Prayer Requests 11-30-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 110

Of David. A psalm.

The Lord says to my lord:

  “Sit at my right hand
    until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”

The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,
“Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
Your troops will be willing
    on your day of battle.
   Arrayed in holy splendor,
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb.

The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
   “You are a priest forever,
    in the order of Melchizedek.”

The Lord is at your right hand;
he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead
and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
He will drink from a brook along the way,
and so he will lift his head high.

  1. One of the brain surgeons has been looking over grandson’s pics. He wanted a few more days to consider, but grandson is developing hydrocephalus, swelling of the brain. They will want to drain the fluid. Wisdom. Peace.

  2. I am now getting a cold on top of still trying to get over pneumonia. I know that “this too shall pass”, but I am so tired (literally) of being sick. Please pray this will all dissipate soon. Thank you.

I was pushing myself to finish up some cleaning today, and a couple times felt like I was going to faint (with my vision beginning to dim) if I didn’t sit down for a bit. Nightingale ordered me to rest. (But I managed to finish what I wanted to do. 🙂 )

  3. Yes, they will have to figure how best to drain it. Impact depends upon damage and what is damaged. Last they saw, the ventricles were all good. God knows.

  4. Many thanks for all the travel-related prayers. Sister and family got back home at 1:41 Eastern this morning, according to the Snapchat my nephew sent 3rd Arrow. I don’t know any details about the specific weather/road conditions they experienced on the way home, but was thankful to hear that they have arrived home now.

As for our immediate family, the last 60 miles of our drive home after babysitting our granddaughter yesterday was pretty dicey, and we saw three vehicles off the road in about a 10-mile stretch, but we fared alright, as did 3rd and 4th Arrows with their work commutes.

Son-in-law saw five vehicles in ditches in a short, less than 2-mile stretch just before he got to work Friday morning. And Friday afternoon, on our way to 2nd Arrow’s, when the weather hadn’t gotten particularly bad yet, we saw a wrecker (on the opposite side of the interstate) that had some type of device on it for righting big overturned trucks. There was a steep embankment on that side, and hubby figured a large vehicle must have rolled down in there.

Honestly, after seeing / hearing about all those things occurring the last couple days, I am so very grateful for all your prayers. Praise God for His hand of protection on us.

  5. Speaking of prayers for safe travels. . . Please pray for Nightingale’s ride to work (and home again) tomorrow. We just started a slow-moving, supposedly two-day snowstorm that will also bring a layer of ice in the nighttime hours. Thank you.

Also, we are most probably going to ask Chickadee to spend the night tonight (and thus the day tomorrow), as Nightingale is not going to want to go out in that if she doesn’t have to. I don’t think she is going to be pleased, especially if there is no school tomorrow. (Boy tends to want her to play with him all the time, and she needs her space.)

  6. Prayer needed here.
Nurse daughter let me off the two week thing as everybody but the people with whom I was staying has now been sick. It is all over Boise. My brother and sis in law, the only survivors. Even their rels, whom they put off Thanksgiving so they would not get sick from me, got sick. I am here, holding the one week old while her mom goes walking. Tonight I baby sit the three and one year old while their dad goes curling and mom works.

Prayer concern: other daughter (with the neo twins) has decided not to avail herself of help and has returned to the Ronald McDonald house with her ten month old. Nobody to life him for her. She says it has been three weeks and she feels fine. I say it has been a bit over two weeks and she is exhausted and very sad. Trying to reach her husband on the island as he may be able to get through to her. I can babysit him here or there (both parents have had the gi infection. Other options available. She was staying with sis in law who works from home and loves to help. Post partum depression kicking in? Depression? Exhaustion? If she tears herself open she won’t be helping any body.

Other daughter: always feeds and changes diapers in private. She claims she wakes up every one and a half hours to feed her and has plenty as she is also pumping for when she goes to work. Yet baby lost nearly a pound.

  7. Addendum to my 2:38 above:

If you want to be reminded of the power of prayer, here’s an excerpt from the email my East Coast sister just sent to my siblings and me:

I wanted to let you all know that we had almost perfect weather through the entire drive, with the exception of the slushy roads on County Rd. ____ when we were driving up the hill to pick up [their sons] at [my brother and SIL’s] house. [My sister, BIL, and niece stayed at another sister’s house while in the Midwest.] We managed to stay between 2 major winter storm systems, so we are very grateful for the traveling mercies all the way home. We arrived home about 1:30 AM, about 17 hours after we left…! [That’s their normal travel time!]

God is so good, and we are thankful for His answer to prayer.

  8. Mumsee, did the pregnant daughter deliver her child? Is that the baby that has lost nearly a pound? If so, it is typical for newborns to lose weight and then regain it–nearly all babies do. But I don’t know the back story.

  9. Yes, they can lose up to ten percent. She is having regular dr appts so they will be keeping track. Just one more thing that she might do. Not intentionally to hurt the baby but out of ignorance.
