It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.
Anyone else?
Psalm 65
1 Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion;
to you our vows will be fulfilled.
2 You who answer prayer,
to you all people will come.
3 When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.
4 Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple.
5 You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas,
6 who formed the mountains by your power,
having armed yourself with strength,
7 who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.
8 The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy.
9 You care for the land and water it;
you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it.
10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
11 You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.
12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.
13 The meadows are covered with flocks
and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing.
Prayer for twenty two as she is considering adoption more.
Prayer for husband as he takes eighteen back to the job site again today because the people who do that sort of thing, messed up and forgot to show up.

I heard recently something I’d never thought about before, but adoption is about loss–which is one reason so many women do not choose it.
It’s loss not just to the mother, but to the child who can lose touch with their heritage and to the adopting family because they have to “give up” their hope for birth children.
It’s an interesting concept–and I’m sure one you’ve dealt with, Mumsee–and has given me more compassion for all involved. xoxox

Daughter considers it would be giving her daughter the same abandonment issues she has.

Has she considered an open adoption?

It is good that she is considering her daughter’s needs and feelings. That is a start to being a good mother, whether she keeps her or releases her for adoption.

We are concerned about open adoption, though that is the norm, because she would try to edge into their life and run how the child was raised. Which is why our son and wife who cannot have children and are looking at adoption, are not willing to step up for this one.
I am hoping she keeps her and lets family help. But whatever she decides, we will love them both.

There are different types of open adoption. Praying for her to make the best decision for the baby.
