  1. Huh.

And yet this was used to bash Christians, even by some misinformed Christians who believed it when the story broke.

“Not One Corpse Has Been Found In The ‘Mass Grave’ Of Indigenous Children In Canada”

“The whole story, it seems, was concocted to stir up hatred against Christians and stoke outrage. It succeeded.”

“Remember last summer when a mass grave containing the remains of hundreds of children was found on the grounds of a former government boarding school for indigenous children in British Columbia, Canada?

In the seven months since this shocking news broke, not one body has been found, and not a single shovel-full of dirt has been excavated from the site in question. Contrary to the worldwide media coverage last summer, nothing, in fact, has been “discovered” on the grounds of the Kamloops Indian Residential School.

In a healthy society, this would be a scandal. A story that grabbed headlines for a week and inspired arson attacks that destroyed dozens of churches in Canada turns out to be based on flimsy, unexamined evidence at best, and an outright, pernicious lie at worst.

You might remember the overblown coverage. CNN breathlessly reported on what it called the “gruesome discovery.” The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation appended a warning label to its coverage, saying “this story contains details some readers may find distressing.” The Washington Post declared that news of the mass grave had “dragged the horror of Canada’s mistreatment of Indigenous people back into the spotlight.” Every corporate outlet took it for granted that a mass grave containing hundreds of corpses had indeed been discovered—corpses of children, no less. They reported it as fact.

Politicians quickly fell in line. Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau tweeted that the discovery “is a painful reminder of that dark and shameful chapter of our country’s history.” British Columbia Premier John Horgan said he was “horrified and heartbroken.” The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights called it “a large scale human rights violation,” and called on Canada and the Vatican to investigate.

Tribal leaders in Canada went further and said the discovery was evidence of “mass murder of indigenous people,” that it was an “attempted genocide.” Some of them compared the priests and nuns who ran the boarding schools to Nazis, implying that, like the Nazis, these people should answer for their crimes.

Flags were lowered to half-mast. Calls were issued for an inquiry. Important and serious people said there must be a reckoning with Canada’s racist past. Lamentations poured forth from Catholic bishops for the church’s role in running these government boarding schools.

And then came the arson. In June, dozens of churches across Canada, most of them Catholic and some of them more than a century old, were burned to the ground. No church was safe. As my colleague Chris Bedford reported at the time, “In Calgary, 10 churches of various denominations were vandalized in a single night. A few days later, a Vietnamese church was set on fire — just hours after it held its first full service in more than a year.”

Overall more than two dozen churches in Canada have been targeted over the past few weeks — and people are cheering it on. Not just anonymous people, either: On June 30, Harsha Walia, the executive director of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association, responded to a story of another church arson, saying ‘Burn it all down.’

Others rallied to her defense. Naomi Sayers, a lawyer and blue Twitter checkmark, said ‘I would help her burn it all down … and also, I would help anyone charged with arson if they actually did burn things.’

At the heart of all this was a press release issued at the end of May by the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, saying that ground-penetrating radar had revealed the remains near the site of the Kamloops school, one of the largest such schools for indigenous youth that operated from the 1890s to the 1970s. “It’s a harsh reality and it’s our truth, it’s our history,” Chief Rosanne Casimir said at a news conference. “And it’s something that we’ve always had to fight to prove. To me, it’s always been a horrible, horrible history.”

The investigation was supposed to continue in conjunction with the British Columbia Coroner’s Office. The radar findings were only preliminary, and the eventual discovery of the “mass grave” containing the remains of children “as young as three years old,” which no one seemed to doubt, would confirm what “was spoken about but never documented” in the community.

That was more than seven months ago. Not a single corpse has been exhumed from the site since then. No human remains, of children or anyone else, have been found and confirmed as a result of the radar search.

The person who performed the ground-penetrating radar survey, a “conflict anthropologist” named Sarah Beaulieu, said at news conference back in July that the “probable gravesites” could not be confirmed unless excavations were done. Her investigation covered only two acres of the total 160-acre site and, she said, had “barely scratched the surface.”

Professor Jacques Rouillard, professor emeritus in the Department of History at the Université de Montréal, recently published a detailed essay in The Dorchester Review on what has been found at this and similar sites — and what hasn’t. There is no evidence, writes Rouilliard, in any of the historical records kept by the government, that deaths of indigenous children at these schools were ever covered up, or that any corpses were ever deposited in mass, unmarked graves which were kept secret, and parents of the children were never informed, as tribal groups repeatedly charged and the media dutifully repeated last summer.

