  1. Yes, I’m starting early. 🙂

“President Donald Trump signed an executive order that directs the government to begin addressing the many unsolved cases of murdered and missing Native American women and children.

A 2008 study found women in some tribal communities are 10 times more likely to be murdered than the average American.

The National Crime Information Center said there were 5,712 reports of missing American Indians and Alaska Native women and girls in 2016 but only 116 of the cases were logged in the federal missing persons database.

The executive order, called Operation Lady Justice, establishes a task force to combat the issue.

Native American leaders and Attorney General William Barr gathered around Trump in the Oval Office for the signing session.

Shannon Holsey, president of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Band of Mohican Indians, said in a statement after the executive order was signed that it was an “important first step.”

“While there is so much that needs to be done to stop the violence perpetrated on Native women and girls, I appreciate the Administration for taking an important first step in establishing this Task Force,” Holsey said.

The order created an interagency task force which will be led by the Department of Justice and Department of the Interior.

Barr announced the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Initiative during a visit with tribal leaders and law enforcement officials on the Flathead Reservation in Montana. The initiative will invest $1.5 million in hiring specialized coordinators in the offices of 11 U.S. attorneys who will be responsible for coming up with protocols for a more coordinated response to violence against indigenous people.”

  2. It was 50, but the list has grown, obviously…. 🙄

    Updated yesterday.

“101 Media Mistakes in the Trump Era: The Definitive List”

“We the media have “fact-checked” President Trump like we have fact-checked no other human being on the planet—and he’s certainly given us plenty to write about. That’s probably why it’s so easy to find lists enumerating and examining his mistakes, missteps and “lies.”

But as self-appointed arbiters of truth, we’ve largely excused our own unprecedented string of fact-challenged reporting. The truth is, formerly well-respected, top news organizations are making repeat, unforced errors in numbers that were unheard of just a couple of years ago.

Our repeat mistakes involve declaring that Trump’s claims are “lies” when they are matters of opinion, or when the truth between conflicting sources is unknowable; taking Trump’s statements and events out of context; reporting secondhand accounts against Trump without attribution as if they’re established fact; relying on untruthful, conflicted sources; and presenting reporter opinions in news stories—without labeling them as opinions.

What’s worse, we defend ourselves by trying to convince the public that our mistakes are actually a virtue because we (sometimes) correct them. Or we blame Trump for why we’re getting so much wrong. It’s a little bit like a police officer taking someone to jail for DUI, then driving home drunk himself: he may be correct to arrest the suspect, but he should certainly know better than to commit the same violation.

So since nobody else has compiled an updated, extensive list of this kind, here are:
101 Notable Mistakes and Missteps in Major Media Reporting on Donald Trump”

  3. Nope, not political at all…. 🙄

  4. Let me be the first to say……

    They. Have. Nothing! 🙂

  5. Republicans Pounce! says the media, which tells you all you need to know. 🙂

“You can tell things aren’t going well for the Democrats when the news media’s spin is “Republicans pounce.” Via the Gateway Pundit, the Associated Press laments how Republicans are taking advantage of the Democrats’ valiant impeachment efforts:”

“I love how Republicans are “wielding impeachment as an offensive weapon!” The AP’s actual news story tones it down some:

Republicans aim to use the House drive toward impeaching President Donald Trump to whittle down Democrats’ majority by dislodging vulnerable incumbents from swing districts loaded with moderate voters.

It could work, especially in Democratic-held districts Trump carried in 2016 with throngs of independent voters who polls shows are closely divided over his removal. Or it could flop, in an era when news zooms by so swiftly that today’s concerns may be eclipsed in 11 months and many people are more focused on pocketbook issues such as health care costs.

Some would say that voters’ focusing on pocketbook issues is what makes the Democrats vulnerable.”

  6. This will be interesting. A 3 year window into who is paying/bribing Hunter Biden could be most enlightening reading. It’s also interesting that he’s seeking a court order to hide that info too.

