It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.
Anyone else?
Psalm 116
1 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
2 Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Lord, save me!”
5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
6 The Lord protects the unwary;
when I was brought low, he saved me.
7 Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.
8 For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,
9 that I may walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.
10 I trusted in the Lord when I said,
“I am greatly afflicted”;
11 in my alarm I said,
“Everyone is a liar.”
12 What shall I return to the Lord
for all his goodness to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord.
14 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his faithful servants.
16 Truly I am your servant, Lord;
I serve you just as my mother did;
you have freed me from my chains.
17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you
and call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord—
in your midst, Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord.
Praying for Debra and C this morning. May they continue to see God in their struggle and may He be glorified.

Praising God for the way Phillip Yancey’s book has touched Art’s spiritual heart. Last night he brought home an article about Kathy Lee Gifford’s new book and read the article to me. It was wonderful to see him excited about people sharing their faith. Art has been working seven days a week and never reads a Bible so this is a big deal to me.

Oh, I think the book is not new, maybe a year old? I had never heard of it before but will now seek it out on Audible for our next road trip.🧡

This may be my last time doing this.
It took me almost 15 minutes to get to this point.
No. Don’t know why, or I could fix it.
It’s just so much trouble, tha’s all
Sorry. I really am.

Prayers for Chas to continue for quite a while longer. Maybe a computer glitch?
I just discovered an imposter has set up a new Instagram account to try and get my list of followers.
‘Tis the season for scammers in addition to the real reason for the season.

Wisdom for husband and his sis and brother as they determine whether or not to continue with the cruise idea. Their dad and stepmom are already aboard for ten days before the others join them. Now it sounds like a seven day quarantine is coming down for any travelers coming back to the States, but maybe only via plane, not including cruise ships. That would put them in Florida seven extra days (including Christmas). But the point is to spend time with their folks as time does not wait for pandemics.

My back is feeling better this morning and I just received an unexpected gift which was so encouraging. I also showed my friends house yesterday to two fellas. One of them fell asleep in the large recliner. I was ready to take a nap myself. One of them told me a harrowing tale of being in the village when some fellas were very drunk. They had to flee into the bush for safety.
Praying that my friends home will sell.

I’m thinking that Chas possibly meant to put his above (10:04) post on the pigskin picks thread, and doesn’t mean he plans to stop posting elsewhere on the blog?
Prayers for you either way, Chas, with love and many blessings wished for you, as you have given us.

I suspect Chas is struggling to find himself anywhere around on the computer. Back to writing letters to him!

Chas hates to tell you this, but it is so.
I can’t participate in the computer picks anymore. It just isn’t posssible to get these 91 year old eyes coordinated wit my still-e developing brain.
My problem. You folks have done a fine job
I enjoyed all of it.
They say that getting old may not be fun, but it’s better than the alternative.
Not sure about that. It’s realy frustrating.

It has to be very frustrating. But those eyes have done a lot of work over the years. All that
mapping is just one aspect of it. Driving TSWITW hither and yon was more. Seeing to the
needs of young Chuck, enjoying his children and their children. Teaching Sunday school for
years and years. They have put in good work. We won’t complain if you let them rest a bit.
