And now, back by popular demand (not very, only Kevin and Chas so far) it’s the College Football guessing game where no one wins a prize, but all who try have fun participating. It’s the 2019 version of Peter’s Pack of Pickled Pigskin Picks (credit to whomever thought of that name).
Can last year’s overall winner (Chas with 82 correct picks) repeat?
Let’s get right down to it. Choose the winner of these ten games, as well as the score for the tie breaker. Enter your guesses before Friday, August 30th at 6:00pm Eastern Daylight Time. (Rankings are pre-season picks.)
1. Northern Iowa @ #21 Iowa State
2. South Carolina @ North Carolina
3. Georgia State @ Tennessee
4. Boise St @ Florida State
5. Fresno State @ USC (the one in California)
6. Ole Miss @ Memphis
7. Virginia Tech @ Boston College
8. Rice @ Army (Friday 8/30)
9. #9 Notre Dame @ Louisville (Monday 9/2)
10. Tie Breaker (pick winner and score): #11 Oregon @ # 16 Auburn

Kevin wins. Even if Louisville manages an upset tomorrow night, Kevin wins. You see, he currently has 7, I have 6. He picked ND, I picked Louisville. So if Louisville wins, we are tied. But since Kevin has the better tie breaker.
Congrats, Kevin!
Here are the results (number in parentheses is possible based on the Monday night result).
Kevin 7 (8)
Peter 6 (7 – I’m the only one to pick Louisville over ND)
Mumsee 6 (7- but can’t win since she picked the loser in the tie breaker game)
Idaho Mike 5 (6)
AJ, Chas, janice 3 (4)
Football is a stupid game. Just a bunch of huge guys pushing each other around and fighting over a silly looking ball.
SC led the Heels through three quarters. Then started playing it safe.
I have never seen that work.
it’s going to be a long season.
I can see that. In the past I would never have picked USC or Ohio State, but a couple of wins have made me greedy, so I’ve thrown out such principles. 🙂
Not really. I’m always interested in what goes on with Michigan, but I’m far from a loyal fan. Having a big university in small city makes football a big deal. Having spent most of my life in a big city, and I kind of roll my eyes at how the town here revolves around Michigan football. Plus, I often root for the military teams. So who am I rooting for? Not sure…
Thanks Peter! 🙂

Do you need the shipping address for sending my prize? Or do I pick it up at the nearest large container dock?

Two games to go. Kevin leads with 6 plus he gets the tiebreaker, since he was only off by 3 points. The final was Auburn 27 – Oregon 21.
USC is beating Fresno and Notre Dame plays Monday night. Stay tuned.

Well, Peter, that was quite a limb you went out on. Any special reason? I’m almost rooting for Louisville so you can tie the number of correct picks.

Kevin – I don’t like Notre Dame, so I rarely pick them.

It’s official. Notre Dame won 35-17. So everyone but me gets the higher number above. SO:
Kevin 8, Mumsee 7, me and Idaho Mike 6, etc.
Okay Kevin. What’ll it be? There was a bad link above. Use this one.
