mandates and new regulatory impediments;
    The greatest transfer of wealth from the lower and middle classes to the elites in human history as American billionaires gained over $2.1 trillion in new wealth (or a 70% increase in a mere 18 months);
    The wide-open southern border which has resulted in nearly 2 million illegal immigrants flocking to the United States in less than one year;
    The loss of faith and confidence in the nation’s elections as nearly 60% of Americans believe the 2020 election was riddled with fraud;
    The unfathomable stumbles in foreign affairs as personified by the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, which has created a new safe haven for terrorists, the obeisance to Communist China allowing them free rein to achieve global hegemony, and the green light to Russia to dominate Europe. This potentially relegates the United States to the status of a second-tier global power and, more devastatingly, the U.S. Dollar eventually losing its status as the world’s reserve currency.”

  6. Hack says what?

    “ESPN panelist: How can we judge China’s genocide when voting rights here are under assault?”

    Yes, because making sure only people who are legally allowed to vote can do so is just like murder, torture, rape, and starvation, right clowns?

    https://hotair.com/allahpundit/2022/02/05/espn-panelist-how-can-we-judge-chinas-genocide-when-voting-rights-here-are-under-assault-n446565

    “Clay Travis wondered whether the hidden hand of Disney, ESPN’s parent company, might have been behind this segment. Disney values its access to China’s market verrrrrry highly, after all. Would anyone put it past them to air Chinese propaganda on the Uyghur genocide in their U.S. programming in order to curry favor?

    But that’s not what’s going on in the clip below. For one thing, a premeditated whitewash of Chinese human rights abuses wouldn’t begin the way this segment does, with a mention of the G-word. But beyond that, we saw recently that for a certain sort of left-wing bien pensant, whataboutism that equates China’s persecution of minorities with injustices in the U.S. is a badge of supreme wokeness. What starker way is there to signal how much you despise red states’ efforts to tighten voting requirements than to draw a moral equivalence to the horrors in Xinjiang?

    Any progressive rando can lazily parrot the line that reducing early voting from three weeks to two is “the new Jim Crow.” Those who really care are willing to compare it to actual concentration camps.

    Maybe that’s the new endpoint on the spectrum of American wokeness. There’s woke, then there’s extremely woke, then ludicrously woke, and finally anti-anti-genocide.

    Congrats to J.A. Adande on having achieved that exalted degree of social enlightenment, and to his co-panelists on declining to challenge him over it. Who can blame them? Interrupting to complain that mass internment on the basis of religion isn’t morally the same as asking for proof of ID prior to voting would have earned them a reprimand about being insensitive to the hardships minorities in America face. Sometimes a commitment to social justice means biting your tongue when someone around you undertakes to hand-wave away genocide.”

    “Catering To The Left’s Delusions Greenlights Sex Crimes, Looting, And Torturing Children”

    “The leaders of our most basic institutions will do everything in their power to ensure that you cater to their delusions. Don’t.”

    https://thefederalist.com/2022/02/01/catering-to-the-lefts-delusions-greenlights-sex-crimes-looting-and-torturing-children/

    “wo news stories stood out to me over the past few days, and though they went largely unnoticed by the corporate press, I can’t stop thinking about them and what they signify.

    The first is about Lia Thomas, a man who has been shattering records as a member of the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team. He has reportedly been making his female teammates very uncomfortable when he fails to cover up his penis in the women’s locker room.

    “It’s definitely awkward because Lia still has male body parts and is still attracted to women,” one of his teammates told The Daily Mail.

    The second story is about a 26-year-old man in California who recently pleaded guilty to molesting a 10-year-old girl in a women’s bathroom eight years ago. This man, whose name was James Tubbs at the time of the crime but who now goes by “Hannah,” has been sentenced to just two years in the female section of a juvenile facility — because he was two weeks shy of his 18th birthday at the time of the crime and because he now claims to be a woman.

    In one case, we have a heterosexual man flashing his genitals to his female teammates in the locker room before smoking other women in the pool. In the other, we have an adult male who, instead of being registered as a sex offender, will be shipped off to a children’s facility where he’ll be housed with girls like the one he molested.

    These stories have some things in common. They’re obviously both shocking to rational listeners because they both defy logic and decency. Additionally, in both cases, men are actively harming young women.

    Furthermore, both accounts are swept under the rug by the corrupt press, which doesn’t want to give them airtime not because they don’t have news value — they absolutely do — but because they don’t support the proper narrative.

