Prayer Requests 7-1-21

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 123

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to you,
to you who sit enthroned in heaven.
As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us,
for we have endured no end of contempt.
We have endured no end
    of ridicule from the arrogant,
    of contempt from the proud.

  1. Well, my date to finish this book was the end of June, which just passed. All along I have been treating the rest of this week as the end of June, making my drop-dead date sometime Friday, Monday at the outside (but only in real emergency). Then it occurred to me a few days ago that Sunday is a holiday, meaning Monday is a holiday, meaning that getting it finished by Friday noon if at all possible is likely a good idea.

I’m at the point I dreaded most, putting the “little stuff” in and trying to keep it looking good and not like some cheap scrapbook. I did enough of it tonight that I’m hoping it makes my job easier tomorrow, but honestly I don’t know what to expect either i terms of how much work it is, what it does with my page count, or whether the other people involved will like it. We have lots and lots of good information–but I want it to keep looking good and not ruin it with the “scraps.” (Basically my husband got dozens of screenshots from our denominational magazine over 100 years, and some of them are really sweet finds, like the first wedding in our church. But there are close to 200 of them, I can’t use them all, and I don’t want them to make the book messy. And every single one that I do use needs a caption. So . . . yeah, he was being super helpful to get them for me, but it gave me several days of work when he first did it–labeling each one with the date and page number–and it also is making this week longer, because I’d be done with the book now if I hadn’t had to work with those a couple of weeks ago and again now.

But even for me this is past my bedtime and I need to go get some sleep!

  3. I completely forgot to tell you about the answer to your prayers!

The Boy Scout returned from the Grand Canyon last Saturday, mumbled that he had a good time but never wanted to do it again, “too hot.”

He went to bed and basically woke up on Monday!

    Thanks for your prayers.

  4. Please pray for the government of PNG for wisdom in responding to covid. New restrictions were announced yesterday that include a 21 day quarantine and other measures. It will be quite difficult for others wanting to return.
Praise for the teachers and others that recently arrived.
