Psalm 122
A song of ascents. Of David.
1 I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
2 Our feet are standing
in your gates, Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up—
the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There stand the thrones for judgment,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8 For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
Wandering Views 
Prayer for health here. Twenty four showed up with a cold of some sort. I have advised her to stay away from the babies though that is rather fruitless as she has hers and when at work, I have hers and the three will be together. I am able to kind of keep the other two from the oldest, little guy. But I am sure the germs are flying and we are all in the same room most of the day.

The wait to get into the ER last night was 3 hours. Since the EMT had splinted, iced, and given the patient three ibuprofens, they came home. She’ll see her regular doctor this morning for an x-ray.
Handy having that EMT in the house.
The V family should hear today the COVID test results. It’s likely positive, Mrs. V can’t go to work until her husband has a negative result and who knows what is happening with the 93- year-old father? The health care assistants walked out when they heard of Mr. V’s fever.
Sigh.
My family member is breezing through COVID, which is great.
Otherwise, life is normal in sunny, cold northern California.

I’m hoping to get in today for a drive-up Covid test at the local urgent care. I felt pretty good Sunday-Monday, then today was hit with just an overall weakness. Having a mug of tomato soup, no appetite really, this was the only thing that sounded halfway OK/good, but I do physically feel hungry.
Assuming I feel well enough to launch my tired self out of here, it’ll likely be a long wait in the car for the testing. I’ll bring books and the iPad.

I was coughing and had a sore throat Christmas day and the day after, then that tended to go away. This morning I woke up with muscles aching and just overall feeling weak and light headed. There’s also a tingling in my right shoulder which started up around the time of the coughing.
But no fever, no loss of smell or taste.
So I “checked in,” filled out all the paperwork, but it’s a 3-4 hour wait so they tell you to go home and they’ll call you when you can come back — then you just drive up and they take the test with you in your car.
I do feel better now than I did this morning, that’s for sure.

Daughter-in-law’s hand is a bad sprain, no broken bones. My son was pleased he could fix the dishwasher for only $15, so all’s well that ends well and I asked who would be cooking dinner for the next two weeks . . .

That was fast. She said if the test was negative it would appear in about an hour on my patient portal (which I’ve just set up). If it’s positive, I’ll get a call from them tomorrow.