There are indeed individual graves on the grounds of the Kamloops school, which includes a still actively used cemetery. Children who died at the school when it was still in operation — most often of tuberculosis but also of influenza, yellow fever, and typhoid — were sometimes buried in that cemetery in individual marked graves, alongside priests and nuns who were buried there.

The history of this and other residential schools is admittedly complex and includes, as most historical episodes do, a dark side. Often indigenous children were separated from their families and forced to attend these schools, which the government left chronically underfunded. When children died, the government often refused to pay to have their remains transported back to their communities, so they were buried at the school cemeteries.

Many of the grave-markers at these schools are now gone, not because anyone was trying to hide them but because it was common in these remote areas to make grave markers from wood, and many of them simply disintegrated over the years.

What all of this suggests, especially in the complete absence of any confirmed evidence of a “mass grave” or a coverup, is that the whole story is a giant fiction. Its purpose was to provoke a moral panic, demonize the Catholic Church, and make global headlines by peddling historical grievances. And it worked exactly as planned.”

Saddest of all is how other “Christians” used this to bash their brethren.

  2. Like I said…..

Yet I was called a conspiracy nut for saying so, just like the lab leak theory…..

“The system is set up for hospitals to profit from COVID”

And that’s why so many patients have incidental Covid. (Not what they were at the hospital for) It’s profitable.

“If you had a financial incentive to do something that wasn’t exactly honest, would you abandon your principles and take the cash? Apparently, that’s what many medical providers and hospitals in America have been doing, especially since the beginning of the Biden administration. The numbers are staggering — both in money hospitals took in and the very real possibility that their actions caused people to die. If the accusations are true, what happened is truly evil and, I think, points directly to a cause: the removal of God and morality from society, replacing these brakes with what passes for modern life — disconnected, social media-driven, selfish, me-first living, with no real accountability. If you see “everyone” acting a certain way, who, after all, are you to buck the system? Besides, you’re accountable to the Board, or the stockholders, first and foremost!

This is as old a story as humanity. Losing the strong moral code that should underlie our lives opens the door to saying, “Well, that’s a gray area, and I won’t think too much about it, and anyway, everyone’s doing it this way.” This was forcibly borne upon me because a good friend sent me an article that illuminates in a precise and fact-driven way what is going on and allows us to see exactly how evil aspects of our modern medical system have become. I’ll summarize the article here, but I urge you to read it yourself.

If you’re unlucky enough to need a hospital procedure, step one is a free COVID test. Of course, the government pays the hospital a fee for this “free” test. If the test is positive, the hospital gets another fee. No matter that the patient was in for appendicitis. The COVID rewards continue with more money for admission — 20% more on the entire bill if they give you Remdesivir rather than ivermectin and a big booster payment for ventilation. The list goes on.

Remdesivir, Tony Fauci’s drug of choice, is harmful and sometimes a killer, and they know it. It causes severe side effects in the majority of patients. Besides long-term kidney and liver failure, the death rate using it exceeds 50%. Doctors stopped using it for Ebola in Africa for this reason, yet we mandate it as the drug of choice — even when ivermectin has proven far more efficacious and has virtually no side effects. Hospitals get paid very well to administer Remdesivir. Then there’s the ventilator, itself a killer. Look at the article — the numbers these mechanical breathing devices kill are staggering.

On top of this, there’s apparently quite an incentive to have deaths from COVID in the hospital — to the point where such mundane human needs as nutrition, hydration, etc. are often denied to the patients. In case you didn’t know, this is all based on something called the Complete Lives System, a socialist treatment protocol developed by none other than Ezekiel Emanuel, meant for his theory of rationing medical care for those “too old” to be of value.

The Cares Act was made law just after Biden took office. If you look at it, you’ll understand why Congress never reads the bills it passes. Ferreting out anything from that morass is next to impossible. I thank those who have brought it forth. It outlines all these profitable protocols and also, apparently, codifies certain waivers of patient rights outlined a month earlier, here. Here’s a sample (“CMS” is the “Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services”):

CMS is waiving the requirements at 42 CFR §482.13(g) (1)(i)-(ii), which require that hospitals report patients in an intensive care unit whose death is caused by their disease, but who required soft wrist restraints to prevent pulling tubes/IVs, no later than the close of business on the next business day. Due to current hospital surge, CMS is waiving this requirement to ensure that hospitals are focusing on increased patient care demands and increased patient census, provided any death where the restraint may have contributed is still reported within standard time limits (i.e., close of business on the next business day following knowledge of the patient’s death).

