Prayer Requests 11-9-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

  1. Prayer continually needed for daughter and son in law, both continue to deal with depression and she is thinking life would be better without him. Not true.

  2. From writer Ed Stetzer of Wheaton, via Breakpoint this morning:

    https://breakpoint.org/pray-to-our-holy-god-for-our-divided-nation/?

    “Father. We come before you today and we acknowledge your Holiness and goodness. We acknowledge that the thing we can do that is most important, more than anything else, is not to flip on the news and to see where the electoral counts are, not to see where the votes are coming in.

    “Right now, the most important thing we can do is to say ‘Holy, Holy Holy.’

    “All of you pray with me out loud, the three-part ‘Holy.’ Let’s say it out loud together.

    “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty. The whole Earth is full of your glory. In places where the vote has been counted– full of your glory. In the places where votes have not been counted–full of your glory. In places where people are afraid—full of your glory. A place where people are excited–full of your glory.

    “Lord, we know this truth literally shook the thresholds in Isaiah 6 and it shakes the thresholds of our world today…

    “We pray for our nation. That you might forgive us when we haven’t valued the unborn. We pray as a nation that you would forgive us when we haven’t cared about racial injustice. We pray that you would forgive us for when we have celebrated the wrong and pushed aside the good.”

    “Father, forgive us for relying on politics for what only Jesus can do.

    “Father, I pray for God’s people on this call, in this conversation, people who will watch later or who are watching and sharing right now. Father, I pray that they would be bearers of the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

  3. Please continue to pray for the President, his legal team, favor in the courts, and for righteousness to prevail.

    Also, so many people, families and even church congregations are feeling additional stress at this time. I pray that we remember the love that we have for each other—that it not be smothered by the emotional turmoil and chaos that is churning right now.

  4. I just got a message asking for people to pray for the President’s legal team who are taking everything they have to the Supreme Court at 5 p.m. I think we all want God’s truth to prevail in this election.

  5. This I recall to my mind,
    Therefore I have hope.
    Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
    Because His compassions fail not.
    They are new every morning;
    Great is Your faithfulness.
