Without explicitly stating why she was canceling, Bustos’s announcement echoes the criticism she first received when it became public she intended to host a fundraiser for Lipinski while Republican-controlled states were taking action to limit abortion rights.”

“One of President Donald Trump’s staunch allies in the House, North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), teased the upcoming expected declassification of important documents related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
During a Wednesday interview on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Meadows — the top Republican in the influential House Freedom Caucus — proclaimed that he and his Republican colleagues were in “a search for the truth” as they continue to release closed-door transcripts related to Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference.
“You got to get to the right time to release some of this stuff,” said the North Carolina Republican. “For us, it’s about a search for the truth.”
Meadows then predicted the expected upcoming declassification of documents related to the Russia probe would contain information that would “curl your hair” and that Democrats are reacting so “visceral[ly]” because the Democrats — specifically House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) — “know” that the documents will point the “finger” back at the Democrats.”
“California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff called Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe “un-American” in a Thursday night tweet.
“While Trump stonewalls the public from learning the truth about his obstruction of justice, Trump and Barr conspire to weaponize law enforcement and classified information against their political enemies,” Schiff wrote. “The coverup has entered a new and dangerous phase. This is un-American.”

Aj is right in that the Chinese do manipulate their currency for trade purposes, but that’s only part of the story.
Lowering tariffs and free trade have been general policy for over 40 years. Free trade was supposed to generate efficiencies and economies of scale as countries would specialize. Leftist opposed these policies as it left workers unprotected and generated a race to the bottom in terms of labour and environmental standards. Newer agreements are more about regulated trade and corporate rights than free trade.
However, its impossible to unscrabble an egg. Enacting tariffs to bring back the 1950s isn’t going to work. Instead govts need to enact economic policies to create new jobs in new industries in which the US (or Canada) can dominate……technology, finance, specialty products, etc. Sure enact tariffs but only to protect infant industries not as punishment to other countries…..no one wins a trade war.

Its also amusing to watch the “law and order” party complain about political investigations. The FBI has been investigating leftists for a century with no complaints from Republicans. When you hire an adviser with ties to pro Russian Ukrainians and you borrow massive amounts of money from Deutsch Bank ( the bank of choice for Russian mobsters) , you justifiably attract the attention of the law. There are members of Congress who have had the opportunity to view a less redacted version. They’ve declined. It’s just BS politics on their part. You’re simply spreading disinformation.