    Embedded within that last commonality, however, the one about the leftist-dominated media not caring, is a rampant problem within our ruling institutions that extends far wider than cable television and deeper than the gender war. It’s the simple fact that our basic institutions — from the halls of government and our entertainment industry to our newsrooms and classrooms and laboratories — have adopted, as one of their core functions, catering to delusion.

    This is evident in the stories above. In them, universities, legal experts, parents, and the press — all of whom intuitively know that men and women are different — have opted for catering to the delusions of a couple of sick men over protecting vulnerable females and children.

    It happens all the time in the sex realm. Medical “experts” cater to delusion when they refer healthy men for castration and women for mastectomies. School administrators do the same when they insist that teachers call little boys “she/her” if they so desire.

    But transgender politics is not an outlier regarding the left’s delusions. It’s crucial to recognize that such celebrated irrationality throughout our culture is a cause of our institutional decline, not merely its effect.

    Consider how catering to delusion is contributing to the breakdown of law and order in this country. In 2020, Americans experienced the “summer of rage,” when Black Lives Matter rioters killed civilians and police officers and caused billions of dollars in damage to small businesses and government buildings.

    They were given a free pass by so many in the media and halls of power, who justified the violence by citing rampant shootings of unarmed black Americans by police. In fact, these talking points led to soft-on-crime policies that caused violence and murder in our nation’s cities to skyrocket.

    But it’s a delusion. The data just don’t support the narrative that police officers are indiscriminately killing unarmed black men. It’s a lie, and it’s one catered to by corporate media, college admissions officers and “diversity” chiefs, corporate America, Hollywood, and even the president of the United States.

    It’s the same story with Covid-19. All available evidence has shown for two years that the virus negatively affects almost exclusively the elderly and those with a handful of comorbidities (including obesity). Yet rather than encourage exercise and target mitigation strategies at the old and infirm, our institutions have hustled to keep up the delusion that the Wuhan virus is our worst affliction, ramping up talk of case numbers when the variants’ lethality began waning.”

    “Justice Department Continues to Go Easy on 2020 Rioters

    Biden’s prosecutors may be fooling themselves—and federal judges auditioning for a promotion—but they are not fooling the majority of Americans.”

    Justice Department Continues to Go Easy on 2020 Rioters

    “No matter how much the Biden regime and news media want Americans to forget what happened during the “social justice” protests of 2020, the public remembers. A poll taken last summer shows overwhelming support for investigations into the nationwide looting and rioting following the death of George Floyd, which caused an estimated $2 billion in damages and cost dozens of lives..

    According to an analysis by a coalition of police chiefs, at least “8,700 protests occurred across 68 major cities . . . and 574 involved acts of violence,” in just a two-month span of 2020.

    There is absolutely no comparison between the violence that terrorized the country throughout 2020 and the four-hour disturbance at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021; any Democrat or Republican who equates the two events should be tossed out of office. (Here’s looking at you, Governor Chris Sununu.)

    And while top law enforcement officials fixate on the so-called “insurrection” they continue to downplay the murder and mayhem of 2020.

    During a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Jill Sanborn, assistant director of the FBI’s national security branch, struggled to answer how many people face federal charges related to the 2020 riots. Sanborn admitted that the FBI has arrested “just north of 250 people” in connection with the “violence that we all saw around the peaceful protests,” as she described them.

    Sanborn’s colleague, Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen, had an easier time detailing the number of arrests in the department’s sweeping Capitol breach probe. More than 700 January 6 protesters have been arrested so far, Olsen told the committee, and 325 face felony charges. (The total number of defendants now is more than 725 as the FBI arrests more January 6 protesters every week.)

    Here’s what that means: Nearly three times as many Americans have been arrested for federal crimes in connection with January 6 than the number arrested for perpetrating the far more violent, deadly, and costly riots that lasted nearly four months, not four hours, in 2020.

    Sanborn also wouldn’t tell Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) how many 2020 rioters were subjected to military-style FBI raids or solitary confinement conditions in prison awaiting trial, the fate of hundreds of January 6 protesters. The answer, as Sanborn surely knows, is none.

    What Sanborn and Olsen also don’t want to admit in public is that the Justice Department is actively dropping cases against 2020 rioters. Prosecutors continue to dismiss charges against Portland rioters; in December, the U.S. attorney in Portland asked a court to dismiss an indictment against a trangender rioter accused of using a high-powered laser against multiple police officers during Antifa’s 100-night siege of that city.

