  1. Take the advice Mr. President, and just shut up.

    Let Barr handle it.

Hush up, and just pardon him later. 🙂

“The White House says President Trump isn’t “bothered” or deterred after Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News on Thursday that the president’s tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job,” in an unusual swipe at the president — although Barr emphasized that Trump “has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case.”

Barr’s unexpected comments came days after Trump, in a late-night tweet earlier this week, criticized career Justice Department prosecutors for recommending a nine-year prison sentence for his former advisor Roger Stone. Senior DOJ leaders then intervened and adjusted the sentencing recommendation downward, saying it was clearly excessive given Stone’s obstruction-related offenses. All four prosecutors on the case stepped down within hours.

“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr said. “I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody … whether it’s Congress, a newspaper editorial board, or the president.”

Barr continued, “I’m gonna do what I think is right, and you know… I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.”

The attorney general said he could not “assure the courts and the prosecutors and the department that we’re doing our work with integrity” if the White House appeared involved in DOJ decisionmaking for political or personal reasons.”

Democrats will say this is impeachable, of course, but it’s not.

  2. Denial, it’s not just a river in Egypt…..

“Democrats remain in denial over the Trump economy

While their presidential hopefuls talk doom and gloom, the numbers tell a different story”

    “By any means necessary
First, they tell voters, as James Carville told Vox, “We have one moral imperative here, and that’s beating Trump. Nothing else matters.” The party base loves this kind of self-affirming “by any means necessary” rhetoric. It makes OK holding up the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement while farmers are hurting and justifies putting the country through a divisive impeachment process. But it doesn’t do much to further the Democratic Party as the majoritarian party Carville says he wants.

But it is their second objective that is more problematic for Democrats. In debate after debate, appearance after appearance, their presidential hopefuls are trying to make the case that, despite a mountain of statistics to the contrary, the economy isn’t working for most Americans. In other words, they’re asking voters, “Who are you going to believe — us or the Bureau of Labor Statistics?”

Elizabeth Warren kicked things off in the first presidential debate by saying, “When you’ve got an economy that does great for those with money and isn’t doing great for everyone else, that is corruption, pure and simple. We need to call it out.” Democrats have been doing it ever since.”

    “In the real world
But there’s an underlying problem with this argument. The economic numbers tell a different story and people know it. Trump’s RealClearPolitics average economic job approval this week is at 56 percent approve and 39 percent disapprove.

But even worse for Democratic strategists is Gallup’s Mood of the Nation survey from last month that found 59 percent of Americans saying they are better off financially than a year ago and a staggering 74 percent believing they will be better off next year.

Good news for Trump. Very bad news for a Democratic strategy that depends on convincing people that the Trump economy is bad for America. And Tuesday, the head of the Fed didn’t make things any easier for the Democrats.”

  3. The violence only ever goes one way.

“Retired NYPD Detective Punched Over MAGA Style Birthday Hat

“A female came up from behind me, spun me around, and punched me in the face and then grabbed my hat off my head and was just yelling, ‘How dare you.’”

“Daniel Sprague was at The Stage bar on Broadway sporting a gift his wife gave him for his 50th birthday bash—a hat that says “Make 50 Great Again.” The hat is styled to look like a “Make America Great Again” hat that supporters of President Donald Trump wear.

“People were just coming up to me and, you know, just loving the little word play on the hat and taking pictures and wishing me happy birthday,” Sprague told News4.

However, one woman at the bar was not as amused.”

  4. Quick! Someone remind me again that it’s supposedly Trump who’s out there destroying “norms.”

First they want to destroy the long tradition of the Electoral College, now packing the Supreme Court with secret picks just to try and get around Trump’s fair and legal appointments.

“Carrie Severino: 2020 Democrats are looking to ‘pack’ the Supreme Court with secret picks”

“On Feb. 8, just before America’s first-in-the-nation primary, Demand Justice, the left-wing group dedicated to transforming our courts, hosted a New Hampshire forum for Democratic presidential candidates, along with the abortion-focused groups NARAL, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and the All* Above All Action Fund. These groups were able to attract all the viable Democratic presidential contenders with the exception of former Vice President Joe Biden.

Let’s give the event hosts credit for a forum that gave us a chance to hear from the candidates on the subject of the courts, a topic that has rarely come up during the debates. They did voters a service, however unintentionally, by revealing just how dangerous it would be to our judicial system to elect a Democratic president in 2020.

The leading contenders made it clear they would advocate changing the very structure of the Supreme Court in order to advance their liberal ideology — or, to use the more familiar term, packing the court. Consider as a historical reference point Franklin D. Roosevelt’s notorious proposal of 1937, which would have authorized the expansion of the Supreme Court to as many as 15 justices. Although Democrats dominated Congress at the time, enough of them had the statesmanship to recognize a blow to our judicial system when they saw it, and accordingly blocked it.

