Prayer Requests 12-6-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 119

א Aleph

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
    who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes
    and seek him with all their heart—
they do no wrong
    but follow his ways.
You have laid down precepts
    that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast
    in obeying your decrees!
Then I would not be put to shame
    when I consider all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart
    as I learn your righteous laws.
I will obey your decrees;
    do not utterly forsake me.

ב Beth

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
    By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
    do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
    that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
    teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
    all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
    as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
    and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
    I will not neglect your word.

  1. Since I haven’t been a regular around here lately, I feel sort of ashamed to come asking for prayers…
    I am having a really hard time right now. Nothing is right in my world. I woke up yesterday morning around 2 (because for some reason 2 am is when the world is the bleakest) with extreme anxiety. My mind was racing with all sorts of scenarios of what could and would go wrong in my life.
    At 8:30 I will be calling my doctor to go in and discuss a change in medication and at some point today I will be calling a therapist (my Sunday school teacher is a licensed therapist) and discussing some things. I may reach out to one other person who can “coach” me on a professional level.
    Part of it is that Friday a coworker called Mr. P Kim’s hypochondriac husband. The pandemic has not been good for him. He had already been home with a baby almost 2 years. She was just getting to the point they could go to the playground, she would have been able to attend preschool, etc…then we were all in isolation. He has remained obsessed with it and is unwilling to go anywhere. The only good that has happened to help the situation is that Donald Trump isn’t in the news as much.

  2. Dear Kim never be ashamed to come here for prayer. We are in this together and He calls us to carry one another’s burdens…so here we are! This pandemic has caused so much disruption in so many lives. Extending grace to others and asking the Lord to get us through is where I stand. Division and judgement seem to come all too easy for some. I am sorry you are experiencing this but He has promised to see us through…trusting in His promise…

    Praying for you this day and for Mr P…. ♥️

  3. The isolation has truly hurt so many people. I can see the difference it has made. You have had a busy year, Kim, and we all understand anxiety. I sure understand waking in the night with it. Praying you will have wise advisers through it all and others in your life will also grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord and heal in all the ways needed.

  4. I woke up with some anxiety at around 4 this morning. I know the drill, you’re dwelling on all the things that you “can” worry about.

    But in the dark of night …

    And, yes, this pandemic has left some scars to be sure. We will come out of it (and praises that this new variant, so far, seems to be not quite as scary as some thought it might be). I have a friend who’s Type 2 Diabetic and she’s been virtually locked indoors taking care of her elderly mom for going on 2 years, she won’t even go to the store for fear of bringing something home that will infect her and her mom, both of whom have a fairly good chance of landing in a hospital.

    As Christians, we’re rightly concerned about our communities and those around us who would not do well if they got this virus. It’s been quite the balancing act for everyone.

    I don’t know Mr. P — but I know a number of fellow believers who are not fearful of the virus — they genuinely are acting with wisdom and concern for the overall well-being of those around them while trying not to be so isolated they they encounter other problems.

    Hard times. But God knows.

  5. I bring my prayers in, too, Kim, to align with all the others. These are dark times.

    Another example of the sheer crazy pandemic anxiety manufacturing production line:
    Art went at 11:00 for his scheduled booster. He found out that in small print his booster is scheduled for 11:00 pm. Prayers for us tonight please. He has quite a distance to drive.
    Unvaccinated brother continues with cold and cough. He did not tell Art at the office on Saturday that he had a cold. I could not reach brother all day yesterday until about 8 pm so I was in a state of anxiety but determined to give it to God. And the pandemic continues . . .

    I praise God that you have a Christian counselor, Kim!

  6. 11 p.m., now that’s a late appointment. I did hear the booster appointments were now hard to get.

    I got the booster earlier on and was able to just go into the pharmacy at my convenience, though I did go ahead and make an online appointment beforehand (mine was the only one that day when I signed up, I believe).

    Meanwhile, there are more treatments set for approvals early next year, and possibly another vaccine will be approved as well. The tool box is filling up, the delta virus is (seemingly) running its course and can’t last forever.

    Singing in the darkness.

  7. Heavenly Father,
    I lift up Kim to you this evening asking that You will give her a restful evening. She feels a weight of unknowns and what ifs and a lack of control. We all are suffering in various ways with that sensation. We trust that You are working things out for good. Help us to remain faithful to surrender our burdens to Jesus. We grip so tightly thinking we should do something. Help Kim and each of us let go of our troubles one by one from smallest to biggest. I lift up Mr. P asking for him to feel a new blossoming sense of safety. I pray for new roles to be discovered that will give him a sense of renewal and purpose. Please help their marriage to regain balance going forward. We who are married have all had to learn new ways to relate during the pandemic and it has not been easy. Thank You for how You are working on the situations Kim and all of us are concerned over. May Your sense of peace prevail over anxiety as we seek to keep our minds stayed on You. In Jesus, Amen

  8. Praying for you, Kim. So many unknowns. Praying that God will grant you peace of mind and spirit. Praying for your husband, and mine, to stop listening to the news, in what ever form it comes to them.

    Janice, praying Art makes a safe trip to the vaccine clinic and does not have an adverse reaction.