If that doesn’t give you the chills, nothing will. Imagine you’re alone — no visitors allowed, after all, in times of COVID — restrained, invaded, intubated, and dying. Nobody’s paying attention, or even attending to your basic needs for nourishment and fluids. Now nobody even has to report it.”

    Read it and weap.

“Creating a “National Pandemic Emergency” provided justification for such sweeping actions that override individual physician medical decision-making and patients’ rights. The CARES Act provides incentives for hospitals to use treatments dictated solely by the federal government under the auspices of the NIH. These “bounties” must be paid back if not “earned” by making the COVID-19 diagnosis and following the COVID-19 protocol.

    The hospital payments include:

A “free” required PCR test in the Emergency Room or upon admission for every patient, with government-paid fee to hospital.
Added bonus payment for each positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Another bonus for a COVID-19 admission to the hospital.
A 20 percent “boost” bonus payment from Medicare on the entire hospital bill for use of remdesivir instead of medicines such as Ivermectin.
Another and larger bonus payment to the hospital if a COVID-19 patient is mechanically ventilated.
More money to the hospital if cause of death is listed as COVID-19, even if patient did not die directly of COVID-19.
A COVID-19 diagnosis also provides extra payments to coroners.
CMS implemented “value-based” payment programs that track data such as how many workers at a healthcare facility receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Now we see why many hospitals implemented COVID-19 vaccine mandates. They are paid more.

Outside hospitals, physician MIPS quality metrics link doctors’ income to performance-based pay for treating patients with COVID-19 EUA drugs. Failure to report information to CMS can cost the physician 4% of reimbursement.

Because of obfuscation with medical coding and legal jargon, we cannot be certain of the actual amount each hospital receives per COVID-19 patient. But Attorney Thomas Renz and CMS whistleblowers have calculated a total payment of at least $100,000 per patient.

What does this mean for your health and safety as a patient in the hospital?

There are deaths from the government-directed COVID treatments. For remdesivir, studies show that 71–75 percent of patients suffer an adverse effect, and the drug often had to be stopped after five to ten days because of these effects, such as kidney and liver damage, and death. Remdesivir trials during the 2018 West African Ebola outbreak had to be discontinued because death rate exceeded 50%. Yet, in 2020, Anthony Fauci directed that remdesivir was to be the drug hospitals use to treat COVID-19, even when the COVID clinical trials of remdesivir showed similar adverse effects.

In ventilated patients, the death toll is staggering. A National Library of Medicine January 2021 report of 69 studies involving more than 57,000 patients concluded that fatality rates were 45 percent in COVID-19 patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation, increasing to 84 percent in older patients. Renz announced at a Truth for Health Foundation Press Conference that CMS data showed that in Texas hospitals, 84.9% percent of all patients died after more than 96 hours on a ventilator.

Then there are deaths from restrictions on effective treatments for hospitalized patients. Renz and a team of data analysts have estimated that more than 800,000 deaths in America’s hospitals, in COVID-19 and other patients, have been caused by approaches restricting fluids, nutrition, antibiotics, effective antivirals, anti-inflammatories, and therapeutic doses of anti-coagulants.

We now see government-dictated medical care at its worst in our history since the federal government mandated these ineffective and dangerous treatments for COVID-19, and then created financial incentives for hospitals and doctors to use only those “approved” (and paid for) approaches.

Our formerly trusted medical community of hospitals and hospital-employed medical staff have effectively become “bounty hunters” for your life. Patients need to now take unprecedented steps to avoid going into the hospital for COVID-19.”

  3. Biden’s illegal invasion continues…..

“He did it! 2 million for 2021 as border encounters were up again in December”

“The record number of border encounters in Fiscal Year 2021 totaled just over 1.7 million. But three full months of FY21 (and part of January) were still the Trump administration so it’s not really fair to blame those figures on President Biden. What matches more closely to Biden’s responsibility is calendar year 2021. So how did that turn out? The numbers for December still haven’t been publicly released by Customs and Border Protection which as Bill Melugin pointed out today, is odd.”

