Prayer Requests 1-20-21

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 139

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
    Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
    your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
    and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
    I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.

  1. Repost from late yesterday:
    “Heavenly Father,
    You have the whole world in Your hands. You are above the fray. Thank You for letting us understand just a small bit about You. And what we know of You is all good. You are love. You are truth. You are our only hope. You are our only sure peace. Thank You that we can enjoy the Fruit of the Spirit as we abide in Christ. As I prayed for those in the office of President and Vice President in previous administrations, I pray the same for those who are scheduled to be installed tomorrow in those positions, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Above all else I pray for them that if hindrances and stumbling blocks are in the way to them becoming true believers in and followers of Jesus that You would remove those blockages. You have Your will and purpose in allowing them into these positions at this time. I praise You for how You work out things in the unseen realm. I thank You for the many ways that You used President Donald Trump in Your kingdom building on earth as in heaven. Please give a safe transition for each administration. So many are full of hatred on both sides. You know all the hearts, Father God. Not one can hide their heart from You. I praise You for carrying us to realize full Victory in Jesus by whatever means You desire. May Your light of truth shine brightly during the days ahead. I pray for Your peace to abound in all hearts that follow Jesus or have potential to do so. I love You so very much, Abba, and put my faith and trust in You as I continue to wait for Your best to be revealed in Your way, time, and will. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen”

  2. Prayer for the Trump family as they resume “private” life. Keep them surrounded with solid believers to encourage them to continue to grow in their faith.

  3. I pray all the new people in office will bow their need to the one true God and gain wisdom from him. I pray they will do their jobs so that our government will be what God wants it to be according to his word. That is, that they will not accept bribes; not favor rich or poor; look to God’s word to know how to promote the good and punish evil; keep our country safe and let all God’s people follow their consciences for all that is taught in the bible.
