It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 140
A psalm of David.
1 Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
protect me from the violent,
2 who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.
3 They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.
4 Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
protect me from the violent,
who devise ways to trip my feet.
5 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me;
they have spread out the cords of their net
and have set traps for me along my path.
6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”
Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.
7 Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
you shield my head in the day of battle.
8 Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;
do not let their plans succeed.
9 Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;
may the mischief of their lips engulf them.
10 May burning coals fall on them;
may they be thrown into the fire,
into miry pits, never to rise.
11 May slanderers not be established in the land;
may disaster hunt down the violent.
12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence.
Please pray for “Cat,” another one of our spiritual daughters, who flew to the Far East yesterday to begin a linguistics internship for a missionary organization in an unnamed country.
This is her first big travel experience alone, only the second outside of the US, and as Jo has been attesting, it was complicated even more by changing COVID requirements.
She missed her flights.
Here I thought she was safely ensconced with her new team and instead she was stuck in Detroit. (Insert joke here). We prayed with her, encouraged her, and she sent word late yesterday morning she’d made the plane and was on her way–almost 1/2 way around the world from where she started.
She’s in quarantine in the country for a few days and hopefully will now start work only a few days late. Please pray for her; she tends to be timid until the power of the Holy Spirit starts to work–and then she’s a lioness!
Thanks.

May God bless her in her desire to serve. And bless those who lift her up in prayer.

Please pray for Wesley to get everything done that needs doing before his four classes start next week. He also has to do some more applications for employment for next year in case nothing opens up where he is. It all depends on prospective enrollment.

He is making headway today on the search. Apparently daughter needs to be placed in intermediate care which is a federal program, not the state places we have been looking into. Wisdom.

And she has calmed down again. Went for a walk and then we did a penguin puzzle together.