“But it seems the figures have been calculated, they just weren’t released. December’s numbers were another increase over November:”

  4. Our military has been broken by the woke REMFs who never served themselves, and the willfully stupid idiots in command.

“Marines Granted First Military Religious Exemptions from Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate

None of the other branches of the military has granted any religious exemptions for COVID-19 yet.”

“The US Marines have established a beachhead on the shores of religious liberty.

The Marine Corps has granted two service members a permanent religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, the first military branch to do so, the service announced Thursday in a regular update.

The Corps says that, to date, it has received 3,350 requests for religious exemption to the mandate and processed 3,212. The two exemptions announced Thursday are the first for vaccines that the service has granted in at least the last 10 years.

None of the other branches of the military has granted any religious exemptions for COVID-19 to date.

However, there are many more on the docket to be considered.

In its weekly Covid-19 update, the Marine Corps said it had received 3,350 requests for religious exemptions and had processed 3,212 of them. But for the first time, the Marine Corps said it had granted two of the requests. The service offered no additional information about why these specific requests had been granted.

Each of the services has received several thousand requests for religious exemptions to the military’s vaccine mandate. But until this week, none of those requests have been granted, though the services still have many requests to process.

According to the latest updates, the Navy received 3,038 religious exemption requests, though the service does not say how many have been processed. The Army has received 2,128 requests and rejected 162 so far. The Air Force has received 2,387 and rejected 229.”

“Wokeness Hits the Upper Echelons of the Air Force”

“A few days ago, I noticed a disturbing tweet by Representative Dan Crenshaw about preferential treatment and lowered standards in the Air Force Special Tactics selection course. Having sufficient background to be fairly confident in my understanding of the matter, I’ll place links to many of my sources here, here, here, here, here, and here. The gist of the story is that the Air Force Special Tactics community encountered wokeness, but resistance in the lower ranks sparked a backlash.

Air Force Special Tactics provides Air Force experts who can ensure world-class Air Force support for any Special Operations team. They must be ready to join any Special Operations team on short notice, whether Navy SEALS, Army Green Berets, Rangers, or even more secretive units.

In 2018, a female Special Tactics Officer entered Special Tactics training, where she quit in the first week of dive training. She was then not selected for continued training. In 2019, she returned and retook the course and did not pass again, but higher leadership dictated her selection for Special Tactics officer training. She then went through more training while continuing to quit. She quit in dive training, but the leadership had her retake a more relaxed version of the course. She then quit in the solo land navigation portion of her tactical training.

She encountered the physical differences between highly athletic men and women being tested to their limits. In one event, “she just physically couldn’t flip the tire,” the instructor said. “The team handed her a kettlebell and she just kind of walked behind the team for the rest of the iteration.” The officer herself reportedly wrote, “I believe the change in standards invalidated me with a majority of my team … the cadre [instructors] ‘rioted’ when they found out the PT test was changing back to lesser standards.” Despite her repeated desire to quit — Air Force Special Operations leadership would not allow her to find a different career path. Instead, she began working directly for the commander of Air Force Special Operations Command — where she wrote a report and an Equal Opportunity Complaint resulting in an investigation of everyone who interacted with her.

Now, according to the memo, she will return again to retake the Special Operations Course, with instructions from above, that she will graduate, whether or not she meets standards. As of now, an investigation into this matter is being conducted by the Air Force inspector general.

What I want to elucidate is how this episode is representative of how wokeness often works and how it was resisted.

First, the project to bring women into Air Force Special Tactics is a luxury project, not a pressing need. The raids that killed terrorist leaders bin Laden and al-Baghdadi demonstrate the maturity and fine-tuned edge that Special Operations has honed, with countless unheralded missions successfully accomplished in our lifetime. There are no public examples of a failed mission that would have succeeded if only had a female Air Force Special Tactics officer been present. In other words, this is fixing what ain’t broke.

Throughout the Air Force, women are already closely integrated into virtually all careers and are not formally denied anywhere. However, Special Operations has very high prestige, and just as in the civilian world, the diversity and inclusion focus is on high-prestige fields — CEOs, politicians, engineers, and airline pilots, and not on lower-prestige areas such as plumbers, oil-field roughnecks, and sanitation workers.

