Prayer Requests 1-11-18

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 126

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.

Restore our fortunes, Lord,
    like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
    carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
    carrying sheaves with them.

  1. Jo is back in the PNG so there are praises for her safe return.
I have a battle on my hands with an Old Broad who made the comment she always gets her way. I am somewhat of an Old Broad myself and I am determined I am right and she is not getting her way. This may be the hill I die upon and may get fired, but I have 3 attorneys telling me I am right

  2. Prayers for wisdom and favor, Kim.

I have caught the cold bug that has been going around. Husband got it 2 weeks ago, and it’s still hanging over him a bit. He gave it to me apparently and I can’t seem to shake it either. On the upside, I’ve lost a few pounds that I could afford to shed, but it’s not my preferred weight-loss method. Prayers are appreciated.

  3. Yesterday we put a lock on ten year old’s door. Sixteen year old kept saying she was going to sneak into the kitchen, take a knife, and stab the ten year old and eleven year old to death. She says she learned about that at the mental hospital. Do you suppose that makes us want to send her back???? Wisdom.

  4. That is the problem with treatment facilities. They learn tricks there they didn’t know before. Almost 20 years after we lost my mother, my father sold the house. I cannot tell you how many empty Canadian Mist bottles I hauled down from the attic.
I also think you may have to consider sending her back to the hospital. The safety of many has the outweigh the safety/needs of the one.

  5. She wants to go because they feed her all she can eat. And let her watch movies most of the day. We have offered to let her watch movies all day but don’t want her eating all she can eat.

  6. Prayers for wisdom have been said daily for you, mumsee. Such challenges, but nothing for our awesome God, of course.

Please pray the flu will bypass my daughter’s home. She has a three month old who cannot be vaccinated and her little one with DS, who has holes in her heart. They just found out that a couple of the relatives they spent time with for a Christmas gathering last weekend have been diagnosed with the flu.

Please pray for my brother, Gene, who has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of bladder cancer. He is the one with whom my mom lives. My sister has POA and takes care of all finances and health care, though. Still, this will be quite disruptive to my mom, too. It is complicated by ‘issues.’ The biggest concern is his lack of pursuing the Lord. He thinks all churches only want money. He was brought up Roman Catholic and even spent a year in seminary early on, but now does not attend any church.

Please pray for my husband’s brother, who after being in the hospital is now in a nursing home, temporarily. He usually volunteers at this nursing home and has stayed there before, so he is quite at home. He reminds me of mumsee’s daughter. He enjoys being well fed and watching the big television. He did say today that he should be able to do his volunteering, since he is starting to be able to walk again. He seemed to have some sort of vertigo, but also is the one with mental health issues. He is a believer and very knowledgeable about the bible.

  7. yeah, I am finally able to access the internet. Lots of minor hassles going on. Please pray for wisdom. I had a good talk with my aid yesterday and we need to make some changes and redo some things in the curriculum. I think she is very glad that I am back. Wendy is a very quiet, wise woman.

  8. Thankful to God that everything went smoothly when we went back to probate court with the finished paperwork. What a relief!

Now we just have to wait for the paperwork to come through (which will take a little over a month) so we can then change the name on the house and the cars. (Hubby owned Nightingale’s car, too. At the time she was trying to buy it, she owed car taxes, so he put it in his name. We’d forgotten about that until he died.)
