Prayer Requests 12-1-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 114

When Israel came out of Egypt,
Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
Judah became God’s sanctuary,
    Israel his dominion.

The sea looked and fled,
    the Jordan turned back;
the mountains leaped like rams,
    the hills like lambs.

Why was it, sea, that you fled?
Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
Why, mountains, did you leap like rams,
    you hills, like lambs?

Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
who turned the rock into a pool,
the hard rock into springs of water.

  1. It seems that things are moving in a more positive direction for BG. Please pray that they continue to do so. I told her everything we have been through will be worth it if she comes out the other side happy and healthy.

  2. Please pray for my Dad who had a mini stroke the other day and is in the hospital. He’s doing really well and may be released in a day or two, but nothing is minor when you’re 92.

When it rains it pours. We have just got the diagnosis for our Grandbaby Abigail, the surviving twin who was born premature. They said she has cerebral palsy. We knew there were issues but a CP diagnosis is apparently not generally made until age 3, and Abby will be 2 yrs old Christmas week. Son and daughter-in-law are incredibly positive—always have been about almost everything, but they are so far away in Las Vegas. I feel impotent at this distance, but I know that prayer is not bound by those limitations. Neither are walking with Christ at this point, which is an even bigger issue.

  3. Prayers for all above, and praises for BG’s growth. God is faithful.

I want to request prayer for someone who came to my attention today in an unusual way. First, a little background:

In our hymnal racks at church, we have little cards on which people can write prayer requests and other details, if desired. When I opened my hymnal to the first hymn today, one of these cards fell out of the pages, and I noticed everything on both sides of the card had an answer penciled in. Will you join me in praying for this youth? Here is what s/he wrote (I’m withholding the individual’s name):

    Welcome to our Church

Please do not hesitate to place this card in the offering plate or hand to an usher or to a pastor.

Just thought I would pass that along to all of you prayer warriors, as well as to some in my congregation. Let’s storm the gates of heaven on behalf of this young person.