“Hunter Biden blows off court hearing over child support as his lawyer abruptly quits while glam baby mama Lunden Roberts leaves court after judge demanded three years of tax returns from ex-VP’s troubled son

Hunter Biden’s baby mama Lunden Roberts was seen for the first time since filing her paternity suit against Hunter Biden in an Arkansas court on Monday

Biden’s lawyer, who was representing him in his case against Roberts, abruptly quit during the hearing DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal

Biden was not in the second-floor courtroom in Batesville, Ark. when his attorney Dustin McDaniel quit

But Roberts, 28, was sitting in the front row wearing black heels, a black zip-up jacket and white stripe pants

Biden is said to have met Roberts when she was a stripper working in a ‘gentlemen’s club’ in Washington D.C

Judge Don McSpadden said he would need at least three years of Biden’s tax returns before he could reach a decision on support for the child

The court hearing came days after DailyMail.com revealed Biden filed a motion for a Protective Order of his financial records last week

Roberts is suing Biden for $11K in legal fees as well as child support payments”

  7. We need to act. Mexico won’t in many cases, and simply can’t in others. Like this one.

“A Drug Cartel Just Defeated The Mexican Military In Battle

Mexico is in a state of collapse, and Americans need to realize that the crisis underway south of the Rio Grande won’t stop at the border.

The southwest U.S. border might be quieter now than it was this spring at the height of the migrant crisis, but south of the Rio Grande the Mexican state is disintegrating.

Last Thursday in the city of Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa state, a battle erupted between government forces and drug cartel gunmen after the Mexican military captured two sons of jailed drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. The elder son, Ivan, was quickly freed by his men, who overpowered government forces and secured his release. Ivan then launched an all-out siege of the entire city in an effort to free his younger brother, Ovidio.

The ensuing scene could have been mistaken for Syria or Yemen. Footage posted on social media Thursday showed burning vehicles spewing black smoke, heavily armed gunmen blocking roads, dead bodies strewn in the streets, and residents fleeing for cover amid high-caliber gunfire.

Armed with military-grade weapons and driving custom-built armored vehicles, cartel henchmen targeted security forces throughout Culiacan, launching more than one dozen separate attacks on Mexican security forces. They captured and held hostage eight soldiers, then kidnapped their families. Amid the fighting, an unknown number of inmates escaped from a nearby prison. At least eight people were killed and more than a dozen were injured.

The eight-hour battle ended when government forces, outgunned and surrounded, without reinforcements or a way to retreat, received an order directly from Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to release their prisoner and surrender. Lopez Obrador later defended this decision, insisting that his security strategy is working and saying, “Many people were at risk and it was decided to protect people’s lives. I agreed with that, because we don’t do massacres, that’s over.”

Mexico is a failed state bowing to terrorists at this point. We need to act accordingly.

  8. Chik-Fil-A is lost.

So if we threaten to boycott them and say mean things like the left does, will they cave back to our demands? They seem cowardly enough to fall for it.

“Shock and Betrayal: Chick-Fil-A Has Donated to SPLC and Many Other Left-Wing Groups”

“Earlier this month, Chick-fil-A announced that it would stop donating to three Christian organizations that have long been attacked as anti-LGBT “hate groups” by left-wing pressure groups, leaving the restaurant chain’s conservative allies feeling betrayed.

While Chick-fil-A claimed in a statement that it was simply restructuring its philanthropy—not caving in to political correctness—it was not lost on conservatives that all three groups—The Salvation Army, Paul Anderson Youth Home and Fellowship of Christian Athletes— all have traditional views on human sexuality and have been characterized as “anti-LGBT” by gay rights groups.”

“Chick-fil-A funds the deeply political YWCA, a radically pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ organization that repeatedly partners with Planned Parenthood.

Chick-fil-A also funds the DC-based New Leaders Council that identifies as a “hub of progressive millennial thought leadership” which exists to “support one another along their individual path to a more progressive political and cultural landscape.”

Chick-fil-A has given a sizable donation ($50k) to The Pace Center for Girls, yet another pro-abortion organization. The education and advocacy group featured radical pro-abortion feminist Gloria Steinem (the “I Had An Abortion” activist who declared that birthing children is the “fundamental cause of climate change”) as their keynote speaker for their most recent girls’ Summit.