That said, there is a good argument to be made for women in Special Operations. For example, South Korea has a highly regarded female unit for low-profile operations.

Second, this is a top-down project started in the Obama administration. In 2013, the Obama-era Defense Department set a timeline of 2016 for women to join ground special operations forces. A female officer, who was not a Special Tactics officer, was placed second in command of most Special Tactics airmen. She was placed there “for the first wave of female operators.” And the top general for Air Force Special Operations has clearly demonstrated by his actions that he is aware and pushing for the unnamed female to pass the special operations course.

Third, the project relies on a lack of transparency and lies or near-lies about the nature of reality and objective facts. The first lie or obfuscation of reality is that standards will be sex-neutral and will not be lowered to accommodate women. According to reporting, the physical standards were lowered just before the female officer arrived at the course. Her instructors all knew that her passing scores were failing scores before she arrived. The high physical standards for Special Operations are based on the objective needs of the mission — the need to carry heavy loads over rough terrain, the need to drag the wounded to safety, the need to swim long distances in rough seas. Lowering the passing scores does not change that.

This is like the D.C. high school where every senior was admitted to college — even those who couldn’t read! Inherent physical performance differences between men and women mean that a standard lowered enough for sufficient women to pass may not be challenging for men or realistic for the mission. It risks turning Special Operations into Just Above Average Operations.

Fourth, the ramifications of such a project could result in serious damage to the national treasure that is SpecOps. Imagine the small community of rank-and-file Special Tactics airmen knowing that their leader cannot physically lead from the front and that she was willing to charge her instructors with discrimination. In other words, what should be a trusting, close-knit family forged from shared experience will become a unit without trust or mutual respect, where it’s best to watch what you say and think.

The rank and file must imagine that if these are the lengths to which leadership is willing to take to get the demographic results wanted, how much farther will this trend go? Will selection mostly be a matter of quota and not a measure of individual character? Will Special Ops become just an extension of the local woke campus?”

  5. Good, finally some sanity.

“Great Britain, Czech Republic, and Israel Back Away From Vaccine Passports”

“Great Britain, the Czech Republic, and Israel are backing away from COVID vaccine mandates amid increasing evidence that the leaky vaccines are making the pandemic worse.

It is becoming harder to deny the glaringly obvious facts that COVID infection rates are increasing worldwide in proportion with the rate of vaccination, and that the injections have dreadful adverse side effects which may be contributing to a marked increase in all cause deaths.

In light of growing awareness that the vaccines are failing, it should not be a surprise that Moderna and BioNTech stocks are down 8-10 percent this week, 60 percent since August.

“The hedge funds have finally realized there will be no fourth shot,” quipped Alex Berenson on Substack.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday that the government will discontinue mandatory COVID vaccine passports and masks in England, citing falling infection levels as the reason behind the move.

Speaking in Parliament today, Johnson announced that the plan B restrictions, issued to control the spread of Omicron, will be allowed to expire on March 24, and possible sooner, Cambridge News reported.

“Our scientists believe it is likely that the Omicron wave has now peaked nationally,” the PM said.

He told the House of Commons:

Today’s latest ONS data show clearly that infection levels are falling in England and while there are some places where cases are likely to continue rising, including in primary schools, our scientists believe it is likely that the Omicron wave has now peaked nationally.

There remain, of course, significant pressures on the NHS across our country, and especially in the North East and North West, but hospital admissions which were doubling every nine days just two weeks ago have now stabilised, with admissions in London even falling. The numbers in intensive care not only remain low but are actually also falling.

So, this morning, the Cabinet concluded that because of the extraordinary booster campaign, together with the way the public have responded to the Plan B measures, we can return to Plan A in England and allow Plan B regulations to expire.
“As a result, from the start of Thursday next week mandatory certification will end. Organisations can, of course, choose to use the NHS Covid pass voluntarily but we will end the compulsory use of Covid status certification in England.

Coronavirus deaths in Great Britain have reportedly risen dramatically in recent days, but cases have dropped off significantly, wallowing the Prime Minister to drop the restrictions, according to Cambridge News.

There are currently 16,621 Covid patients in hospital in England, down from 17,120 a week ago.

Also on Wednesday, the Czech Republic’s new government dismissed the previous government’s vaccine mandate requiring older adults and first responders to get vaccinated, ABC News reported.

