Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 55
1 Listen to my prayer, O God,
do not ignore my plea;
2 hear me and answer me.
My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught
3 because of what my enemy is saying,
because of the threats of the wicked;
for they bring down suffering on me
and assail me in their anger.
4 My heart is in anguish within me;
the terrors of death have fallen on me.
5 Fear and trembling have beset me;
horror has overwhelmed me.
6 I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest.
7 I would flee far away
and stay in the desert;
8 I would hurry to my place of shelter,
far from the tempest and storm.”
9 Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words,
for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 Day and night they prowl about on its walls;
malice and abuse are within it.
11 Destructive forces are at work in the city;
threats and lies never leave its streets.
12 If an enemy were insulting me,
I could endure it;
if a foe were rising against me,
I could hide.
13 But it is you, a man like myself,
my companion, my close friend,
14 with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship
at the house of God,
as we walked about
among the worshipers.
15 Let death take my enemies by surprise;
let them go down alive to the realm of the dead,
for evil finds lodging among them.
16 As for me, I call to God,
and the Lord saves me.
17 Evening, morning and noon
I cry out in distress,
and he hears my voice.
18 He rescues me unharmed
from the battle waged against me,
even though many oppose me.
19 God, who is enthroned from of old,
who does not change—
he will hear them and humble them,
because they have no fear of God.
20 My companion attacks his friends;
he violates his covenant.
21 His talk is smooth as butter,
yet war is in his heart;
his words are more soothing than oil,
yet they are drawn swords.
22 Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken.
23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked
into the pit of decay;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful
will not live out half their days.
But as for me, I trust in you.
I feel just like the Psalmist.
If I could just fly away.
Someday, maybe soon, I will.
But she needs me.
Seventy five percent of everything I do is to, for, or because of her.

Chas, God uses you daily to show us how to be loving in self sacrificial ways to others, especially to family and spouses in particular. When we each get to that point, some sooner than later, we can think about how you handled everything and showed us what to do. Thank you, Chas, for doing that for us here daily.
Thank You, God, for Chas and how he shows us how to be loving, thoughtful, and kind in good and bad circumstances. Please bless him in all the ways You know he needs at this time. Please keep him and Elvera strong throughout this global pandemic. Please keep the rest of their family safe and healthy also. Thank You for our communication systems and that Chas can look forward to his Hendersonville church service tomorrow. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayers here please, as my blood pressure is out of control. Well, not totally but way higher than it ought to be. On both numbers. I am eating fairly well though I took a vacation from that. Exercising, though I took a vacation from that. Thoughts that could be causing it: erratic sleep with daughter doing two or three days, two swings, and one night babysitting granny has to be flexible but I still generally get up at four thirty or so. Baby is not good at staying asleep yet. So, though I am ready to head Home, if God still wants me here, I would like to be healthy enough to continue working at whatever He gives me.

From the “Hope for the Wolof” Facebook page.
“Countries with substantial Wolof populations have closed borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although some cases have arrived via in-coming flights before the airports closed, there have only been a few cases of local transmission. The governments are acting proactively and strongly limiting public gathering.
Wolof culture is very social with extended families sharing family compounds. Social distancing will be almost impossible with large families in relatively close quarters. On the plus side, much of life is lived outside and this virus is vulnerable to heat which is not in short supply in West Africa. On the scarier side, the medical infrastructure is not equipped to handle serious cases.
Please pray for the people of West Africa and for the missionaries choosing to ride out this pandemic alongside the people they love.”

Mumsee, pineapple and celery will help control blood pressure. Pineapple juice works quickly. And lower your salt intake which you knew. Prayers, too.

Thanks, Janice, I have been eating celery. I will check the pantry for pineapple juice.

Success! My hero has come through for me once again. Pineapple is probably my favorite juice but I don’t drink juice so it was sitting in there waiting.

Janice: numbers went from 157/102 to 135/94. Getting there! Thank you! And thank You, God for the care found in the Body of Believers.

A few days ago, I went to the store to buy necessities. I wanted our staple, orange juice.
They were out of OJ, so I bought pineapple juice instead.
She loves it.

Nightingale texted earlier that she has five patients with respiratory symptoms, and they were tested today for the coronavirus, and it will take a few days for the results.
EXCEPT later they realized they used the wrong swabs. It will take a few days to get the correct swabs and then a few days more for the results. I don’t mean to be critical, but this is no time for that kind of incompetence.
Meanwhile, we don’t know if Nightingale has been exposed to the virus or not.
As for me, I have a scratchy throat, but I’m sure it’s just a cold.
Hoping and praying that 6 Arrows’ symptoms are also “just a cold”.

I feel a little bad about that comment about incompetence, but really, they have had time to look into what needs to be done and to have on hand the correct things they need – or at least know what is correct and what is not.

I’m doing OK, I think. The symptoms mostly come and go and are pretty mild. The sore throat, persistent during the morning and afternoon yesterday, when it was formerly come-and-go, seems to have gone completely now. It left last night and hasn’t returned at all today. A headache seemed to replace it, plaguing me last evening and this morning and afternoon. Now that’s gone, too.
Still a little shortness of breath on exertion, and now some muscle weakness at times during the day; mild tummy ache and a bit of nausea now and then today. Nothing that’s interfered with normal activity, though.
No cough, congestion, or fever.
It’s all so strange.
And thankfully no one else in the family is having any of these symptoms.
Thanks for praying.

They do say, if you don’t feel normal, as you normally do when sick, that is a sign of it. Which does not mean you have it.

I am feeling much better this afternoon and evening. Might be that whole bottle of Sparkling Grape Cider I drank in two days, or the really warm weather that has me sweating upstairs while wearing summer clothes. Or maybe it was just that magical seeming healer of time, and most important our supernatural God Who truly enables all healing.

So glad the pineapple juice helped, Mumsee. I love to make a smoothy with it and plain low fat yogurt with a sprinkle of ginger. But ginger can raise blood pressure. I like the ginger because it decreases inflamation. And it tastes good to me.

My friend, Karen, fell today and they had to call EMS to get her upright. She is pretty sore. Also her diuretic is not keeping things under control. Prayers appreciated. She does not need to be in the hospital these days. She fell while dealing with the cat litter boxes which she should not be doing.

Praying for Kare, especially today, and her husband. Praying for Six and the real. Praying for little brother (doesn’t hurt even if you are not sick). Michelle and her vertigo. Did I miss anybody?

Daughter just got in from work. She says that one client and one worker from the facility went in last night for testing as they both had fevers and other symptoms. This word comes from a less than reliable source but certainly possible. Prayer for truth, as always, and that this would turn people to Christ and their need for Him.

Husband is coughing now. It sounds like there’s stuff coming up with it, though, and not the dry cough that I think is characteristic of COVID-19??
Thanks for all the prayers. My only symptoms this morning are a bit of muscle weakness and a sort of tight-chest feeling, the latter of which may have been caused by the peanut butter toast I had for breakfast. Sometimes I can eat peanut butter just fine, and other times it seems to cause tightness in the chest. I probably should not be eating any of that at a time like this.

Let’s pray for Jo, too. She had two bouts of diarrhea on the 27th, which can be how the virus manifests.

I got my own free Zoom account today so I could host our Bible Study group for a little prayer time this evening. We hadn’t met since March 1. It was a blessing to see everyone.