Chick-fil-A also gives tens of thousands to Chris 180 ($27,500 in 2017, $25k in 2019), a pro-LGBT behavioral health and child welfare service agency. The organization boasts of being awarded the “Leader in Supporting and Serving LGBT Families and Youth from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC).” Nothing promotes human degradation quite like the pro-abortion HRC—the multi-million dollar LGBT powerhouse that recently pushed for the legalization of prostitution in D.C.

You can always love and serve the broken without affirming the brokenness.

And then there’s Junior Achievement (JA), which inarguably does some phenomenal work with education and entrepreneurship. They’re the recipients of hundreds of thousands a year from Chick-fil-A. In 2016, though, JA joined a coalition (Georgia Prospers) of pro-LGBT organizations in their “Too Busy to Hate” campaign to politically oppose religious liberty legislation (specifically the First Amendment Defense Act) from passing in Georgia.”

  9. Oh look…..

    That’s quite a “coincidence,” isn’t it?

“Schiff hired former NSC colleague of alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella the day after Trump’s Ukraine call”

“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff hired a former National Security Council aide who worked with alleged Ukraine whistleblower Eric Ciaramella at the NSC during the Obama and Trump administrations the day after the phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It was previously reported by the Washington Examiner that public records indicated Sean Misko, 37, started work on Schiff’s committee in August as a professional staff member. A specific start date was not available until this week, when the latest congressional quarterly disbursements were released.

The new records show that Misko’s official hire date was July 26.

Misko was the director for the Gulf States at the NSC between 2015 until the first half of 2018. The Washington Examiner has established that the whistleblower is a CIA officer who was on the NSC during the Obama administration and worked on Ukrainian issues with Joe Biden, the 2020 Democratic candidate, when he was vice president.

Ciaramella, 33, is a career CIA analyst and was the Ukraine director on the NSC from 2016 until the summer of 2017. In October 2016, he was Biden’s guest at a State Department banquet.

Before joining the NSC, Misko worked in the Obama administration at the State Department for deputy chief of staff Jake Sullivan, who went on to become Hillary Clinton’s senior foreign policy adviser during her 2016 presidential campaign.

Both Ciaramella and Misko started their tenures during the Obama administration and left during the first year of the Trump administration. The Washington Examiner was told by a former senior White House official that both had a close, “bro-like” relationship while working at the NSC together.

A career CIA analyst with Ukraine expertise, the alleged whistleblower filed an Aug. 12 complaint with the Intelligence Community inspector general about the July 25 phone conversation between Trump and Zelensky.

The suspected whistleblower did this after meeting with and told a House Intelligence Committee aide on Schiff’s staff about the call, which is now the focus of impeachment proceedings. Before going to the Schiff aide, the whistleblower informed the CIA legal counsel’s office.

Schiff initially denied he knew about the complaint before it was filed in mid-August.

“We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to,” Schiff said on Sept. 17. However, the statement was false, and an aide from his staff had spoken to the whistleblower before the whistleblower complaint was submitted.

The identity of the Schiff aide who spoke to the whistleblower has not been made public, and it has not been confirmed until now that Misko was on Schiff’s staff at the time.”

This fish stinks from the head down.

  10. Censorship 2020 has begun. All to the benefit of Democrats, of course….. 🙄

“A report released over the weekend alleges that YouTube and parent company Google have removed hundreds of political ads from President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign for “violating company policy,” but won’t give any details on what policies were violated.

An investigation by CBS News’ “60 Minutes” found that “over 300 video ads were taken down by Google and YouTube, mostly over the summer, for violating company policy.”

“But the archive doesn’t detail what policy was violated,” CBS News continued. “Was it copyright violation? A lie or extreme inaccuracy? Faulty grammar? Bad punctuation? It’s unclear. The ads determined to be offending are not available to be screened. We found very little transparency in the transparency report.”

“As you know, conservatives think that you discriminate against them,” Lesley Stahl told YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. “How do you answer that?”

“Well, first of all there are lots of very successful conservative creators on YouTube,” Wojcicki said. “Our systems, our algorithms, they don’t have any concept of understanding what’s a Democrat, what’s a Republican.”

Wojcicki claimed that the company faces the same criticism from the Left and that YouTube’s goal is to enforce the rules equally.

