Prayer Requests 9-5-19

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 30

I will exalt you, Lord,
    for you lifted me out of the depths
    and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
Lord my God, I called to you for help,
    and you healed me.
You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
    you spared me from going down to the pit.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;
    praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;
   weeping may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.

When I felt secure, I said,
    “I will never be shaken.”
Lord, when you favored me,
    you made my royal mountain stand firm;
   but when you hid your face,
    I was dismayed.

To you, Lord, I called;
    to the Lord I cried for mercy:
“What is gained if I am silenced,
    if I go down to the pit?
   Will the dust praise you?
    Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me;
    Lord, be my help.”

11 You turned my wailing into dancing;
    you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
    Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

  1. Bacterial skin infection, as I’m sure you know by now. I had it and, somehow, it also went into a blood clot. (Those were not related, but the whole thing was serious–the result of tripping over a parking block in a dark parking lot and protecting my baby in arms and hitting my knee.) The cellulitis developed a few days later.

    My husband left me at the hospital and went to join his submarine. They left that afternoon for five months. A friend, of course, bailed me out later that day after he departed.

  2. Michelle, I would imagine that might have been about the hardest, darkest five months of your life. God be praised for good medical care and a good support system to help you with the children!

  3. Please pray about Boy’s bad attitude towards me of late. It’s as if I can’t do anything right in his eyes, and it is both frustrating and painful for me.

    There is that saying: “Familiarity breeds contempt”. I think we have spent too much time together over the past few months, while he missed his mom, and also missing his dad from time to time. I am the safe, secure one who is always here. So I think it is kinda good that with school now in session, and his dad supposedly going to have him on the weekends that Nightingale works (if that agreement goes through), I will be childsitting him a lot less. Plus, the structure of school and activities may help, too.

  4. Thank God for Navy Wives? I loved watching and experiencing them with my friend L.

    Please pray for my coworker who is facing a situation with her daughter in October. It is hurting her heart and as a mother, it hurts mine for her.
    I have another request that is quite private. It doesn’t involve me, but it is someone I care for deeply.

  5. Daughter told me she is moving out, she cannot stand it anymore. She asked for a suitcase, no. She asked for a box, no. But I told her I would pack for her when it was time so she would not forget anything. She wanted to go to the sheriff to report me for violent domestic. Who do you suppose taught her that one? Prayer for eighteen daughter. Thanks. Oh, and prayer for me.