    Nearly all rioting charges against protesters who occupied Lafayette Square in 2020—which prompted the lockdown of the nearby White House and included attacks on law enforcement—have been dropped by the same U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. now prosecuting January 6 trespassers. Last July, prosecutors dismissed charges against a Black Lives Matter protester indicted by a grand jury for attacking federal officers in LaFayette Square in June 2020.

    Now, the Justice Department is asking for leniency for the few 2020 rioters actually facing federal charges.

    Take, for example, the case of Montez Lee, Jr. On May 28, 2020, Lee, a Black Lives Matter protester, broke into Max It Pawn Shop in Minneapolis, poured gasoline throughout the store, and set it on fire.

    A few days later, the mother of Oscar Stewart contacted law enforcement to report her son missing. Stewart’s abandoned car was parked next to the pawn shop. It took authorities several weeks to identify the charred remains of Stewart, another black man, found inside the shop. The Hennepin County coroner ruled Stewart’s death a homicide. (It’s unclear if Stewart was a fellow rioter or an employee.)

    Justice Department prosecutors, however, did not agree with that conclusion: Lee was charged with arson, not murder. And despite a lengthy criminal record including assault and burglary, the government offered Lee a deal to plead guilty to one count of arson, which he accepted in July.

    Based on sentencing guidelines, the Justice Department calculated that the judge could sentence Lee to up to 240 months in prison. But a federal prosecutor asked the court to slice nearly eight years off his jail time. Why? Because Lee, unlike the government’s view of January 6 defendants, was engaged in a political protest those now in charge deem commendable.”

  10. What are they so afraid of?

    That they might lose their grip on the masses…..

    “‘Authorities’ panic over COVID protests, dissent – here’s why”

    https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/authorities-panic-covid-protests-dissent-liz-peek

    “What are the “authorities” so afraid of?

    Why are Canadian truckers protesting vaccine mandates considered a threat? The Freedom Convoy has garnered enormous popular support but is condemned by the liberal media and dismissed by Canada’s unpopular Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a “small fringe minority.”

    Prodded by Canadian authorities, GoFundMe moved to confiscate and redistribute $10 million raised to support the drivers, prompting such outrage that they pivoted to returning the money to the original donors. A like-minded U.S. group, “Convoy to DC 2022,” attracted 130,000 members to its Facebook page before it was taken down by the social media giant.

    Meanwhile, Joe Rogan has come under blistering attack for hosting on his podcast a cardiologist and infectious disease expert who questions the efficacy and safety of the COVID vaccines. Rogan is viewed as such a threat that the White House – in effect, the president of the United States – is trying to shut him down.

    You have to wonder, why is the establishment in full panic mode every time someone challenges their COVID orthodoxy?

    When historians review how our nation dealt with this pandemic, our political leaders will be excused for mistakes made. In responding to a fast-moving once-in-a-lifetime virus that threatened wholesale death, our mayors and governors – and two presidents – made quick decisions based on inadequate information but recommended by health experts who did the best they could. Those will be forgiven.

    What is not forgivable and should never be excused is that those same political leaders and medical authorities brooked no dissent, allowed no debate, and by pretending they had unassailable “truths” on their side, undoubtedly caused the deaths of many Americans.

    Discussions about possible therapies and treatments have been forbidden, even though creditable doctors have attested to the value of drugs like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, based on their own experience.

    When Dr. Simone Gold and her colleagues attested to the success they had treating COVID patients with hydroxychloroquine, she was banned from every major social media site and smeared by the press. But a team at Henry Ford Health System in southeast Michigan announced in July 2020 that a study of 2,541 hospitalized patients found that those given hydroxychloroquine were much less likely to die. ”

    ——

    “One of the most popular articles at The Hill recently described the CDC’s “finally recognizing ‘natural immunity,”” something that the health agency had previously refused to do. A report from the CDC concluded, based on a review of people in California and New York, that being vaccinated prevented the worst effects of COVID-19, but so did surviving the disease. In fact, the researchers note that “after delta became prevalent, natural immunity was more protective against infection than vaccination.”

    The Hill author notes that, “Many European countries recognize that immunity due to prior infection is equal to vaccination” and summarizes that, “Not exempting those with prior infection was always unfair; now it is unscientific as well.”

