Prayer Requests 8-20-20

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 19

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
    In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
   The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
   The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
   The decrees of the Lord are firm,
    and all of them are righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
   they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
   Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.

14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

  1. Here’s an update on my mother in law.

    She had the surgery yesterday, it too quite a while. Last night we were told the surgery went well, everything was good, but she couldn’t take calls until today. She called Cheryl this morning. Her IV popped out during the night. Because of this she is now dehydrated, and her pain meds were in the IV too, so now she has a lot of pain as well. You’d think they’d have checked on her and noticed this during the night, but alas……

    So yeah, continued prayers would be good. Thanks.

  2. We’re doing fine out here, but feel free to pray. Things look calm. None of the four households in my family are particularly concerned, but one daughter-in-law is a little anxious.

  3. Prayer for me for tomorrow. Taking the mother of my grandchild to the center for educational purposes and hoping to not only get to know each other a bit, but to let her know ours is a safe home in the event she needs it. Not necessarily escaping her family, I know nothing of them other than they appear to be letting my son live there with their daughter, though it appears they are less supportive than is needed. More from my son who does not appear to be treating her like the princess she is. Anyway, may my words be His words in His time. And may God be glorified.
