Prayer Requests 1-26-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 144

Of David.

Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
    who trains my hands for war,
    my fingers for battle.
He is my loving God and my fortress,
    my stronghold and my deliverer,
   my shield, in whom I take refuge,
    who subdues peoples under me.

Lord, what are human beings that you care for them,
    mere mortals that you think of them?
They are like a breath;
    their days are like a fleeting shadow.

Part your heavens, Lord, and come down;
    touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy;
    shoot your arrows and rout them.
Reach down your hand from on high;
    deliver me and rescue me
   from the mighty waters,
    from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
    whose right hands are deceitful.

I will sing a new song to you, my God;
    on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 to the One who gives victory to kings,
    who delivers his servant David.

   From the deadly sword 11 deliver me;
    rescue me from the hands of foreigners
   whose mouths are full of lies,
    whose right hands are deceitful.

12 Then our sons in their youth
    will be like well-nurtured plants,
   and our daughters will be like pillars
    carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns will be filled
    with every kind of provision.
   Our sheep will increase by thousands,
    by tens of thousands in our fields;
14  our oxen will draw heavy loads.
   There will be no breaching of walls,
    no going into captivity,
    no cry of distress in our streets.
15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
    blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

  1. Heavenly Father, I lift up Kim and Mr P to you this morning. I ask for healing mercies. Covid hits each person in such individual ways. You know each of them on that level. I pray You will strengthen their points of vulnerability against the illness. Please let it be mild for each of them. I also ask that You provide assistance to them from loved family or friends nearby. May no others be sickened by it in their realm. Help Little Miss adjust to their quarantine and not be too difficult to handle with unwanted changes to her routine. May Kim and Mr P be patient, kind, and caring toward each other even when they don’t have the energy to make the effort. May Your love see them quickly through this. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  2. Praying for the real, today, God’s assurance that he is doing a good thing by keeping us going. And we do appreciate his research in the news.

  3. My engineer has talked me off the ledge and I may survive this night.

    In the meantime, please pray for all the other people in Sonoma County who are retraumatized by this series of NIXILE alerts.

    My emotions are all over the map, even as my “writer brain,” in my husband’s parlance is struggling to NOT be a novelist and, instead, be a logical, rational nonfiction writer who will end up in heaven no matter what happens.

    The chances of us being in danger are slim to none. It would take an entire ridge crashing down and NOT headed to the bottom of a canyon (which is east of us).

    But, well, you know.

    It’s not the blitz (I’ve been reading about that). But it’s another trauma–and I attended a conference on trauma over the weekend. 😦

    Thanks.

  4. Son requests prayer for his friends: J and H and 2 year old son A. J and H tested positive a few days ago and son was spiking a fever and had other symptoms but not tested. H (8 months pregnant) just went to the hospital but the other two are doing better.