The previous government, led by Prime Minister Andrej Babis, released an order in early December, making vaccination mandatory for people age 60 and over as well as medical personnel, police officers, firefighters and medical students.

It was due to take effect in March. But Babis’ administration was replaced later in December by a new government formed by five parties and led by Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

“We’ve agreed that vaccination against COVID-19 won’t be mandatory,” Fiala said.

Meanwhile in Israel, home of the most aggressive vaccine policies in the world, a top Israeli vaccine advisor is throwing in the towel amid rising infection rates.

The Jewish State recently surpassed two million COVID cases since the pandemic began, and notched a record-breaking 72,120 new cases on Tuesday, according to data published on Wednesday by the Health Ministry.”

    It’s almost like the vaccines don’t work…..

    Because they don’t.

  6. Sure, now they let the truth sneak out. They’ve known this all along. They intentionally left us out of their numbers because it didn’t support the false narratives they were pushing.

“The CDC Finally Makes a Massive Admission About COVID-19”

“In an almost surreal way, writing about COVID-19 as a political commentator has become almost second nature. Two years ago, I would have laughed at the idea that we’d still be covering the virus, but here we are, still having it be part of our daily conversation.

That’s not by choice, of course. Instead, it’s because our leaders have insisted on tying the two areas of health and politics together so tightly. When a pandemic is constantly used to crush liberties and hand power to people with tyrannical leanings, that’s not a story that can be ignored.

In all the disinformation and obfuscation of the last several years from the government, though, no issue has been more abused than natural immunity. We’ve known since the beginning months of the pandemic that those who are previously infected gain lasting, durable immunity from the virus. Yet, the CDC, two presidential administrations, and the mainstream media have all steadfastly refused to acknowledge that reality.

    Finally, that has changed.”

“You don’t say? Welcome to the party the rest of us have been hosting for a year-and-a-half.

Some of us have been writing on natural immunity since the summer of 2020. We’ve charged ahead, amidst an onslaught of false “fact-checks” to present the data that clearly shows that those with a prior COVID infection are protected and likely don’t need to get vaccinated. In that time, we’ve been maligned as anti-science and called grandma killer, among other choice descriptors. Even after multiple studies emerged over the last year proving natural immunity was real and viable, the government and its media allies still pretended it didn’t exist.

And in the off chance you did get a member of those groups to admit the obvious, they’d usually respond with a non sequitur like “oh, so you are suggesting people purposely get COVID?” But no one was ever suggesting that. Rather, we were just pointing out that tens of millions of people had gotten COVID, not by choice, many before the vaccines even came out, and that to ignore their natural immunity is anti-science.”

    “Schumer/Biden filibuster strategy flops”

“No, really … now what? Chuck Schumer led his Senate Democrat caucus off a cliff yesterday, egged on by Joe Biden, forcing some vulnerable incumbents not just to vote for an election-federalizing bill that sets them up as big targets in November, but also to vote to end the filibuster — making them even bigger targets. Schumer did this despite knowing full well that he didn’t have the votes to pass either, and yet …

The year-long Democratic push for federal voting rights legislation died in the Senate on Wednesday night, after Republicans blocked an elections bill for the fifth time in six months and Democrats failed to unite their caucus behind a plan to rewrite the Senate’s rules and pass it anyway. …

Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) then moved to reconsider the legislation to propose a rules change allowing for the bill’s advancement with a simple majority of 51 votes. The Senate rejected that maneuver 52 to 48, with two Democrats, Joe Manchin III (W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.), joining all 50 Republicans in opposition.

The late-evening vote amounted to a bitter but unsurprising finale for the Democratic voting rights effort on Capitol Hill, a campaign backed by top party leaders and pushed by key elements of its coalition even as Manchin and Sinema repeatedly made clear they would not weaken the 60-vote rule, defending it as a tool to protect minority-party rights and promote bipartisanship in U.S. democracy.

But Schumer and other top Democrats were determined to push forward with a floor confrontation regardless, even as it promised to expose bitter divisions inside their own party rather than amplify a GOP blockade that they have described as an existential threat to democracy.