    Hundreds of thousands of workers have protested the vaccine mandates ordered by Biden; many have argued that because they have already survived the virus, they have natural immunities and need no further protection. The authorities refused to consider their argument, just as they have refused to admit that masks provide minimal benefits to children and in fact could be harmful.

    Biden campaigned on the promise that he had a plan to “shut down the virus.” The United States now has a higher per capita death rate than any other developed country, which was not the case when Biden took office. Clearly his administration is doing something wrong. But heaven forbid you ask what that is.”

  11. Nothing to see here….

    Just some election fraud…..

    But it benefitted Dems, so the media will continue to pretend it never happened.

    “Exclusive: Whistleblower Videos Show Systemic Issues With Pennsylvania Elections

    These videos indicate there were widespread violations of the election code in a large Pennsylvania county, followed by coverups.”

    https://thefederalist.com/2022/02/07/exclusive-whistleblower-videos-show-systemic-issues-with-pennsylvania-elections/

    “According to a new whistleblower video obtained by The Federalist, 80 percent of Delaware County, Pennsylvania precincts lacked a valid chain of custody for the provisional ballots cast in the November 2020 election.

    This video and two others just obtained by The Federalist provide further evidence that, while officials continue to deny that irregularities occurred during the last presidential election, there were widespread violations of the election code in the large Pennsylvania county, followed by efforts to cover up those problems.

    Regina Miller, a contract worker assisting Delaware County officials, secretly filmed the videos as she helped election employees gather material in response to a “Right to Know Request” that sought documentation to confirm the election results certified by the county.

    In one of the several most-recent videos The Federalist obtained from someone familiar with the situation, two employees are speaking. The first woman states, “This is what a provisional bag looks like.” As she continues to explain the process for safeguarding provisional ballots following the close of polls, she notes, “And what we currently do not have is a valid chain of custody for the provisional ballots.”

    The shocked whistleblower repeats the claim as a question: “So are you saying we never had a chain of custody?” The other woman replies that only “20 percent of precincts have locked the blue bag in the past,” a reference to the bag in which provisional ballots are to be stored and safeguarded.

    “Personally, I think that this is happening in every county in Pennsylvania,” the Delaware County election official notes. “We’re working on this antiquated law,” she explains, “on top of the new law,” an apparent reference to changes instituted shortly before the 2020 election.”

    “A second video shared with The Federalist on Friday captures a discussion between Delaware County poll worker coordinator Christina Iacono and Tom Gallagher, an attorney for Delaware County, about “V drives.” Those are removable drives that contain the election results obtained from the county’s individual voting machines.

    This video begins with the whistleblower saying she was concerned with the way the V drives were returned to the county. Gallagher then detailed what happened, with the hidden camera capturing him saying the county employee “dumped them in a bag, put them in a box,” and “puts it on the top of the hood of her car.”

    The election worker then started rattling off problems, according to Gallagher. “She goes . . . we don’t have anything for Chester 11,” and another precinct “is missing.” Gallagher mimics what the employee, identified in the video merely as Loureen, said as she passed the box of V drives and other election material to the county attorney.

    “Do you have a piece of paper with that on it?” Gallagher explains he asked her. She didn’t, Gallagher continued, noting she said, “No, that’s why I’m telling it to you.” She also didn’t have an inventory or anything showing what V drive she was providing and what was missing. Gallagher added that he left her a message but didn’t expect any response.”

    Gallagher’s discussion of the missing V drive provides further context to The Federalist’s earlier reporting on another whistleblower video that captured Delaware County election officials plotting to recreate missing election data from the November 2020 contest.

    According to a source familiar with the video, the clip captured James Savage, who served as the voting machine warehouse supervisor during the November 2020 election, discussing a Right to Know Request with another election worker. That request was served on Delaware County after the presidential election and sought documentation confirming the vote totals.

    In the video, Savage inquired of another individual off-camera about “recreating data.” The second election official offers his suggested approach, with them recreating results for “these jokers,” and “then create another set for the next set of jokers” — an apparent reference to the citizens seeking the confirmation of the election results under the Right-to-Know request — “but we cut it up and then we create a permanent record,” he explains.

    “Here you go, here you go,” the election official says, apparently explaining how they would then provide the recreated data to individuals who filed the Right To Know requests. The individual, who was blocked from view on the camera, then continues, “We scan those cut, copied sheets in.”