As celebrated as Roosevelt has been among presidents, that episode is widely agreed to be among the lowest points of his administration, which helps explain why all of his successors had enough common sense and respect for our institutions not to advance a similar scheme.

Fast forward to 2020. Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is touting the idea of expanding the court to as many as 15 justices. It’s almost as if we needed an explicit reminder that the next Democratic president would repeat the worst mistakes of the past. Other contenders followed suit with court-packing ideas.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., would rotate Supreme Court justices and limit their terms. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., was not asked about court-packing at the forum, but was one of the first of the pack to entertain it as “a conversation that’s worth having.”

Of course, court-packing is an extreme means of advancing an extreme agenda — using the courts as a vehicle to advance policy preferences instead of going through the people’s elected representatives. Buttigieg stated succinctly, “My appointments will make the court more progressive.” Whenever the question came up at the forum, the candidates admitted they would impose a litmus test on abortion, the environment, and labor when making judicial nominations, even on the circuit level.

Yet even at an event focused on the courts, none of the Democrats had the guts to name names of the people they are considering for Supreme Court. Not even Sanders or Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who have each spent 13 years in the Senate and claim they have lists of potential judges ready to go.”

You can’t know, because you wouldn’t support them if you did.

  5. A fitting tribute as the anti-abortion side says? Or political grandstanding as the pro-abortion side says?

I guess it depends on your view of abortion. But this does seem much more humane.

“Hundreds Join Indiana Attorney General to Bury Thousands of Dead Babies Found at Abortion Doctor’s House

“These babies deserved better than a cold, dark garage or the trunk of a car.”

“Hundreds of people joined Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill to properly bury and mourn thousands of dead babies found in the garage of abortion doctor Dr. Ulrich Klopfer.

Klopfer’s relatives found 2,246 remains in his garage after he passed away. Officials found 165 more in a car at a business in Chicago.

Klopfer not only kept the remains, but preserved the bodies with formalin in cardboard boxes.”

    From WXII:

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill held the burial at a cemetery in South Bend, “keeping them together in rest, each of them connected by their common fate,” he said.

“Today, we finally memorialize the 2,411 unborn babies whose remains were senselessly hoarded by Dr. Ulrich Klopfer after he performed the abortions from 2000 to 2003,” Hill said at the burial. “These babies deserved better than a cold, dark garage or the trunk of a car.”

  6. Like I said, it’s a one way street…..

“Man Arrested For Attacking 15-Year-Old Trump Supporter In New Hampshire, Police Say”

“A 34-year-old man was arrested in New Hampshire on Thursday after he attacked a 15-year-old Trump supporter who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and two other adults at a polling site earlier this week.

Fox News reported that Windham Police Department arrested Patrick Bradley and charged him with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

“Police said the incident happened Tuesday as Bradley exited the voting location inside the high school and was walking by a Trump campaign tent occupied by several supporters,” Fox News reported. “As he passed by the tent, police said, Bradley slapped a 15-year old juvenile across the face and then assaulted two other adults who attempted to intercede.”

Bradley was also accused of throwing Trump signs and trying to destroy the tent.

The boy’s mother, Cathy Campbell, told Fox News, “My son was standing outside on the sidewalk and he said ‘have a nice night,’ he said it to everyone. But this man was triggered. He said ‘@#$# you’ to him and wound up his hand as fast as he could and slapped him across the face.”

The attack comes after a group of Republican volunteers were attacked over the weekend in Florida when a man rammed a vehicle through a tent where they were volunteering.”

  7. Breaking News…..

    Big too.

“Breaking: US, Taliban Agree On Truce, AP Reports; Update: ABC Confirms;”

“Has America’s longest war come to an end? The Associated Press reports that the US and the Taliban have reached a formal truce agreement that will use the seven-day “reduction in violence” framework. The deal includes commitment to an “all-Afghan” peace conference to begin within the next two weeks after the cease-ish fire period:

A senior U.S.official said Friday the United States and the Taliban have reached a truce agreement that will take effect “very soon” and could lead to withdrawals of American troops from Afghanistan.

The official said the agreement for a seven-day “reduction in violence” to be followed by the start of all-Afghan peace talks within 10 days is “very specific” and covers the entire country including Afghan forces.”

  8. Remember in the future folks, it’s only a crime when us commoners do it.

Let’s hope Durham isn’t such a @#$%$$@ and unlike the IG actually charges him on his other crimes.

  9. This one is long overdue. 🙂

“Michael Avenatti found GUILTY in Nike Extortion Case

Avenatti still faces additional charges in other cases”

“Infamous anti-Trump lawyer, and one-time possible Democrat presidential candidate, Michael Avenatti has been found guilty on all counts in the Nike Extortion case.

Avenatti aggressively (surprise) attacked Nike after the charges were filed, Michael Avenatti Goes On Attack Against Nike Despite Extortion Charges.”
