Prayer Requests 10-24-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 75

We praise you, God,
    we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

You say, “I choose the appointed time;
    it is I who judge with equity.
When the earth and all its people quake,
    it is I who hold its pillars firm.
To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Do not lift your horns against heaven;
    do not speak so defiantly.’”

No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
It is God who judges:
    He brings one down, he exalts another.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
   he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.

As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”

  2. A woman in our church has severely compromised lungs and is fighting a chronic bacterial connection in her lungs. Her husband has just tested positive for COVID. This, easily, could kill Laurie.

    She’s being tested now.

    Please pray for Laurie’s protection, healing, and wisdom–particularly if she needs to leave home right now.

  3. Little boy was tested and came up negative. They are thinking he has a UTI from his earlier respiratory virus. Apparently, that happens with some frequency but in his case, with little immune ability…. But he is cleaning up nicely. Redness and swelling are almost all gone, his happy playful personality is back.

  4. Laurie tested positive for COVID this morning. She has a pic line in already owing to the powerful antibiotics trying to clear up the chronic fungal infection in her lungs. “Laurie just needs new lungs,” one old friend said this morning.

    Please pray it’s a mild case.

    My machinst son lost a work colleague this week from COVID. He was over 70, obese, diabetic, had had a triple by-pass a few years ago, spent time in the hospital for another reason last year.

    “He ticked off everything on the list,” my daughter-in-law said.

    Still, only seven people work in the shop–and another died unexpectedly last year–so it was upsetting, not to mention he was a friend of my son’s. 😦

  5. Thanks for prayers. This just in: Laurie’s Covid test results were positive but she’s feeling like she is beyond the worst of it. She is still dealing with shortness of breath and battling the fungal lung infection. Her husband is experiencing headaches and shortness of breath.

    Thank you.