Punchbowl asks the obvious question — cui bono? They can’t figure that one out either:

To be honest, we still don’t fully comprehend the Democratic strategy here. Schumer, backed by Biden, pushed this fight to the bitter end knowing he was going to lose. How that helps him, Senate Democrats or Biden just isn’t apparent to us. Wednesday’s vote, in fact, cemented Manchin and Sinema as the biggest pariahs in the Democratic Party. So how does it help Schumer get their votes during the rest of the 117th Congress, or further the party’s goals heading into the midterm elections? …

Are Senate Democrats in better shape now than they were two weeks ago? No.

Between this doomed bill and their reconciliation vehicle for the Build Back Better spend-o-rama, Biden and Democrats have next to nothing to show for a year’s legislative work. They did get an infrastructure bill passed, but that happened because Republicans had a common interest in that kind of spending. With that in mind, Biden now wants to break up BBB into “big chunks” to get all 50 Senate Democrats on board, and then look for bipartisan paths on other legislation:

Q Just one more follow-up on Build Back Better: When you said it’s going to likely be broken up into chunks — you mentioned that the climate pieces seem to have broad support, you mentioned Senator Manchin is a supporter of early childcare — you left out the Child Tax Credit. And I wonder if it’s fair to read between the lines and assume that that is a piece, given Senator Manchin’s opposition to it, that the extension of that is likely one of those components that may have to wait until sometime down the line.

THE PRESIDENT: There’s two really big components that I feel strongly about that I’m not sure I can get in the package: one is the Child Care Tax Credit and the other is help for cost of community colleges. They are massive things that I’ve run on, I care a great deal about, and I’m going to keep coming back at in whatever fora I get to be able to try to get chunks or all of that done.

So if that was an option, why not do that months ago? Why stage a very public fight that divided Biden’s own party and set off a family feud only to turn around and do what was obviously the only solution in the first place? What was the point of siccing progressive activists on the party moderates that allow Democrats to exercise narrow control of Congress in the first place?

Besides, as Punchbowl also notes, the “chunks” strategy means an end to reconciliation for most of those other “chunks.” They’ll have to either put them off for another budget cycle to use a subsequent reconciliation vehicle or work with Republicans. Right now, though, they’re in talks to finish the current budget cycle and any BBB talk could put an end to those talks, leaving Democrats with yet another legislative failure:”

    More of this please. 🙂

“Widow, sisters of fallen Marine during Afghanistan exit are suing Alec Baldwin for defamation”

“A new legal challenge is coming at Alec Baldwin. We’ve read a lot of stories about his potential legal problems over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Now the widow and sisters of a fallen Marine are filing a defamation lawsuit against him.

You probably remember the story of Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum. He was one of thirteen service members killed at the Abbey Gate at Hamid Karzai International Airport during Biden’s chaotic evacuation of Afghanistan. He was a young Marine who left behind his pregnant wife and a devoted family, including two sisters. A month after McCollum’s death, his wife Jiennah gave birth to their baby girl, Levi Rylee Rose McCollum. GoFundMe pages were started for families of the fallen, including McCollum. By the time the baby was born, over $800,000 had been raised for Jiennah. All of the deaths of the 13 brave service members were heartbreaking and McCollum’s was particularly hard. The couple was so young, the Marine was only 20 years old, and the baby was due soon.

In August when the terrorist attack happened at the Abbey Gate during Biden’s botched evacuation at the airport in Kabul, the fundraising began for the families. Alec Baldwin contacted McCollum’s older sister, Roice McCollum. He sent her a check for $5,000 for Jiennah McCollum and her child. The check was “a tribute to a fallen soldier,” Baldwin said. So far, so good. But, then the story gets weird. Roice posted a picture on her Instagram account that led to Baldwin mounting his high horse and incorrectly calling Roice a January 6 rioter, labeling her an insurrectionist on his own Instagram account. He called her out with false accusations and she immediately began receiving hostile, aggressive and hateful messages from Baldwin’s followers. Baldwin has 2.4 million followers on Instagram.

A lawsuit has been filed against Baldwin for his behavior toward the family.

The court documents state that on Jan. 3, Roice posted a photo on her Instagram page that she took on Jan. 6, 2021, showing a crowd of demonstrators at the Washington Monument. Roice posted the photo, the lawsuit said, in anticipation of the 1-year anniversary of the invasion of the U.S. Capitol.

While Roice attended a demonstration in Washington, D.C., in support of former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, she was not involved in the riot and while she was later interviewed by the FBI, she was never accused of or charged with a crime.

