Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 4
1 Answer me when I call to you,
my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
3 Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
4 Tremble and do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous
and trust in the Lord.
6 Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
7 Fill my heart with joy
when their grain and new wine abound.
8 In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.
Something is up at work. I don’t know what it is. The receptionist hasn’t spoken to me in two weeks. If I ask a direct question, I get a one-word answer. The quickest way to make me miserable is to make me feel alienated.
I don’t know whether to sit at my desk and cry or back up and go home.

Ask the receptionist. Put the receptionist on the spot.

Which, by the way, does not mean I am not praying for you. I am. You are a wonderful woman and it is difficult to be put in a situation like that. I doubt I would ask the receptionist, I would curl up and whine to my husband.

I have my eye appointment in the morning. Prayers, please, for it to go well and for whatever treatment is given (maybe injections) will be productive in bringing my vision closer to what it needs to be. Thank you.

Kim, is it possible it has nothing to do with you, but is the receptionist herself? Do you know if she is responding to others in the same way? Or is it possible that she herself doesn’t like you, but it is limited to her? I once had an office secretary who decided she didn’t like me (and when I asked her about it, she said she didn’t know why) . . . and to make it worse, she was my housemate at the time too. It was quite a miserable year until I moved and she was transferred to a different building (and I also had a volunteer position with a director who wasn’t a good people person–I found out years later it was definitely not “just me”).
But I know from experience that it’s possible to think something involves us and then it turns out the person’s husband is having an affair with another man, or her daughter is dying, or we remind her of a sister she can’t stand, or something else that is likewise outside of our own control and our own fault.