    Savage continues, “The first part has a lot of work, but it might save us work in the long run, if it’s gonna be a drip, drip, drip.” The duo then discuss the process more, with Savage asking about whether they would go to every machine and put in a clean V drive. The off-camera election worker appears to agree with that approach.

    A third just-obtained video now provides evidence suggesting Delaware County officials later executed that plan. That video begins with the whistleblower talking about missing V drives and the fact that “some had to be recreated.””

    “When I noticed this article from the Free Beacon this morning, I had to double-check to make sure it wasn’t one of Andrew Stiles’ hilarious parody pieces, but it turns out that it wasn’t. A new program intended to “help make drug use safer for addicts” is being rolled out by the Department of Health and Human Services under the Biden administration beginning in May. As part of this effort, funding will be provided to local governments and nonprofit groups so they can provide free safety materials to drug users. Among these materials will be free crack pipes for some reason. And just to put a cherry on top of this announcement, the programs will be required to prioritize aid to minority and LGBTQ addicts in keeping with the Biden administration’s requirements to advance racial equity.

    The Biden administration is set to fund the distribution of crack pipes to drug addicts as part of its plan to advance “racial equity.”

    The $30 million grant program, which closed applications Monday and will begin in May, will provide funds to nonprofits and local governments to help make drug use safer for addicts. Included in the grant, which is overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services, are funds for “smoking kits/supplies.” A spokesman for the agency told the Washington Free Beacon that these kits will provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and “any illicit substance.”

    HHS said the kits aim to reduce the risk of infection when smoking substances with glass pipes, which can lead to infections through cuts and sores.

    We’ve already seen plenty of programs where clean syringes are distributed to addicts, purportedly to reduce the spread of diseases through shared needles. There are multiple distribution centers in New York City doing that already. But free crack pipes was a new one on me. I suppose that if someone broke a glass crack pipe they might cut themselves and potentially develop an infection, but what are these government crack pipes made out of? Stainless steel?

    The prioritization of the grants to be issued is almost comically offensive, or at least it would be seen as such in a more sane world. Any government agency or nonprofit group applying for these grants will be given priority consideration if they can show that they serve “a majority of underserved communities, including African Americans and LGBTQ+ persons.”

