Prayer Requests 1-22-21

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 141

A psalm of David.

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
    hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
    may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
    keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
    so that I take part in wicked deeds
   along with those who are evildoers;
    do not let me eat their delicacies.

Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness;
    let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.
   My head will not refuse it,
    for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs,
    and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
They will say, “As one plows and breaks up the earth,
    so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.”

But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
    in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.
Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,
    from the snares they have laid for me.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
    while I pass by in safety.

  1. Wisdom for the believers living in this country and how we should respond to the nine billion dollars our country sends to contribute to the killing of other people groups in the womb. Sounds racist to me.

  2. Thanks for prayers for my reading yesterday. It takes practice!

    Meanwhile, the dermatologist took a chunk out of my cheek yesterday and I’m sporting a bandage. Let’s pray the biopsy comes back clear (though I’m not worried).

  3. Sounds like daughter is considering our offer to move up here with the three children while her husband finishes his Navy time, rather than buying a house in Boise and taking care of the three children herself while working nights.

  4. In which case, our concerns for the children continuing being challenged are met. Our concerns twenty four would quit her job to go help (she gets frazzled after a few minutes with one plus her daughter). Our concerns for the children being left unattended…..Perhaps God will do that. If so, please triple any prayers.
    We can split off four bedrooms and two baths and a sitting room/ play room for them. We would share laundry and kitchen and the great outdoors. I hope my dad does not need a place soon.

  5. Mumsee – Yes, I realize he is away now, but I meant for when he is out of the Navy, if the family is still with you.

    What?! Are you referring to married couples not sharing a bedroom?

  6. Correct.

    Hopefully, if they do this, they will be able to get their debt paid off and get a fresh start.

    Ideally, he would get back there and find out that Marines are pretty terrific people and help will be available and he can send for wife and children.
