Prayer Requests 1-8-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 141

A psalm of David.

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
    hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
    may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
    keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
    so that I take part in wicked deeds
   along with those who are evildoers;
    do not let me eat their delicacies.

Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness;
    let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.
   My head will not refuse it,
    for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs,
    and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
They will say, “As one plows and breaks up the earth,
    so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.”

But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
    in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.
Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,
    from the snares they have laid for me.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
    while I pass by in safety.

  1. Please pray for S (Mama Ruth’s oldest daughter. I think she is 68
    This is the report I got last night.

    They moved her to ICU and asked me to leave about 4:00. I just talked to the nurse and things are looking better. Her heart rate is so high that she is at risk for a stroke or heart attack. Her blood pressure is now ok but went as low as 60/39 and stayed too low until now. She is in acute renal failure. They said numbers are better now and she is resting.

    She had a stone in her bile duct (not abnormal to get after gallbladder removal) busted up on Wednesday and she now has a infection from the procedure. She is considered septic I think is the word. They believe if they get the right medicine in her it is all reversible.

    Mr P said this is serious.

  2. I’m still praying for Mumsee and the whole household.

    Our friends with covid are mending nicely. Thanks for your prayers.

    C is still on supplemental oxygen, but not much. He has begun to do without it during the day (with minimal activity) and use it at night primarily. He is pushing the boundaries at the moment. I heard him in the basement rattling around with his tools and bug killers and such, and now the leaf blower is going. He’s determined to do his outdoor chores while it’s sunny. I’m always anxious when he gets this hyper because too much activity can lead to days of fatigue or worse. However, C continues to defy doctors’ dire predictions, and we glorify God for the miracle of healing and life. And in the presence of His goodness, a little anxiety along the way is a very small thing. :–)

  6. Please pray for a young man named Arthur. He has a whole lot of issues going on and his life is not in a good place right now. His family is quite concerned and doing what they can, but he is an adult living on his own. Spiritual, emotional, physical, mental issues are all mixed up. All prayers appreciated.