  15. Thought this was worth sharing on both the daily and news threads:

    ~~~”I contend that the only proper way to fight injustice, unrest, violence, the violation of human rights, etc. (which clearly continue to exist on this earth) is for us to love one another. And the only way for us to truly love one another is through the spirit of Christ.
    You might be asking, “Yes, but how do we apply this today? How do we know what it means to love one another in the 21st century in such a complicated situation?” Thankfully, God has described to us what it means to love each other in a way for us to easily understand and apply in the complicated situations of Roman occupation in the first century as well as in the 21st.
    Love is patient,
    love is kind,
    Love does not envy,
    is not boastful,
    is not conceited,
    does not act improperly,
    is not selfish,
    is not provoked,
    and does not keep a record of wrongs,
    love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth,
    it bears all things,
    believes all things,
    hopes all things,
    endures all things,
    love never ends. (1 Cor. 13:4-8)
    Before you consider that someone on the opposite political spectrum from you hasn’t been keeping this list, I hope that we can all agree that none of us has perfectly kept this list. We’ve all fallen short in many ways, on many occasions. We’ve fallen short both individually and collectively. Our church has fallen short, our nation has fallen short, our family has fallen short.
    How should a Christian respond to injustice, unrest, and violence? I don’t believe that virtue signaling on social media is an acceptable response, nor is physical violence.
    Before I react, perhaps I should ask myself some questions:
    Am I being patient?
    Am I being kind?
    Am I being envious?
    Am I being boastful?
    Am I being conceited?
    Am I acting improperly?
    Am I being selfish?
    Am I being provoked?
    Am I keeping a record of wrongs?
    Am I finding joy in unrighteousness instead of rejoicing in the truth?
    Am I bearing all things?
    Am I believing all things?
    Am I hopes all things?
    Am I enduring all things?
    Does my love have a limit?
    Here are a few more cutting application questions:
    Does posting a funny meme condemning those of another opinion display my love?
    Does name-calling display my love?
    Does my witty come-back reply in the comments section display my love?
    Does my behavior among my neighbors display my love for them?”~~~
  16. Sorry Kizzie,
    This here from your link is just a straw man.
    ——
    “The way to combat people who encourage murder, rape, enslavement, and pillaging is not to encourage violence against them in response. God’s word is actually very clear on this point.”
    ———-
    There’s been no violence against them, perhaps they had their feelings deservedly hurt, but no one is responding with violence. Harsh words are not violence. No one has suggested violence against them, simply their removal from power by voters. You know, democracy.
    The author of your link who seems to think there’s an outbreak of such behavior.
    Also,
    While I may be commanded to be loving and pray for misguided individual BLM protesters, I have no responsibility to provide such actions to their corporate office. I’ll not lie and hide my utter disdain for them. Same goes for my joke of a govt and it’s God-hating leaders who profess Christ, think Pelosi, Biden, and any Dem you can name, but are anti-Christ in policy and practice. They should know better and do, but for politics and campaign cash, they sold their souls. They’re tools of Satan, and I’m gonna continue to point that out.
  17. Here’s a counter-point…..
    I’ve no wish to tolerate the people who push this trash. They get away with it because folks are afraid to speak up and out. This is the kind of stuff the author above thinks will go away if we just show more love to those pushing it?
    That’s naive.
    “Conservatives Must Stop Tolerating Commie Nonsense”
    https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2022/02/07/conservatives-must-stop-tolerating-commie-nonsense-n2602878
    “What got us here, to this sad and sorry state, is that we were polite for too long. In a misguided sense of misplaced kindness we failed to call it as we saw it. Stupid people, deluded people, and/or malicious people all confronted us with their stupid, deluded and/or malicious nonsense, and instead of telling them to cut the Schiff, we smiled and tolerated it. Now we got dudes setting records in women’s sports, roving bands of mouth thong vigilantes pestering those of us who exercise facial freedom, and communists who have decided that racism is cool as long as it’s useful to their agenda. We should have told them “No” the first time they opened their yaps.
    But Americans are friendly. We don’t like to give offense. We want to live and let live. But we should not have lived and let lived when confronted by these freaks. We should have lived and let these weirdos, losers and mutations have it with both barrels.
    Now we have to clean up the mess that has resulted from refusing to set sane limits on what we would tolerate. We allowed them to exploit our indulgence. As a result, our indulgence was totally exploited and our culture is being driven full-speed into a wall.
    We need to be intolerant of stupidity, intolerant of delusions, and intolerant of those who want to change our country into a giant college run by the kind of people you avoided when you walked across campus.
    When the first dude approached us and announced that he was now Gladys, our society defaulted to kindness. Someone who is suffering gender dysphoria does not need to have more pain heaped upon him or her, and we had no desire as a society to compound that pain. But tolerating this confusion was not enough. The demand became to celebrate it and to pretend it was real. But it’s not real. A man can never menstruate or give birth or ask for directions. A woman cannot be a father or (generally) carry 120 pounds of weapons and gear or fully appreciate The Dirty Dozen. These are facts, these are written, these are science, damnit. And we believe in science.
    But when the first requirement that we use some bizarre and silly pronoun to acknowledge a fake gender identity was issued, we should have laughed in his or her – because there is only his or her – face. Charitably, it is delusional. No one is “two spirit” or “genderqueer” or some other ridiculous label. Male, female, done. But if it is not merely delusional, it is stupid, because – again – the whole science thing. You are one or the other. Unhappy? Take it up with God, who is male.
