  1. We drove south yesterday. First stop is Brunswick, Georgia, where we’ll bike on Jekyll Island this afternoon. I waved to Janice as we passed by Savannah. Tomorrow we head to Ocola, Florida, where there are several nice trails.

  2. πŸ™‚ Another grandson just found out he is accepted and has a full scholarship for a month long Governor’s school this summer. This is for his saxophone playing.

  3. 😦 Sick, no trip

πŸ™‚ I started wondering earlier in the week if I should take this trip. So I prayed, “Lord, if you don’t want me to go, make it clear.”

    πŸ™‚ So, I can’t complain.

πŸ™‚ Because I was going on a trip, I did all my work in advance.

πŸ™‚ I can lounge around reading and napping because next week’s work is done. πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ Half my relatives weren’t going to be at the shower tomorrow anyway–and they were one of three reasons I was going.

😦 Daughter could have used my ears.

πŸ™‚ Her father, on the phone, was a better source to air her problems.

πŸ™‚ The cousin she’s hiking with today in the desert is also a better source than Mom, other than not having the spiritual angle.

😦 They’re hiking in the desert.

πŸ™‚ I don’t like the desert, so I’m glad I’m not hiking there today.

  4. I am keeping a good attitude, because God is in charge and He does not make mistakes.

Last August my friend contacted someone about taking out trees on my property and trimming even more of them. It is over 6k worth of work. She told me they couldn’t do it until February. Then when I came home she said they wouldn’t be able to do it until March.

But we didn’t have a date. So this week I texted her and asked if I should call them. I didn’t want to interfere if she was already talking to them. She responded to call them.

I did and left a message. Then the wife called me back in the evening. We talked and talked while she tried to find me on the schedule. Finally she had me take a photo of the documents that I had and email them to her. She found them.

But, it turns out that my friend had never confirmed that we wanted the work done! 😦

She asked when I was leaving the country and was not sure if even that would work as they are scheduling so far out. They were leaving for central American vacation the next day so I wished them well. God is in charge.

I don’t plan on mentioning it to my friend as she doesn’t need to know.

  6. Michelle, it depends on where in the desert one hikes. Some desert can be astonishingly beautiful. I lived in Mohave County, Arizona, for two years, and that is ugly desert. When I was in college and went back to Phoenix, a friend visited me. I told her that I wanted us to go on a hike in the desert. I took my camera; she asked if she could borrow it to take a photo, and she never did give it back to me that evening, she was so busy taking photos. She told me later that she wasn’t excited about going out to “the desert,” but that this is really pretty!

And February really is a perfect time for a visit to the desert; it won’t be hot. But then, April and May are perfect too–desert blooms!

  7. πŸ™‚ Finished most of the Valentine cards.

😦 Still have about 15 more in which to write greetings.

πŸ™‚ Got away with my hubby yesterday, on a cold but sunshine-filled day.

πŸ™‚ We saw (and photographed) a pair of bald eagles. I counted recently that I have seen ten species of raptors in Indiana–and I saw six of those species yesterday!

πŸ™‚ We also saw lots of sandhill cranes and got some photos, 😦 though unfortunately they weren’t as close to the road as last time.

πŸ™‚ Lots and lots of editing is coming in,

😦 almost too much to keep up with.

πŸ™‚ My husband painted me a Valentine card. That’s good on more than one level. One is that he has been talking for years about getting back to painting, but never really doing it. Now, hopefully, he’s committed to actually doing it. Plus the card is very pretty and sweet.

  8. Chas – Is she confused as to whether or not the two of you are married?

My MIL Mary was once disgusted, thinking that Hubby and I were shacking up, not married.

  9. Karen, It usually happens after sundown.
She is then confused about everything.
She is confused about where she lives and who she lives with.
But she knows me and that I care for her.
I have no trouble with her, for which I am thankful
I hear that some with that malady can be difficult.
