Under the “No good deed goes unpunished”…
I was in the grocery store checking out a small ($50 worth) basket of groceries. But it was enough that I saw a guy behind me with two things. I told him to go ahead. It turns out that it was something that required about five minutes to deal with.
But no harm done.
I swore off being nice about 70 years ago. But it still happens occasionally.
😆
Chas, I do that frequently. One time, a lady had two things in her hands, I let her go in front of me, and then she waved her daughter over to join her with a basket full of groceries. That kind of thing is rare, though, and usually folks are very grateful.
Sis in law went in at six in the morning to shop before going to work. She had her big cartfull and appeared to be the only customer around. Clerk started ringing her up, had done a few items, when a woman stepped up with one thing. Sis in law felt bad but what could she do? The woman glared a lot. The clerk was frantically calling for another cashier. A little patience, people.

🙂 First company of the Christmas season today 🙂
🙂 Most of the house is ready except for the main real tree – that will have to wait until December 🙂

Took DIL and two grands to see “Aladdin” off Broadway on Tuesday night. DIL and I saw it on Broadway and loved it. Loved it this time, too.
