  1. I am fiding out just how much my husband loves me. He is putting a lot of time and effort into getting the camper up and running, discovering damage from years ago. But now he is off to a VFW meeting a couple hours away.

  2. πŸ™‚ I spent a week in Oregon and the weather was delightful. Nice and cool.

😦 Now I am back in California and trying to deal with the heat. I like to walk in the evening, but mornings are the cool time. Actually it cools off between 8 and 9 so I will go back out for a few more miles then.

  4. 😦 People who post on Facebook about something (in this case with a RIP) without explanation. Drama kings and queens drive me insane.

  5. But perhaps too much of a coincidence? What a loss.

from San Gabe Tribune our sister paper: ________________________

The legacy of St. Junipero Serra, the architect of the state’s system of 21 missions, has come under increased scrutiny during the intense focus on social and racial justice following the death of George Floyd, a Black man, after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes on Memorial Day.

Since then, protesters have demanded the removal of monuments to Serra and in some cases vandalized them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials were unable to enter the building after the flames were extinguished Saturday because of its instability.

  6. Kathaleena – What irks me are when someone posts something somewhat cryptic, and then when someone asks about it in the comments, reply, “I’ll PM you.” That gets me even more curious, but I don’t want to look nosy by asking myself.

  7. Kizzie, I find those post most annoying. They’re usually a form of marketing some product. Those people get snoozed for 30 days and if it keeps happening, then I block them. I have no patience for that. (can you tell?)

  8. Kizzie, that is what I was talking about. It has been several churches and mosques over the years so that makes it very bad and needing to be destroyed. Something about it being nice and people liking it. It has to go. No tears please.

  9. πŸ™‚ It’s raining. We really need it. We had two heavy but short rains earlier this week, but the water pretty much all drained down to the creeks and even so the creeks were just a trickle and the grass crispy.

πŸ™‚ I have had several nice long walks this week.

πŸ™‚ I’ve also had several phone calls with people I love.

πŸ™‚ Finally got the package from Australia that was ordered in early March.

πŸ™‚ Our new storage stuff from Ikea is due to arrive next week (bookcases and such, with the hopes that we can get rid of most of the rest of the boxes).

πŸ™‚ Another new editing project came in, and it’s a book that feels timely and important (no, not on the Corona virus or any current “news” story, but a deeper cultural issue).

😦 We still are only “livestreaming” church, with four months of services missed now. But wisdom is necessary in this one.

😦 The world situation on so many levels.

πŸ™‚ God’s in His heaven, all’s right with the world–or will be.

  10. Kare – The ones I see are merely people trying to get attention, or get sympathy for a problem they don’t want to talk about publicly.

  11. Many years ago, when I was just a kid, there was a comedian who’s tag line was, “Lord, I feel so unnecessary.”

(I have deleted in my mind, the comments I was going to make. Needless to say, It is a weird feeling for someone who was always doing something when he could.)

  12. In a few hours, we should be off on our adventure. No cell service, no internet. Don’t expect to hear from me but if you think of us, you are welcome to pray for us. Thanks. But we are not gone yet, so I will probably be rambling on for a while.

  13. 😦 πŸ˜€ I suppose this is a rant but it made me laugh.

Yesterday I received a new case I had ordered for my new phone. It’s in two pieces, front and back, which were put together when it arrived. It was hard to tell exactly where one piece ended and the other piece started, and every place I tried to pry it apart I had to stop because I feared I would break it.

“Why didn’t you just look at the instructions,” you might ask? Well, there were no instructions.

Finally I figured out how to separate the pieces. What do you suppose I found sandwiched between the styrofoam filler and the little warranty card?

Of course, instructions for how to take it apart and put it together.

  14. That wasn’t as clear as I meant it to be. I found it sandwiched between the styrofoam filler and little warranty card inside. But you probably figured that out.