Baldwin commented on Roice’s posting, asking, “Are you the same woman I sent the $ for your sister’s husband who was killed during the Afghanistan exit?”

Upon confirmation that she was the sister of Rylee McCollum, Baldwin sent private messages Roice and accused her of being an insurrectionist.

“When I sent the $ for your late brother, out of real respect for his service to this country, I didn’t know you were a January 6th rioter,” Baldwin wrote in one message.

Roice responded by telling the actor that protesting was legal in the United States and that she had already spoken with the FBI, but he persisted, according to the lawsuit.

“Your activities resulted in the unlawful destruction of government property, the death of a law enforcement officer, an assault on the certification of the presidential election. I reposted your photo. Good luck,” Baldwin wrote back.

Baldwin later claimed on social media that he was trying to point out irony in his reposting of her phot, by juxtaposing her brother’s sacrifice for the country with Roice being an “insurrectionist.”

Baldwin reposted Roice’s photo on his own Instagram account, which has 2.4 million followers, discussing the Capitol attack and mentioning Roice’s involvement in the protest on Jan. 6, 2021.

It was clear at the time of the deaths of the service members that McCollum’s family are Trump supporters. They blamed Biden for Rylee’s death. Apparently, Alec Baldwin’s Trump Derangement Syndrome flared up when he put two and two together when he saw Roice’s photo on Instagram. A sane human being would have simply sent a personal message to her voicing his disappointment that she was at the Trump rally that day, if he felt he had to politicize what was a good deed, his donation. She wasn’t involved in the riot on Capitol Hill, though, a distinction Baldwin seems incapable of making. She hurt no one and was exercising her First Amendment right to assemble at the rally. Instead, Baldwin went full-on crazy and exposed her and his opinion of her to his followers. What did he think would happen? He had to have known, it isn’t like he’s unfamiliar of the working of social media, especially when celebrities get involved. He told her “Good luck” after telling her he reposted her photo.

Roice said it only took 20 minutes for the hate to begin. Baldwin even dragged Rylee’s widow into the mess. She wasn’t in Washington, D.C. that day. His followers sent hateful messages to her and Rylee’s other older sister, Cheyenne, too.

One message said “Get raped and die, you worthless [expletive]. Your brother got what he deserved.” Roice forwarded this message on to Baldwin, sarcastically thanking him for the post.

Baldwin ultimately followed the person who sent the message on Instagram. He also chimed in on the feed, calling Roice an insurrectionist and claiming she participated in the riot.

He also misidentified Jiennah as an insurrectionist in one Instagram comment, although she was not in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021. People began sending hateful and threatening messages Jiennah and Cheyenne McCollum, Rylee’s eldest sister.”

  13. “Hello, I’m Tom Hanks,” the animated Hanks said in the meme. “The U.S. government has lost its credibility, so it’s borrowing some of mine.”…and now Axios is using this same “spokesman” to further their promotion of all that has been “accomplished by the sitting President….can’t make this stuff up folks… 😂

  14. Gee, if only the FBI could tell what his motivations were….

CONTENT WARNING!!!! for the foul mouthed Jew hater.

“Texas terrorist in final phone call: ‘F***ing Jews … I’ve come to die’”

“In the recording of the call he made from the Beth Israel synagogue to his brother in the United Kingdom, Malik Faisal Akram says he came to America on a jihadi mission.”

The British terrorist who held four Jews hostage at gunpoint on Saturday at a Texas synagogue told his brother that he had been planning the event for two years and that he came to America to “go down as a martyr.”

In a recording of the call that he made from Congregation Beth Israel to his brother Gulbar, obtained exclusively by the London Jewish Chronicle from a security source, Malik Faisal Akram said he came to America on a jihadi mission and to demand the release of convicted terrorist Aafia Siddiqui, known as “Lady Al-Qaeda.”

He also ranted about the “f***ing Jews” he held at gunpoint. “I’ve got four beautiful guys, Jewish guys with me, they are trying to play ball with me,” he said.

“I’m opening the doors for every f***ing youngster in England to know—live your f***ing life, bro … we’re coming to America and f**k with them if they want to f**k with us, we’ll give them f***ing war,” he said to his brother, who was in a Blackburn police station, according to the JC.”

Don’t worry, the idiots at the FBI are all over this….
