Prayer Requests 9-2-20

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 29

A psalm of David.

Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
    ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
    worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
    the God of glory thunders,
    the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
    the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
    the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
    Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord strikes
    with flashes of lightning.
The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
    the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
    and strips the forests bare.
   And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
    the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
    the Lord blesses his people with peace.

  1. Our dear friend LeRoy is not doing well. Late last evening I received an email telling us he is fighting pneumonia. He sleeps 22 hours a day and is not eating. I have been praying throughout the night … if LeRoy comes to mind please remember him in prayer…. trusting our Lord with his care and comfort …. thanks….

  2. Carol is in LA County Hospital to get control of what’s become a constant state of diarrhea. Not clear where she’ll wind up from there, whether back at the most recent rehab or at another one.

    I’ll have to go ahead and pay her phone bill, can’t have her “lost” out there with no way to get in touch with her. Sigh.

  3. I called her rehab, they told me she was taken to the hospital (Hollywood Community, not LA County as she originally told me) for hematemesis (coagulated blood in her vomit) and for being dehydrated. They’re holding her rehab bed for 7 days so most likely she’ll go back there. She has a very bad hernia that can’t really be operated on, so that’s an ongoing problem as well. She’s not in good shape, but nothing immediately life-threatening, I was told.

    Glad I called, though, Carol doesn’t usually retain too much accurate information these days. She had the wrong hospital and told me the wrong diagnosis for why she was sent there.

  4. The lady affiliated with our church whose baby won’t live long after birth is being induced now (appointment time was an hour ago, so I’m assuming they are now in process).