“They don’t have any concept of political bias built into them in any way,” Wojcicki continued. “And we do hear this criticism from all sides. We also have people who come from more liberal backgrounds who complain about discrimination. And so I think that no matter who you are, we are trying to enforce our policies in a consistent way for everybody.”

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale slammed Google late last month, accusing the tech giant of blatantly attempting to suppress “voter information, knowledge, and engagement in the 2020 election” by “severely restricting political advertising.”

Notable sections from Parscale’s statement hitting Google:

This is most true when we talk about the use of first party (1p) data. Voters voluntarily provide information about themselves – 1p data – and specifically provide insight into what issues and candidates they care about. By doing this, voters are digitally raising their hand and saying, “Please communicate with me.” This ensures they can be reached and informed as they have directly requested. Voters can also learn about ways to volunteer on campaigns, about key campaign events and fundraising efforts, and of course, about where and when to vote. Google is now arbitrarily saying this is not allowed. There is no other description for this than the muzzling of political speech. Google is clamping down on voter engagement and suppressing voter turnout. …

…Much has been made of Twitter’s equally concerning decision to ban political ads and suppress speech, but because advertising on that platform is ineffective and only a tiny percentage of Americans use Twitter, their impact is insignificant. Google, however, is a serious platform with very deep reach across the entire country.”

  11. One of my Facebook friends (I forget exactly who, but he is a fellow believer) shared this Snopes article on the Chick-fil-A brouhaha.

“However, when asked by Snopes, a spokesperson for Chick-fil-A did not link the strategic shift to concerns over the LGBT-rights records of the groups in question, and would not rule out any group receiving funding in future, “as long as they are highly effective in areas of hunger, homelessness and education.”

Furthermore, many news reports markedly failed to mention that the fast food company’s change in approach to charitable donations did not appear to have been specifically targeted at Christian organizations perceived as anti-LGBT, and that in fact more than 80 groups — many of them with no religious affiliation — who received funding in 2019, would also no longer be funded.

On Nov. 18, Chick-fil-A announced a new donations strategy for the Chick-fil-A Foundation, the company’s official philanthropic arm. The statement read:

“Starting in 2020, the Chick-fil-A Foundation is introducing a more focused giving approach to provide additional clarity and impact with the causes it supports. Staying true to its mission of nourishing the potential in every child, the Chick-fil-A Foundation will deepen its giving to a smaller number of organizations working exclusively in the areas of education, homelessness and hunger.”

  12. I suspect the lesson in all of this for businesses is to be very careful with those kinds of donations — or maybe better yet, to forego them altogether. At least in our current political and cultural climate.

Chick-fil-A kind of stepped in it, intentionally or not, making all sides angry. Of course, the donations were coupled with the founder’s public statements about gay marriage some years ago so connecting the dots here wasn’t didn’t take a leap of any kind, in my view.

Because the restaurant was having so much trouble getting into new markets, I think it’s clear they realized they’d have to moderate their public reputation in order to expand the business. I think I’d mentioned before that a Chick-fil-A proposed in LA faced all kinds of roadblocks from the councilman who represented that particular district. The company eventually went away without ever pursuing the many approvals they’d need.

When one was suggested for our community (also part of LA), there was a flash of social media resistance that did not bode well. It would have been a fight all the way.

It was clear the company would not be able to easily advance into more liberal areas going forward, at least not without a nasty and public fight.

At some point, doing and growing the business is, after all, the company’s main mission. So they did what they had to do, but now are feeling the heat from other side.

  13. I could care less what Snopes says. Same goes for Chik-Fil-A’s CYA attempts.

They need to own it now. They’ve lost customers over this, and here’s a news flash, those LGTBQXYZ people ain’t gonna make up the difference. Way to kill your business there dummies.

  14. One of the main points was that the two Christian charities were only two among “more than 80 groups — many of them with no religious affiliation”, but most media was only reporting on the two. Whoever had shared it on Facebook noted that this writer did more of an investigative report than most media did.

I hope that Christians and conservatives who once rolled their eyes at liberals for refusing to patronize Chick-fil-A don’t now go and do the same thing.