    Even worse, there are those who may be delusional and/or stupid, but who are also evil in that they seek to undermine the foundations of society in pursuit of some neo-Marxist hell-topia. Old school Marxists would have none of this, but the new ones are more cunning. If they can break down the family, they break down the final defense against the left’s total power. And the elimination of binary sex distinctions turns the family into a morass of chaos and confusion. Along with the welfare state, you have a two-pronged attack on our culture’s last redoubt.
    But by not pushing back from the beginning, we let it happen. The little nibbling at the edges of reality was easy to excuse – gosh, what’s the harm in calling Janie “Johnny” if she, I mean he, asks us to? But it snowballs until it becomes a requirement, enforced by the entire establishment. That includes alleged conservatives, who can never submit too abjectly, with spineless establishment simps, such as the sorry David French making the conservative case for drag queen indoctrination of our kids.
    We should have laughed in their faces and called them by their true names.
    So when the pandemic panic became a joke, people still treated the mask militia as if they were merely misguided instead of Chardonnay-soaked fascists habilitating us to submission in the form of showing our papers and wearing our muzzles. They don’t want what’s best for us. They want what’s best for them, and that is to exercise power over normal people and compel our obedience. We should have laughed in their faces and told them what they could go mask.
    And the race hustlers leveraged our natural disdain for actual bigotry to impose a complex system of academic horse-hockey that inevitably comes out to your being evil and having a moral obligation to give up freedom and money to the left. You do have to hand it to the people who pronounced colorblindness to be racist. They are amazingly immune from hypocrisy, especially in the way they apply their CRT dogma in an absolutely colorblind way. Anyone can be a white supremacist, regardless of color, ethnicity, or creed! That includes black people like Justice Clarence Thomas and Larry Elder. It’s a weird twist on Dr. King’s advocacy that they ended up judging others based upon the content of their character. If you have some character, these communists hate you regardless of your skin tone.”
  18. Perfect example….
    Right now in China we see “injustice, violence”… “murder, rape, enslavement, and pillaging” all happening to the Muslim population there. Democrats Pelosi and Biden excuse it, pretend it isn’t happening, as does most of the world. Even those that acknowledge it make excuses for allowing it to continue. Yet they all sent teams over to participate in games put together with the same slave labor.
    But rather than showing a little outrage, the author thinks just loving on those responsible will change that?
    It won’t. Not one bit.
    He offers no real world, workable solutions. I’m sorry, but that’s true.
  19. Another straw man….
    “The wisdom of the world continues to encourage us to fight and dominate each other. We are taught by the world to silence those who disagree with us, and to oppress those who are different from us. We are taught to defend what is ours and take what belongs to those outside our group. But God’s word gives us a completely different instruction that sounds like foolishness to the world.”
    I don’t seek to dominate, fight, silence, or oppress anyone, or take their stuff, whether they disagree with me or not. I do feel pretty strongly about defending my home, family, and country, but not much else. No one is telling me to do so either. Who is this world wisdom person and where is he pushing this stuff? No one I know does so. He just assumes we would….
    And a lot of that I don’t do specifically because God says not to. Why does he assume I’d listen to someone saying do otherwise?
  20. Accurate.
    We are often told, with our children, “If you would just love them more…”
    We do love them. Enough to try to help them prepare to meet life and judgement rather than just let them drift in the clutches of the world.
  21. Maybe this relates on this thread or not, but looking at the world through Scripture is always our goal as believers.
    We are hard-wired by God Himself to oppose injustice. Speaking out against injustice is something we should do; we should act in our own sphere and we should be doing that, even if that becomes more focused on prayer.
    But peaceful protests are fine within that context — with the caveat that peaceful protests often don’t stay that way due to our own fallen natures and tendencies to get “worked up” when others are cheering that on. Know the dangers as a believer and be willing to accept the consequences when things spin out of control. (See Jan. 6)
    Or maybe stay away from the rabble rousing, real and potential, altogether. When people become inflamed, including believers, things go sideways quickly and simply backfire.
    God specifically gives the civil magistrate the task of bearing the sword in the cause of justice. We are blessed to live in a nation in which we have a say in our civil government. Sometimes they fall short (well, always, due to the fall, frankly). But it is the civil authorities who are, by God, charged with that role.
    It is good and necessary to speak out on injustices, but it tends to be more powerful when our focus is kept on the issue itself, not on resorting to personal attacks.
    And yes, harsh words are tantamount to violence (see Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount).
    When i was a very new Christian, a mentor — an older Quaker woman from NY who wore long dresses and always had her worn Bible in her hands, it seemed — mentioned to me the “plumb line” one day. Not being a builder, I asked what she meant, and, of course, she pointed me to Scripture.
    A brief but accurate description I found quickly online:
    ~ A plumb line is a weight suspended from a string used as a vertical reference line to ensure a structure is centered. ~
    That, she told me, is always our frame of reference in all parts of our lives and in our thinking. We go there first, we test all things.
    We live in a tumultuous time when politics — sometimes justifiably, often not so much — has driven a sharp wedge in our society, in our world. it has caused no shortage of division in the church at times.
    The Plumb Line is our only reliable frame of reference as we consider “how, then shall we live.” We are first and foremost citizens of the Kingdom.
  22. AJ – Much of that piece has to do with how we respond on social media, such as that last part that I quoted:
    ~~~”Does posting a funny meme condemning those of another opinion display my love?
    Does name-calling display my love?
    Does my witty come-back reply in the comments section display my love?
    Does my behavior among my neighbors display my love for them?”~~~

