  1. πŸ™‚ Dear Granddaughter soon to turn 1!

    πŸ™‚ Party tomorrow!

πŸ™‚ One of my piano students got a new baby sister last month.

πŸ™‚ Baby was born on a Friday. At big sister’s piano lesson the following Thursday, I asked her if her sister had been born yet. She, 6 years old, replied yes, she was born last Friday. I said, “Oh, she’s 6 days old now,” to which she then replied, “No she’s not! She’s zero!” πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ Got an email with some good news yesterday. The studio co-owner who lines up students with teachers wrote me yesterday and told me that she found a way for me to continue teaching on Mondays, if I want to, after they close the location where I currently am that day. (That closing is slated for the end of this month.) They’re able to offer me a Monday slot in the new studio room being built this month at their other location because one of their guitar teachers is leaving. Demand for piano lessons is generally higher than for guitar lessons, and he had few students, so they’re not going to replace him, but offered me the space instead. I accepted. πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ My fall schedule is coming together well. Homeschool Monday through Friday. Late afternoon/evening piano lessons at the studio on Mondays and Thursdays and at home on Tuesdays. Wednesday evenings free to take 5th and 6th Arrows to Catechism class (or to set them up with Zoom if it’s done virtually). Weekends free to travel and babysit DG whenever 2nd Arrow and SIL want.

πŸ™‚ God is good. Life is beautiful. And eternal life with our Savior someday — the most precious gift of all.

  2. 😦 Connecticut already had electricity prices that are the highest (or very close to the highest) in the nation, and now our provider, Eversource, has hiked their “delivery fee” way up, so that the amount charged for delivery is now higher than the actual usage. People are up in arms about it, as you may imagine. It’s outrageous.

  3. ;( I am in desperate need of a haircut and, hopefully, a perm. Where to go??

Not sure if the dripping, sweaty hair after my walks is really stylish.

😒 Daughter sent a text that the Christian and Missionary Alliance headquarters may be relocated to Ohio. My son in law in on staff there which means if the headquarters move, so will my grandkids….oh and my son in law and daughter 😳

  5. πŸ™‚ It’s August. Normally I find that a little disappointing, as June and July are probably my favorite months (and after that, May and April), and I have a long time to wait to see them again. But this year? Let’s get it over with.

πŸ™‚ I’ve now managed to get photos outside 96 days in a row, since April 27. I’m shooting for 100, and I think I may just make it. (I’m in a Flickr group in which one tries to shoot at least one photo a day for a year, and so far I’ve made it every day–we’re on day 214 of the year–but in the winter days I sometimes got a shot indoors. In summer I’ve ventured out every day even if it rains all day. Only 10 days have I posted shots of manmade objects.)

😦 On a deadline and I have to put my nose back on that grindstone for my least favorite part of the process. But it’s due Monday, and if I’m diligent I can have it over with soon and get to my favorite part of the next book.

  6. πŸ™‚ Christmas is coming, unless it gets canceled. I’ve already watched a Hallmark Christmas movie this week.

πŸ™‚ Oooh, a tiffany lamp, genuine? Love Tiffany glass or even just Tiffany-style glass lamps.

πŸ™‚ My knee is feeling better! At long last, after 4+ months. Can’t wait to begin some short, easy dog walks, but I’m not quite there yet. Maybe in a week or two or three?

πŸ™‚ I think I’ll take a drive. I need to get gas anyway and it might be fun just to cruise around a bit. It’s too hot to garden and too early in the day to water.

  7. Windows 10!!! 😦 😦 I am finally working on a newsletter. I was working on cropping a picture when all of a sudden the picture changed or flipped. It did a reverse flip. I have no idea how that happened. At least I knew to hit undo several times. This newsletter may take longer than I thought.

  8. I actually went to a used car lot yesterday as they had a vehicle that I wanted. I looked around and did not see it. A salesman came out and we talked. I told him the kind of vehicle I wanted and even narrowed it to Subaru or Toyota or Honda. He said this is what we have pointing to some right there. When I got home I looked on the web site and there was the vehicle I wanted. I sent an inquiry asking if they still have it. The same guy answered and said yes and it was in pristine condition. Okay, was he just trying to get me to come in???? Not sure what is happening. I am willing to drive by, but that is about it.
