Prayer Requests 3-13-20

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 39

A psalm of David.

I said, “I will watch my ways
    and keep my tongue from sin;
   I will put a muzzle on my mouth
    while in the presence of the wicked.”
So I remained utterly silent,
    not even saying anything good.
   But my anguish increased;
my heart grew hot within me.
   While I meditated, the fire burned;
    then I spoke with my tongue:

“Show me, Lord, my life’s end
    and the number of my days;
    let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
    the span of my years is as nothing before you.
   Everyone is but a breath,
    even those who seem secure.

“Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom;
    in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth
    without knowing whose it will finally be.

“But now, Lord, what do I look for?
    My hope is in you.
Save me from all my transgressions;
    do not make me the scorn of fools.
I was silent; I would not open my mouth,
    for you are the one who has done this.
10 Remove your scourge from me;
    I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
11 When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin,
    you consume their wealth like a moth—
    surely everyone is but a breath.

12 “Hear my prayer, Lord,
    listen to my cry for help;
    do not be deaf to my weeping.
   I dwell with you as a foreigner,
    a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
13 Look away from me, that I may enjoy life again
    before I depart and am no more.”

  1. I have an eye exam at 9:30 this morning.
    It has to do with my driver’s license.
    I am apprehensive because of the trouble it would cause if I couldn’t drive anymore.
    But, I haven’t noticed any change since my last exam.

    As someone said yesterday, “God knows what He’s doing”.
    But I can’t help but be apprehensive.

    I am busy this morning, so it may be afternoon before I get back.

  2. Praying along with you Chas. I too must renew my license this July and I have much apprehension about it all. I must go to the ophthalmologist and have my eyes tested beforehand and take a document stating I can see! Praying your eyes will pass the muster for the licensing bureau ❤️ 👀

  3. My daughter is in the middle of the health crisis in LA. Some hospital ERs jammed, others nearly empty. They gown up for Covid transfers, but she’s sure she’s been exposed. Mama heart is racing.

    Please pray for all who are in contact as God’s hands and feet to people who are frightened and panicked. Our God is in control, we can trust Him.

    We know that, but does anyone else?

  4. Please pray my SIL will be able to get home from his business in Alaska when he can do so. He may be there for a week or so yet. Also pray he will not bring the disease home to his mom, who is very vulnerable.

  5. The man who did the delivery of the printer paper said his dad is in Ohio and just received a liver transplant. Unfortunately the liver was too big. Now the man is having kidney issues. This son is going up to see him. It sounds pretty dire. I don’t know names, but please pray for them. I can’t imagine that on top of this other Corona virus madness.

  6. Isn’t that an amazing thing? I am sitting in my living room praying for a man in Ohio because of a guy in Georgia because of a woman on the internet, and God knows of whom I speak and what his needs are.

  7. Please pray for protection from the coronavirus for my friend Mike, who is 70, and is on oxygen due to COPD. His wife Cindy, who is my age, is the lady who drives me to church. Cindy came very close to losing Mike from sepsis about three years ago. Also, thinking of Cheryl‘s husband, who has health issues. Others come to mind as well, including my neighbor Mark who has a bad heart.

    Praying for protection from the worst of it for all of us here on the blog and our loved ones. Also praying for a move of the Holy Spirit to open eyes and hearts, and to draw many to Jesus.

  8. Oh! I meant to name our Roscuro, too, with her asthma. (Of course, she is included in “all of us here on the blog”, but wanted to name her specifically because of her health.)

  9. And remember Kevin has some heart issues, Linda has diabetes, and Art has COPD but not so bad as some, and my friend Karen has a multitude of CV issues, and my brother has diabetes, oh dear, just so many in bad situations for this illness being on the rampage. Please, Lord give all in our realms supernatural immunity as a wonderful gift from Your hands of protection. Please may remedies be quickly found, tests readily available, and may many lives be saved by unexpected relief from COVID-19. I lift my prayer in the name of Jesus, Amen.

  10. Yes, yes yes, I also was thinking, as I walked the dogs tonight, of all our friends who are more at risk right now. And anyone on the front lines, in health care and in jobs where they must interact closely with the public, especially the first responders (Michelle’s daughter comes to mind)