    You said that Kurt Schlichter’s piece was a counterpoint, but it is not from a Christian perspective. A true counterpoint would be from a Christian perspective. Not only that, but when I am skimming the news thread and notice some offensive language (by that, I do not mean swearing, but the use of nasty pejoratives), and then I glance at the link and see the author’s name, it is usually Schlichter. Such as this from the end of that piece “No dice, weirdos, losers, and mutations.” And that’s not even as offensive as he can get.

  23. Mumsee – I don’t think this is referring to wishy-washy “love”, but to our written or verbal responses to people. Even while being strict with your children (which is in itself love in action), I’m sure you didn’t call them losers or idiots or put them down in any way like that.

  24. To add to my reply to AJ, this quote from the end of the piece says:

  25. Its interesting for me to observe how right wing populists are discovering what the left has know and claimed for quite awhile. First, in Ottawa, the protesters are astonished to see police show up in numbers, armed, and confiscating things. That’s what they do when a protest becomes an occupation — make things uncomfortable; they will justify any seizure by saying it enables crime. Fuel enables people to stay longer, honk their horns, and idle their trucks — all by-law violations. Overreach? Definitely, but very common and used for years against the poor and the left.

    The US public school system has been described as an entry to the criminal justice system. And the discipline practises often used support that accusations. Police presence in the school, use of police to discipline, arresting students in classrooms for misbehaviour, regulating children’s behaviour outside of school, dress codes, etc always astounds me as a Canadian teacher. Now right wing populists have noticed this same discipline structure when its used to enforce masks mandates — where were they before? Authoritarianism in the school system has long been a problem. Perhaps people should call it out along with police overreach no matter the political or social cause.

  26. In a similar vein — some people complain the recent pressure on gofundme and spotify is cancel culture gone too far. However, they say nothing when Maus an award winning graphic novel on the Holocaust is banned or Florida wrote specific legislation banning the use of the 1619 project as classroom materials. I’d differentiate between consumer pressure on private companies ie Spotify and the state banning of books. The latter is far more “cancel culture” than the former. As for gofundme, the organizers didn’t have a very good bookkeping and accounting program set up and if the money was used in the commission of a crime as opposed to legal fees, gofundme would be held liable. In addition, the Canadian gov’t was asking for transparency in terms of where the donations were coming from — many of the larger donations were anonymous and from the US or Europe, With this type of threat, gofundme choose to maintain corporate secrecy rather than keep the money.

    I was amused by the basketball/soccer flopping but was puzzled why there was a Trump flag. One of your tweets mentioned the protesters had done nothing wrong except piss people off — well in Canada that can be a crime — rude and obnoxious behaviour can get you in legal trouble as the protesters are slowly discovering. You have to be polite here.

    I often wonder why the NCAA doesn’t use the same guideline many international organizations use to determine gender — hormone levels. Once a trans man has reached a certain hormonal level to pass as female he can compete. And for those men who identify as trans in the justice system insist that treatment start prior to transfer to women’s prison — perhaps the promise of castration will change minds.

  28. Kizzie, I think that article was short on concrete examples. If it was only talking about social media interactions, it would be one thing. It doesn’t limit itself to that. It made me think of the women who were told by their pastors that they should just keep loving their husbands who were actually abusing them. The writer actually says no violence. Policemen and soldiers do have to use violence. Sometimes we have to use violence, God forbid.

    i am not sure Jesus’s action in the temple or Paul’s words to those he was shepherding would fit within what the author is saying. The questions given us to think about are good, but the subject is way too huge for the article, IMO.

  30. Kathaleena – Upon looking at it again earlier, I did realize that the writer went a little overboard, or at least it came across that way, in seeming to prescribe merely “loving” for any adverse situation. But my reason for sharing it, and the parts that I quoted here, were mostly about the way we communicate, or refer to others, especially on social media.

  31. Just catching up on the posts. I believe as Aj pointed out concerning Pelosi, Biden, Schumer, etc who profess to be “Christian” yet spew hatred and hypocrisy against the faith…concerning this a scripture comes to mind admonishing the Scribes and Pharisees :
    27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness.
    He was not “gentle” with His words concerning this behavior. Yes, our motives are to be wrought out in our love for the Saviour…but…I sometimes sense some just want us to give everyone a hug and it will make it all better….it won’t…..
