Prayer Requests 8-16-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 13

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

  1. Praise son was not more seriously injured. Prayer he keeps the neck brace on for the week. Praise nobody else was injured. Prayer he gets some sense (don’t believe he had any insurance).

  2. Did I tell you this already?

Thanks for your prayers for our daughter and members of our church running the eyeglass clinic distribution over the past three days.

They gave away 1200+ pairs of glasses, including lenses to children–which will make all the difference in the world to them for their ability to see, and thus read.

    They’re off, now, on much-needed R&R.

  3. From a friend:

Continued prayers for Afghanistan from friends in Armenia. I’m sure many of you saw posts of missionaries who are inside the country surrendered to Jesus.

We ask for grace and mercy:
CONTINUED PRAYERS FOR AFGHANISTAN: We’ve heard from different people that they’ve received messages from Taliban letting them know that they know about them and their house churches… and that they need to shut it all down immediately or else. At the same time, we’ve heard some Afghan believers saying that they know who stands on that Throne… and that they are going to follow Him regardless of the cost.

As for the situation, you can see the thousands of people fleeing to the airport begging for a spot on any transport plane. It’s gotten so bad that the US had to suspend evacuations since they can’t safely take off. It obviously shows how absolutely terrified so many people are, particularly women.

We’re told that the Taliban are already taking girls over 12 and young women as sex slaves. Again, the idea that this is a new, nicer Taliban simply isn’t true. In fact, it’s being recorded today that many civilians in Kandahar are being pulled from their homes and executed. And worst still, with all the Taliban has now taken from the Afghan army, they are now in possession of many US-made Blackhawk helicopters.

But, in the midst of all this, we can’t ever forget that history isn’t in the hands of evil terrorists. History isn’t in the hands of kings, presidents, prime ministers, or dictators. Instead, history is in the hands of those who prayer… who battle on their knees, looking to the One who has no equal.

So, please know that when you pray, your prayers will make a difference. Seen or unseen, they will make a difference.

Some are calling for a 3-day Esther fast.
