Prayer Requests 7-22-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 141

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
    hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
    may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
    keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
    so that I take part in wicked deeds
   along with those who are evildoers;
    do not let me eat their delicacies.

Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness;
    let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.
   My head will not refuse it,
    for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs,
    and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
They will say, “As one plows and breaks up the earth,
    so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.”

But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
    in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.
Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,
    from the snares they have laid for me.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
    while I pass by in safety.

  1. Wisdom as we continue to sift through our options for daughter

    Wisdom for the believers at the Youth Challenge (there are many and they are connected) as they try to connect with son and help him get through this.

    Our pastor had a stroke and was medivaced to a hospital a few hours away. They called it a mild stroke but are now calling it a major stroke. He was showing signs of improvement yesterday. His wife, who is nearly blind from surgery to help her vision and just getting through shingles, is with him. His mom, who is visiting them for three weeks, is alone at their house though the neighbor checks on her. Their dog is visiting us for the three weeks or possibly longer, it would seem. May they know God in this time I am certain the pastor would not mind going home but he would not mind staying and continuing to serve his wife and the church. God’s will.

  2. Thank you for your prayers for Boy. He was looking improved by evening, and was up and off to Boy Scout Day Camp with his mom this morning.

  3. Asking prayers for wisdom for Nightingale. Sometimes I think she keeps herself too busy, between working and taking Boy to his sports activities, and when school starts up again, she will be the den leader of the Bears den, as well as still being the secretary of the pack. And supposedly this fall she is going to start classes part time working towards her RN degree.

    Every now and then, she sort of crashes, and needs to spend time with a friend or go out by herself. (As often as possible, she plans these for when Boy is with his dad, but not always.)

    There are some other important aspects of life (like paying bills or housecleaning) that get squeezed in here and there, but not in a routine manner, as well as other things that pile up until they become a “project” in themselves.

    I worry about her, and about us.
