  1. It looks like in the case of Broward, it may *not* (?) be protocol for officers to enter a shooting situation early, although with this Israel guy, the truth is always gonna be hard to get to. Maybe we should just assume the truth is the opposite of whatever he says. In any case, I’m guessing the victims might have preferred some more active defense of themselves, seeing as how gun policy on campus left them helpless…

  2. Once again Ricky leaves out the relevant part of Trump’s Tweets.

What did the 2 Tweets that came before WITCH HUNT! say Ricky?

Did they make his point, so that’s why you ignored them? Because it’s kinda relevant. The 2 prior Tweets were quotes from Jonathon Turley and Ken Starr.

“‘I’ve been skeptical about the collusion and obstruction claims for the last year. I just don’t see the evidence….in terms of the collusion, it’s all a bit implausible based on the evidence we have.’ Jonathan Turley on @FoxNews,” Trump tweeted.

“‘We’ve seen NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION….I have seen nothing, the firing of James Comey and all of the aftermath, that suggests that the President has obstructed justice because he’s exercising his power as the President of the U.S. I just don’t see it.’ Judge Ken Starr.”

So yeah, WITCH HUNT! sounds about right.

  3. #Don’tBelieveTheHype

“University Study: Schools safer than in the 90s, and school shootings not more common
Contrary to the popular assumptions behind the push for strict gun control.”

“The subject of school safety has become a hot topic after Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. Arguments in favor of strict gun control are based on the claim, among other things, that there is an epidemic of school shootings that have increased in the past several decades.

Northeastern University released a study Monday, however, that calls that assumption into question. The study that found schools are still the safest spot for children. The study also found that school shootings aren’t as actually common as portrayed in the media and are not as common as decades ago.

James Alan Fox, the Lipman Family Professor of Criminology, law, and Public Policy at Northeastern and Fox and doctoral student Emma Fridel researched school shootings and “used data collected by USA Today, the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Report, Congressional Research Service, Gun Violence Archive, Stanford Geospatial Center and Stanford Libraries, Mother Jones, Everytown for Gun Safety, and a NYPD report on active shooters.”

It led them to conclude “that shooting incidents involving students have been declining since the 1990s.””

  4. From Veith:

    Everybody Is Exhausted

… I know that some people have stopped watching TV news–whether Fox or MSNBC–have sworn off talk radio, have cancelled their FaceBook accounts, and are withdrawing from the information universe.

Does this describe any of you? Why do you think things have gotten to this point? Any suggestions for coping with our national nervous breakdown?

Faith, of course, helps. For one thing, it can give us perspective. This world really is alienated from God and thus from reality, so of course it is “vanity, vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). When we see absurdity, we can despair, if we think that’s all there is. But if we know that it is part of a sinful temporal order that passes away, throwing the eternal order in high relief, we can laugh at it. Though overt sin – school shootings, sexual transgressions, casual cruelty – is nothing to laugh at. But we have a Judge who will make all things right. And give us rest.

  5. Kushner’s security clearance has been downgraded. Can we now do the same to Trump?
