Prayer Requests 6-9-21

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 114

When Israel came out of Egypt,
Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
Judah became God’s sanctuary,
    Israel his dominion.

The sea looked and fled,
    the Jordan turned back;
the mountains leaped like rams,
    the hills like lambs.

Why was it, sea, that you fled?
Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
Why, mountains, did you leap like rams,
    you hills, like lambs?

Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
who turned the rock into a pool,
the hard rock into springs of water.

  1. About three weeks ago, a guy went missing in the river while returning from a fishing trip with a buddy. Their boat caught a wave and he got knocked out of the boat and must have hit his head as he was a good swimmer and very familiar with the water. He is presumed drowned and they continue to search for his body. We met him a few times, he did our pump and cistern work. Terrific guy, only thirty two years old. Leaves behind a wife and seven children under the age of ten. I believe he is a believer so he is fine, as is his wife. Prayer for her and for the children. Prayer that his body shows up soon as that will help. They have been on our minds a lot lately.

  2. Still waiting on results. I have no idea as 85% of the questions were “select all that apply” with 6 options. Very easy to leave 1 out or add one too many. Not many multiple choice which would have given me better idea.

My neighbor died yesterday afternoon. We were coming in to Las Cruces when she called me to see if I would come up. I made all the calls to OMI and the mortuary when their son died. I felt bad that I wasn’t there for her.

  3. My mistake, his body showed up a few days ago. His brother was driving the boat when it stalled. He swam to shore. Hopefully, he won’t suffer from survivor’s guilt.

  4. So sorry to hear about that great loss to his family and the community, Mumsee. Very sad to hear of the summer deaths related to fun in the water. It’s never expected.

Rkessler, sorry to hear of your neighbor’s death. Glad that you were able to assist in the past. No need to carry guilt over what you could not do.
